Sucks for Kaidan... I'm glad Ashley has a unique outfit(and would like something unique for Kaidan as well). I know some of you prefer them to be wearing the same standard Alliance uniforms, but I for one prefer indivduality as opposed to the copy/paste outfits & bodies.

Sorry, I thought you were complaining about femshep so I got confused. Who knows maybe you'll be able to change Ashley's casual wear (20$$$$ DLC) I know EA would love to sell you super-ficial skins for like five bucks.

Ashley.

I can understand liking the outfit for it's own sake even though it's ugly as hell, but saying it was designed to make her look more like a military commander is just a steaming pile of galactic bullsh*t.

I would too, the black emporium saved me from having to restart my game like 20 times--to fix my fugly looking Hawke. . . one of the few things I liked about that game. . . hope they use it in more CC games. . .That and force mage--force mage was awesome

not attacking just asking but since when are marines not soldiers i know plenty of em who would vehemently disagree.

call a Marine and watch what happens, they're not "soldiers", thats Army, they're Marines, and any Marine who says s/he doesn't care about that clearly isn't a Marine (i've never met one and i know a lot being in the military myself)

they (Marines) pride themselves on that title, all Marines do, from the US to the UK to the ROK, its a title that few earn and with that comes a sense of pride

I like how Ashley looks, and as for the make-up, haven't you learnt anything from Hollywood, women can wake up and walk out of the shower with perfectly made-up face without having to put on any make-up, it's completely natural  

Just think of it this way, the dark eyes is just the shadows, and the eyeliner effect is caused by thick eyelashes.

I understand and agree completely, being very familiar with it myself.

BUT, speaking objectively, I can also see the other point of view. Any grunt is a soldier by definition, but not any grunt is a Marine.  I look at it this way:  If someone calls me a human, and I correct them and say "NO, I'm a MAN!", well we're both right.  I AM a human, but, more specifically and perhaps more importantly (if I were to take great pride in being a man) I am a man.

Marines have a different view of the term "soldier".  Same as saying "I don't carry a 'gun', I carry a 'rifle'.

Just my opinion.

Me? I don't care that she was redesigned. I don't care that she looks little like a military officer. Hell, I don't even care that she got hit by the Needed to be Sexy. My only question is:

Why is her outfit so damn hideous?

just b/c you don't like the design doesn't mean everyone doesn't like the design. obviously the devs and artists at BW liked it and put it in game, they probably had countless numbers of concept art and chose this

Wow, I knew there was a reason I like playing mass effect, rather than COD or Battlefield, I just couldn't put my finger on it. I mean I know it's based on reality, but it's set alomost 200 years in the future. Even if you hate the way she looks, I don't think this game would be better with more "military realism." We have games like that already! I understand some people don't like how Ashley looks, but ME doesn't need to be "realistic" to be good does it?

Maybe the new outfit is to highlight her status as a Spectre? Maybe a less armored version of Vasir´s normal gear.

pretty much, i'm not saying they're soldiers in terms of their job, but they're not Soldiers b/c they're Marines

most perfer to be called Marines or Warriors

i'm not upset over this, i really don't care b/c it is just a game . . . i was simply saying that ppl complaining about Ashley's new look isn't really "military" and was pointing out that BW isn't good when it comes to "real military application"

the whole idea that the Alliance is a combination of all services is really dumb, there's a reason all modern governments have different services, the personnel management, economical and logistical challenge is simply too overwhelming for one branch of government to run an entire military

but i really, really, really don't care, i'm not play ME b/c its a military sim, i'm playing b/c its just a great game (everything else is just nit-picking)
