Hi folks.

So... what did you think of the single player Mass Effect 3 demo? What did you like, what did you not like? Please let us know here as we want to hear back from you.

I am creating a similar thread in the Multiplay forum for feedback on the Multiplay demo, so please use this one to discuss the Single Player demo. Thanks. :)

I loved the single player dmeo. I am planning on doing one playthrough as each gender and class later today! Things I don't like? Hm, It seems that when you are prompted to press A you stick to cover instead of doing the action. That kinda annoyed me. Only real issue with it.  O and how you cant change your camera when you're running. You'll run but your camera will stick to where it was when you started and it makes it hard to see around

Enforcing the 4 gun loadout in the second mission really crippled every class except the soldier in terms of gameplay. It will definitely discourage players who haven't played mass effect before and are trying the demo from using powers as they take too long to recharge with that many weapons equipped.

Other than that, the length was pretty good for a demo.

I like it alot.
The main thing that bothers me is the auto opening of locked doors. If there is no game involved it's pointless having locked doors at all. It just wastes time.
Hopefully it's just a demo space saver.
Other than that it was great, I love the new power trees.

edit: Also not sure about the new loadout system. I'll have to see how it works in game. Hopefully my soldier can still carry all 4 weapons he did without a negative impact. I think classes should be able to use what they previously did without penalty.

I hope the default "jog" will be faster in the main game, and general responsiveness of the camera.

Also I feel too many things are mapped to the A button without variation; for example double tap A to switch covers (aka roll) would be useful.

Should have allowed players an option to drop weapons for the second portion.

Squad didn't die much at all on hardcore which is a huge positive, and I can revive without a med-gel I think.

Enemy AI was much better as well and you couldn't "camp" for long

Other than that I love the new power speed to target and evolution system.

Thought the same thing.  Other than that though, the demo is AWESOME!  Really like all the new gameplay mechanics.

I enjoyed it, although the amount of auto-dialogue was worrying.

I loved it. I really enjoyed the fast, intense pacing of the story and everything. Makes sense given the circumstances. Some of the faces seemed a little stiffer than what I remember from ME2, which was probably the only negative that I had. Other than that, not much to complain about. Also, if that's a new actor for Mordin, I can barely tell. Impressive.

I really enjoyed it. The gameplay has improved quite a bit from Mass Effect 2. I like that enemies are more aggressive and function as a team rather than acting on their own. My squadmates seem to die less often, which is good. The music is simply amazing.

My only real complaints are the use of auto-dialogue and the default movement speed being a little too slow. Animations are weird, especially Anderson's. And the cool-downs were way too long, but that's because of the weapon loadout.

Overall, a really good demo.

Overall it was awesome, but did anyone unlock anything for Mass Effect 3 in the demo?

Is it possible for people to start stating what platform they are on so we can deduce if there are differences?

There was a moment where Shep comes up to the dying Cerberus goon, it seems like the camera shot was framed to allow a renegade interrupt. Obviously the demo wouldn't allow it, but it makes me wonder if you can walk up and Renegade shoot him in the head.

You should just unlock something for Amalur IIRC.

I really have no gripes with the demo, I've enjoyed it a lot.

Regarding the Kinect though, it worked very well when I had my TV volume on 1/2 mute, but the commands wouldn't go through when I had my volume on it's regular setting (I have mine at 25)

I mean do I have to basically be up, close and personal with my kinect to make it work? Suggestion?

Beyond that though, loved it. Big fan of the melee weapon, far better than throwing an elbow.

It was good fun, maybe not everyone was hoping to see but it is still only a demo after all. And is it me or was it easier to make a good looking Shep?

MP isn't available yet so I can't comment on that.

My opinion is pretty much this. No constant charging for me.

I enjoyed it but found the gameplay rather sloppy at time, I'm sure this is because its a demo, but other wise I am impressed.

I seem to be having problems with Grenades. They don't seem to be going towards the target I have selected. They either go over them, or no where near them. Including the sticky grenades. Help?

You know I have no idea. Try looking around your account on the EA site?

The demo was 'ok'

Good: background of opening level was awesome - size of Reapers looked great to me

Concerning: Why do the husks now just plop to the ground instead of exploding slightly? Hopefully just a demo issue. Lack of real dialogue options (i chose RPG mode) was hopefully another demo issue

Bad: level design very, very, very, very linear.

No clue. If your EA account that your stuff is linked to is also linked to this one try looking under "Registered game content"

Only problem I have is getting shot through cover, and I don't mean the head sticking out thing. LITERALLY THROUGH cover. Obviously it's the future and it would be hard to believe there wouldn't be upgraded fmj but it kinda defeats the point of a cover system if you can still be shot while in cover. Otherwise it was fantastic.
