Is anybody else sick of Bioware making the Asari be the galaxy's wet dream?

I wouldn't care if Bioware had just left them as the race of lesbians that they set out to create when they created them, but I have gotten fed up with their constant shoving down our throughts that the Asari are this univerally desired race, that everyone, men, women, probably children too, that all species without exception want to be with an Asari.

The only inter-species couples or relationships they have ever shown are with the Asari (human with Asari, Krogan with Asari, Elcor with Asari, and probably others I can't remember), with the only exception of female Shepard who can be with Thane and Garrus.

And why are the Asari the only dancers in all three games?  I have just heard a few days ago that there would be a Asari erotic dancer club scene in ME3.  I am fed up with it.  Stop with the Asari.<_<

I refuse to believe that humans would stop wanting to watch human erotic dancers or that other species wouldn't prefer to see dancers of their own kind and that they only want to see these damn Asari.  Enough is enough!!!

I'll be the first to say it!  If I can let the Reapers destroy the Asari home planet, my Paragon Shepard will have pleasure watching that planet burn!  It's time for Shepard to put an end to this wet dream!

I assume you aren't/wouldn't be very much of a star trek fan.

There were human dancers in Chora's Den in Mass Effect 1

It's OK, nothing wrong with liking guys. Don't take it out on the poor Asari though.

I only watched Star Trek Voyager and I don't really know the other series, but was there a race that was universally desired to the point that you couldn't help but see the writer's own fantasies? I certainly am not aware of one.

I agree, OP. I'm incredibly offended. Everyone knows the "most desirable species" award goes to the turians. :P

It's not about liking guys or not.  I just believe that it is ridiculous to believe that there would be a universally desired race.  I also think that the ME3 dancer scene should be with human dancers and not Asari.  I  think about all the past times we've seen Asari dancers, like the Bachelor's party on Illium (Eternity? I think was the name of the bar) and can't help but feel pissed off about it.  Three races (human, salarian, and turian) ogling some stupid Asari.  Wish I could have put a bullet in it's head.

It's gotten to the point where I just want to go Renegade on all Asari and where I take more pleasure than I should in killing them.

It would depend on where in the galaxy we're talking about. The farther out you go from human space, the less human-centric things would become.

Less human-centric, but always and forever Asari-centric?

Okay, wow. You have some pretty strong feelings for an entire species that were completely made up. Not sure if I am fascinated or scared. Either way BioWare never set out to make them a "race of lesbians". Head over to http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Asari and get your read on.

Also, there is a story behind why all the races are infatuated with the Asari. They're the only species that can have children with ANY race. It's why the Krogan's try to have children with them. They want off-spring, and Asari, despite the Genophage, can produce a child, even though the child looks like the Asari. This is pretty much my own speculation from things I've learned. It's not like BioWare went "Hey. We want all the races to have sex with just this one uber race. We're going to make them super sexy so no one will deny them." and then ran with it.

Abosolutely not offended, but I like wet dreams...sooo...;P

Seriously though, I think the Asari are interesting as a species partly because of their method of reproduction. I mean, I havent seen anything like it in other sci-fi. So it makes sence that they seems a bit....what is the word....parasitic...symboiotic? And yes, would tend to get down and party witih the other species. Its also linked to their evolution as a species. Being Female and attractive acctually helps their species a large amount in the survival/influence sence. And being able to mate with any other species also makes it possible to restart Asari populations with only ONE Asari left as long is there ANY sentient Alien around. So their focus on sexuality when compaired to other aliens, if anything, makes sence to me.

I'd guess that has a lot to do with the games only having single gender models for most of the species -- there's only human females, and the Asari who happen to be females (and basically use the same body).

Of course, you can then question why there's only female dancers in the clubs and such. Apparently women (and men) in the future aren't supposed to be interested in watching the male dancers.

It's just a game, guys and girls.

Nearly every universe has a race like that.
For example Twi'Leks in Star Wars
