The guide is too damn vague about getting it. Can someone post me a step-by-step thingie?

1. Get Sten to give you the quest and talk to him about where he lost the sword

2. Go to Lake Calenhad (where the ferry to the mage tower is) and talk to the scavenger there, he's just by the area entrance if you have the quest

3. Talk to Faryn just outside Orzammar

4. Talk to Dwyn in Redcliffe

5. Take sword from Dwyn's chest, if you don't find the chest, check the other room



Having Sten in your party will let you point out your "big, angry companion" to people unwilling to cooperate, but you don't need him in the party to get the sword.

I was sort of expecting more from this quest. Its Sten's Soul for Christ's sake. He sure seemed underwhelmed.



Maybe he's just always like that...

too bad you can't actually make sten do the things you suggested (in the dialogue) with this Farin, I m quite dissapointed <_<

Although I was pleased to see that similar things were possible in other parts of the game

Don't forget that the sword is a GIFT when you get it, so ya have to hand it over to Sten to make use of it, I still use the Maeshtar Waraxe over it though (for Sten, I've got my dude with Starfang equipped.)
