I posted this in a similar thread to illustrate the difference that lighting can make, so I guess I'll throw it here as well:

Lighting and smoothing out some of the texture can go a long way, but if the model animates poorly during speech and facial expressions, no amount of tweaks will make her look good.

This seems to be the case with all ME3 FemSheps. It looks very odd on otherwise basic (texture and res-wise) faces.the laugh lines are way to pronounced.

I don't really see the point of going "realistic" when the end results are something like demo femshep. Lightning looks better because they have captured an essence rather than trying to model a face.

People did vote for this character.
I'm glad she has some flaws tbh.

However, her eyebrows are the wrong colour.

I am not very knowledgable about graphics and the terms for what produces different effects. I do know though that even ME2 was wacky about lighting, moreso than nearly any other game. My video card is not the greatest, so I am used to people looking bizarrely deformed.
In this demo though, people look weird even when uniforml lit.
I'd love a code for an exact likeness of default femhawke.....and a Jennifer Hale to Jo Wyatt voice conversion mod.

Tsantilas' modification is the closest to the target so far. Good job buddy! It just needs some hot red eyeliner and more red lips (doubt it's possible though). Her complexion is pale in fact.

She's a goddamn damn freak. They should have known that letting the masses vote would end up having her look like something out of suicidegirls.
This.
I was caught up in argument on another thread about how we should all quit moaning about CC when we all voted for red freckle femshep. Well:
1) the number of people who voted does not represent everyone's opinion by a long shot
2) the number of winning voters is a subset of the above
3) trumps all ot the above, because the in-game femshep looks nothing like the one presented for voting
I got into ME only this year, so I missed the vote, but I liked all of the femsheps in the vote pictures. But the facial models in ME3 just look poor to me. ME2 models, lighting and textures look much nicer (speaking for PC only)

There's always an option to knock yourself out in the creator, of course.

Edit: actually, this mask picks up on what I first thought about this femshep face model, her face is too wide. She does look like a Gelfling!

That's funny. Any custom femshep looks better than default femshep. Too much make up, eyes too big, odd face structure. She looks a bit cartoony.
I don't want anymore to play default femshep. On the opposite, shelpoo is really good in M3.
sheploo looks much better in this game
and his voice acting has gotten so much better :3
It has been superior for ages.

It'd be cool if they scanned Susan Coffey's face for femshep.
Only if she agrees to use the natural haircolor. I've never been fan of the fake-red or dark hair. It always looks wrong.

this realy makes me sick, you can see who gets the love here and who not. Male Shep is a weathered veteran, grows older. Fem Shep looks like an 18yr old girlie... with no details whatover, heck even Vega and Ashley got more detail-love here...
It's what people voted really. Everyone was so concerned getting her unatural red hair that they didn't even bother to check the character how it fits the role.

Not really as all 6 candidates look pretty much the same 18 yr old girlie look with colour differences:Arppis wrote...

and the final in-game result looks like none of them. So you can easily see that no matter what people voted for (of the small subset of differences), the end result would be the same Gelfling with different colours.

So... if it's the Golden Ratio then it's the uncanny valley, but her face doesn't fit it after all, so then it's bad as well?DaBozUK wrote...
It's all about the Golden Ratio. Although, she looks like she fits the Golden Ratio Face mask... so perhaps it's more Uncanny Valley going on here?

Many people have wide faces. I like it that she sort of has a "person's face" (sure, a ton of make-up going on there), not a "game doll"'s one.

Sheesh, I hate using smilies, but I was going for tongue in cheek again in that post. As most of mine are.
And, "person's face" is a little generous. Muppet Gelfling maybe.

1) Lipstick. While some makeup isn't too troublesome, but I do not like lipstick, ever. Since this is a personal thing, I can let it pass.
2) She doesn't look like the Femshep I voted for. Her specularity is way too high. It makes her hair look like it's been greased, and gives the impression of far too much makeup.
