So, are you better off doing the normal or the veteran unlock (5,000 or 20,000). Does 4 x 5,000 give you a good enough chance to still get the goodies?
So far I got an upgraded pistol and rifle out of 2 unlocks + extra ammo clips (and the usual single use stuff). Oh plus 2 characters and I noticed you can get 12,500 XP for a random class.

I would recommend that you report this as a bug. When you unlock something, it should always upgrade your existing weapon.

The Drell kind of sucks. It looks cool yeah, but you get 400 less barrier and 35 more hp than a human -.-. and I picked all the defense boosting passives for the Drell too hah.
The Drell gets better melee upgrades though in the "Drell Assassin" passive.

I got Salarian infiltrator in my first pack on Xbox. On PC, it got Quarian Fungineer.
Fungineer because it's fun.

I got an Asari Adept in my Starter Pack. So far that's the only new character I've unlocked, even after buying three Veteran Packs and nine Recruit Packs. I know I'll start getting more characters (and weapons, I need a better assault rifle) eventually, but I'm not in a rush to play for everything since my progress in mp won't carry over to the full game.
