Ugh what? All the games he listed have VERY average, repetetive combat. They should be much better considering it's the ONLY things they do. ME3 is guaranteed to have more to it than shooting, and the actual mechanics are very much a lot of fun and work.
You must not like traditional shooters then because Halo, COD, BF3, and Gears all destroy ME in that area.
Traditional Shooters? COD? BF3? Gears of War? Give me a break, none of those are traditional shooters. What are you, born in 2001 or something?
LOL. I'm probably older than you tough guy.
I very much doubt that when you're calling Halo a "traditional shooter"... Kinda lends a hand to my theory that you weren't even around when real traditional shooters showed us the fun of shooting someone/thing in the face with a double barreled shotgun. Ooooh exciting...tough guy.

Although I'm staying optimistic, the second I run into an end-level boss battle with a Reaper (not just one of those smaller "baby" Reapers, I'm talking about Sovereign-sized Reapers... you know the guy who took two whole fleets firing on him while he was using half of his power to control Saren's dead body to kill him and even then he took out a good portion of the fleet), is when I shut the game off and frisbee it out my window.
What a silly thing to do. Wouldn't you rather not take the risk of losing $60 and just not buy the game in the first place?
Or are you just being dramatically sarcastic xD
Anyway OP, something tells me you were going to be disappointed with the ME3 demo regardless of what it consisted of.

Me too. Go anywhere else on the internet and the opinion is a lot different and more varied.

Nope, Shepard and Co. do not fight a Reaper on foor in ME3. And if they did, it would in no way be awesome.nevar00 wrote...

The point other people are making is that despite these critical choices, the difference between Action Mode/RPG mode will be slim to none, the choices will be the same, the consequences will be the same.
I highly doubt that.
Speculation at best, considering that an action playthrough and an RPG playthrough currently hold no difference in the outcome of the demo. Also considering that a lot of the choices made in ME1 and 2 will pretty much no bearing on the story.
Everything comes down to the third part of Shepards trilogy.
there are no choices made in the demo and there are no outcomes since there are no choices. you cant make a conclusion on a hypothesis derived from something where you can't even gather data to support or deny that the hypothesis is correct.
as I realise some people (not say the person I quoted is one of these people) may not understand my second sentence let me lay it out a bit more explicitly.
you can't say that Action Mode and RPG mode are the same thing from the demo when in the demo the game has been so trimmed/cut down to fit into the file size requirements for DLing on PSN and XBLMP and to avoid spoilers.

I'm just worried they've written themselves into a corner and are going to nerf the Reapers just so everyone else stands a chance.
Soverign took on an entire fleet before finally getting put down. I'm expecting all the "big" Reapers to be just as impossible to defeat.

The demo was complete vomit. Dialogue was definitely B rating, animations were bad. Fem Shep is still a man. If you shoot enemies they just keep coming but if you beat them in the face with a gun they stumble? Guns spray glitter. The health system feels like it was made for mega-man with graphics imported from Skyrim. Graphically the game is decent but the city being wiped out by Reapers was pretty boring. The models look like h*ll. Multiply player is pretty useless. Why do guns have bullets when it's the future and they didn't in the original game? How about instead of the idiotic Action, RP and Story mode we get "weapons without bullets" option? Anyway, EA is turning the page to becoming Blizzard. Especially with the dialog. This is just as bad a the Diablo III demo except the graphics look like they are from a first rate company. Everything felt contrived. Anyway, immediately after I played the demo I had serious doubts about this. I decided 76 dollars for this game isn't worth it. Besides, I'm sure someone's boyfriend will be glued to this for weeks. I won't miss out a thing.

Seems like you went into this demo with a VERY negative attitude and expecting the worst, OP.
Indeed. I made the mistake of taking the post seriously when he was talking about the issues with the menu, as I found it a little clunky too.... until it then degenerated into 'THIS IS AN INSULT TO THE GENRE WAH WAH WAH'.
Realistically, if ME3 is an insult to the 'genre' (whichever that genre is), I can only assume that someone had no idea what kind of game series ME is.

What makes me sick is people who call out vocal minorities without facts and just accept anything, incapable of creative thought and opinion, or atleast accepting that others do have opinions.
It was also just the "vocal minority" that complained about DA2 and look what failure and black mark that was on Biowares record. Few people actually bought the game once it was out and clear what it really was. Some of us don't want that to happen again or get worse, many share the same opinions but simply don't bother to voice their concerns. And those who do usually use agruments and not just collections of insults. FEEDBACK

Most people forget that ME is a TPS mixed with a bit of Casual RPG. However, when you strip away the layers of illusion and finally hold down on your marketing of importing to the next game to make a larger difference, people are going to get upset that they've walked into a marketing move. Which is what a product is supposed to do.

There is a huge difference in constructive criticism, and being horrbly negative. To be fair, Baldur's Gate: Origins wasn't that good to begin with, and DA 2 was an experiment to see if they could remedy some of the problems the original suffered.

I have also noticed a rising number of games which treat you like your a complete and utter retard. "it's this way player1" 5 seconds later...." this way player 1"....THIS WAY PLAYER 1 yeah ok we get it unless i have suddenly lost my sight or sound im quite well aware of where i'm going thanks. I don't need to have my hand held or be screamed at untill I perform the requeste operation.

I think it's pretty damn fun and addictive.
Funny how the multiplayer is better. Of course that is my SUBJECTIVE OPINION, if you disagree with it you can lick my nuts.
How do I unlock Krogan? I want to charge about and bash everything to death.
