Ancient Elven Boots

as far as ive heard the ancient elven boots are in the locked cabinet in the first town after you become a grey warden (cant remember name, been awhile since i played) but ive saved before opening the cabinet and all i ever get are healing items and worthless crap, is this just a glitch with the pc version? cuz ive heard it can be found in the 360 version, if so, is there ever going to be a fix for it? the armour may be weak but it looks cool, and as a collector of all unique items i really want these boots so ill have 100% of all weapons, armour and accessories in the game (yeah im a freak when it comes to this crap, you should see my FF12, suikoden 3&4, castlevania curse of darkness games, lol), any info about this would be much appreciated.

A simple search would have revealed that this is a known bug/omission on the PC version and you cannot complete the set without using a mod or override.
