Don't hate it, but he does get made fun of a lot, especially his perv face that scare millions of children. Someone needs to post that picture up.

Yeah, I think her face is odd too. My first impression was like she doesn't belong to mass effect and I have still that impression..

I dont have a problem with default femshep. Hell i had a problem with MALE shep in Mass Effect 1. To me he looked like a cardboard box with a face painted on it. Which is why i went with femshep.

The artists interpretation of her complexion did seem a little ambitious to begin with, so its not going to be perfect. In saying that I don't think its deplorable, and if you really don't like it just create your own. What we have is about what I had expected frankly.

But don't you guys think she looks out of place compared to the other squadmates ?

I don't mind her face in the first picture, I think she looks pretty there, but in the 2nd picture, close up her face looks very flat, she reminds me of tombraider but with freckles from the PS2 era.

No, it doesn't. Let me compare. Okay, this (link) is a fanmade ME2 face based on the artwork of the Femshep we voted for. It looks closer to the artwork then the actual default Femshep we got. It's quite sad that a fan with the normal CC with ME2 created a better representation of the artwork then Bioware did. Let me post the pics too. Note that the official artwork for Femshep is included in the first pic of the fanmade one, for comparisons sake (bottom middle part). Right click>view image for full size.





The hair style is literally the only difference between the fanmade face and the artwork, whereas the official Bioware made Femshep based on the same artwork has many more differences. And the hair style difference is only because that hair style doesn't exist in ME1 or ME2. How does this fail happen?

In my opion it seems eyes are to streched then the face is pushed together up. then the thing i can't get over is how plastic her face looks.

That is actually the thing that irks me the most - I'm fine with them taking a different direction than those I would personally prefer, but her ingame appearance looking nothing like the winning entry is kinda silly.

I prefer the default FemShep to that fan-made one myself. But at the end of the day, no one is forcing anyone to play default...don't like it? Change it.

At first glance, I think her head is too wide/square-ish, eyes too big and lips too small and puckered.

That said, I'm sure I will still use her and grow to like her.

That wasn't quite my point. I wasn't saying which was better, not really. What I was saying is that the fanmade face I linked to, that face which was to be the new default Femshep in ME2 form made by a fan is closer to the source material (the actual artwork) then how the actual new default really looks. You can prefer whichever you want, that's purely subjective, but as to which is closer to the image we voted on, that can be objectively judged, and it's a fact that the fanmade new default looks closer to the artwork that we voted for then what ME3 actually gave us.

So, like whichever you want more then the other, but the fanmade version sticks more to what fans actually thought they were getting then what the official version actually gave us.

And before someone thinks that face is something I made and that's why I'm defending it, that's not true. I've only made a single face, for my first character, and I've never uploaded the code. I've only ever used defaults or faces I liked from the ME2faces website and copied down the code, or the one single face I personally made. And trust me, the one I made doesn't look as good as most of the high ranking Femsheps on that site.
