Is anybody else sick of Bioware making the Asari be the galaxy's wet dream?

The only inter-species couples or relationships they have ever shown are with the Asari (human with Asari, Krogan with Asari, Elcor with Asari, and probably others I can't remember), with the only exception of female Shepard who can be with Thane and Garrus.

There's mention of other relationships, the human trying to buy a dextro steak for his girlfriend (turian or quarian, though some people think she's probably turian as it could be a bit of a logistical nightmare for a quarian to eat a human-prepared steak) and Friend Zone Turian was interested in his quarian friend.

There's also human dancers in some of the clubs

I think there should be more mention of non-asari interspecies couples

Because it is humans that purchase the games. As a female human I would not want to play a game where the "sexy" in-game was stripping ewoks. Thanks, but no thanks.

That is what I was trying to get across. It boils down the to not straying to far form what society can relate to and what is more normal to society there by it is more freely acceptable.
Would you feel comfortalbe being in an animal wh0re house?

You just had to go there didn't you ... Image IPB

Not sure if I need to clearify but I was saying your quote PMC65 was the one I was trying to get across to the OP.

No I didn't have to go to the Animale House example but for the sake of the OP,I used it.
For some reason the OP  don't understand that don't understand that some abstract idea such as an alien that has no body but yet a head, a tree stump for an @ss, and it's naughty bits are made up of an upwards flowing lava stream,  along with an inverted upside down backwards strip dance as a stripper is just too far out there for most people to see it as anything than a bad acid trip or a lame idea.

Why do you keep putting these pictures in my head?

I mostly agree OP but in game I can handwave it as the Asari marketing themselves for centuries as the sexiest species in the galaxy. It's the inability to tell the consort et al to get the hell out of Shepard's personal space that really irritates me.

I take it that the OP don't like the Star Wars Twi'Leks either?
If you were playing Mass Effect and you saw a female Turian striping I don't know that you'd be able to tell if it was Female, same thing with Salarians, Elcor, and Krogan.
The Asari were designed to have the figure and frame of a female human. So there for the only Female dancers you find are Human and Asari.
Granted Bioware could maybe introduce some Female Drell, or maybe Batarians with a figure and frame like a human female.
Straight men are far more likely to find an alien attractive if she resembles a human female it's something they can relate to.

Have to confess, what with them being aliens and all, I rather picture batarian women to be rather like the dwarven broodmothers of Dragon Age: Origins.
No wonder Batarian men are so grumpy.

This is certainly one of the weirdest things I could read.  I'm not sure what you're trying to get across here.  Either that you lack an imagination to create something plausible, or that you feel that other people being imaginative is limited to only creating what you've described.  You need to give people more credit.  There are some really good writers who have created universes that try to stay plausible and that are not ridiculous.

Your arguments are just plain weird (talking about animal **** house?) so I think that will be the last thing I reply to.  And one last thing, you really need to stop talking about me as if I weren't here.  I'm reading this topic too you know.  You could have addressed whatever issues you had with my arguments directly to me instead of just talking about me and my arguments to someone else.

But whatever, just forget it and move on.

Meh, too each his/her own I guess. But I'm definitely with the OP, although not to that extreme. There's nothing that I find remotely interesting or sexy about a species of blue-skinned female aliens with tentacles on their heads. I'll stick with the human females. (And before you mention, YES I'm perfectly aware that they're a made up species, but still, the very thought about finding them sexy is repulsive to me)

Why exactly?

It's unnatural and immoral.

Slows population growth and is it not conductive to reproduction.

So are homosexual relationships and any others that happen to be free of children for whatever reason. Sense you make none.

I don't think those are necessarily good society either. They certainly aren't ideal.

Ah, and your previous avoidance of the homosexuality topic comes tumbling down. I suspected as much, truth be told.

Oh indeed.

My delicate house of cards. THRASHED! DESTROYED!

Here I am, caught in my own web of lies!

All my dastardly plans laid bare!

In any case, I hardly see that it's any of your business to say that consenting relationships are immoral. Really, in Mass Effect, we should probably focus less on reproducing and more on encouraging the heavily overpopulated Earth to bleed its population off elsewhere. Regardless of that, though, there's no moral imperative for anyone to reproduce.

I think I'm free to say whatever I want.

Yes and no. We need colonists to produce children and we need Earth to keep sending us more colonists.

Actually there is. People age. Eventually they can't work anymore. You thus need new people to work.

Well, legally, yes.

People are going to reproduce regardless; it's something most people want to do. Forcing those who don't want to reproduce to do so doesn't help anyone much.

I think part of the reason everyone is attracted to asari is because they were the first race to get out into the relay systems. No matter how many species found the relays after that, the asari were always the ones who were there first, they had the most time to spread out. I know that doesn't really give a fair explanation or reason but it may explain the familiarity that all these species have around them.

And it's not like I LOVE the asari either, I actually think they could tone it down some, but I don't hate them either some are very likeable. They're attractive I guess, but not my thing.

* the consort in my face is annoying though*

And why are the Asari the only dancers in all three games?

Do your research OP; half the dancers in Chora's Den are human
