There are a few things in this demo that absolutely did not work for me. Most notably the section on Earth for a series of reasons:
... SNIP ...
But I am under no illusion that the writing throughout ME3 is going to be any better than what the opening tutorial sequence has shown us. It turned out exactly as I feared.

Overall I enjoyed the demo.
I do however dislike:
The movement animations and speed. It looks and feels like you're running through water most of the time, very slow and sluggish, and some of the character animations are really bad. Yeah, I'm talking about Anderson as a prime example.
At 1080p on the PC the HUD/conversation interface is quite small. Not a major problem, but slightly annoying.
Character customization seems a bit limited, especially the same base hairstyle with slight variations making up almost a third of the available options (4 out of 13). If I can import my characters from ME2 with the exact same look then this won't be an issue though.
Automated door bypass? What's the use of even having bypass in the game then?
Story in the initial Earth section felt a bit underwhelming. Hopefully it's only because it's the tutorial area and/or the demo is a cut down version of what is going to be in the final version.
It will be really sad if the story elements of the final game in Shepard's story had to suffer because resources were allocated to do the gimmicky Kinect support and the Multiplayer portion of the game.

I'm a PC player, and one thing that bothers me is the differences in textures. Environments look good, but NPC's have incredibly blurry textures on their clothes. It was the same in ME2, and I had hoped it would've been improved by now. The squadmates look great but for example; the suit shepard wears in the intro is very blurry.

Solid demo, not great but solid.
Combat roll/cover system/melee system will take some getting used to but it won't be long until we're all flying around the battlefield with ease.
Camera Angle bugged me, liked the distance in ME1/2 better, we'll get used to it.
Dialogue didn't really bug me. Seemed to me like the main focus of the demo was on the combat and how BW has evolved it. Now if the dialogue is limited in the full game then I imagine there will be much more validated complaints, but as of now not so much.
Intro bugged me, but I've read the comics so the gap wasn't as large for me as others.
Weapons felt responsive, and the return of grenades is most welcome.
Look forward to the full release, pre-order confirmed.

Just finished my first play of it as an Adept on Normal in RPG Mode.
The combat is indeed much faster than in ME2, the cover system is nicely done. And you didn't joke about "Normal is the new Hardcore" slogan, difficulity went up quite a bit. I guess once I get used to the new pace and gameplay in general it'll be somewhat easier but on my first try, I died a lot, 4 or 5 times against the turrets. Oh and once I came very, very close to death against the Atlas unit, or rather, it's cronies.
The power upgrade system seems to be a hybrid of ME1 and 2's idea, overall, it works fine. I don't really understand the "Charisma" part, but I guess it'll be important story-wise in a way.
The sounds, music and video quality is great, but there're some minor animaion problems (Ashley/Kaidan face in the beginning for example). No big deal, though.
All in all you guys did a really great job! I can hardly wait for the full game!

Pro:
Graphics / Lighting huge improvement over ME2
System requirements - I can run it on an old laptop and pretty sure it will run on desktops you can pick up for $80 at a garage sale.
Audio, the echo when on the shuttle and the background noises are all realistic and sound great.
Imrpovements to combat are great - its fun to play.
The character upgrade is great. Find myself planning my upgrades a bit to work with each other.
Pre-rendered scenes - its been a long history of BioWare to have the pre-rendered scenes much lower than in game resolution (at least on PC) so there is a massive disconnect. Although you can sitll tell they're pre-rendered the lurch from in game engine to pre-rendered is much smaller and is another huge improvement.
Backgrounds - massive improvement over ME2. They don't feel as dead and lifeless anymore.
Cons;
Auto dialogue and general character dialogue - some of it seems out of character and the lack of dialogue choice is upsetting.
Textures - there are a few that stand out and are a little bland.
No holster - this one bothered me quite a bit, I realised how much time I spent holstering my gun when moving around previously.
Field of view is very cramped. I feel like I've got tunnel vision somewhat and find myself leaning into the monitor to try to compensate.
Notes;
The high quality water on Earth doesn't appear to be used on Sur'Kesh? Find that a little odd as it was really good quality and looked much better than the layered tissue paper of regular water in the ME universe.
The demo was obviously to showcase action, combat etc - but it still felt a little hollow, some of the dialogue felt a bit ham-fisted - the general "God help us", "Oh god" was used a tad too much and that with other dialogue took away from the sense of dread and terror a little.
Did I mention it will run on a shoe box with a power supply? The team deserves huge praise for this - they've really milked every millimetre out of whatever hardware you're using.

I've noticed that a lot was cut, to minimize spoilers and I could have sworn I heard a sound of interrupt being taken, when talking to the committee.
gameplay is fun and I'm glad I was able to remap my keys so that it felt closer to my ME2 setup. animations are better and emotions are more visible, though Femshep walked like she had a stick up her butt, at times... but.. I think I also recognize some of the animations from Dragon age 2.
lighting has... issues in places. the scene with a little boy - my Shepard was completely blacked out and its not just me either. character creator... I hope to all that's holy, that we'll get more options and that importing characters will preserve the features and coloring from ME1/2, becasue some of the options just looked... bleh. using facecodes, my Shepards didn't quite look themselves. part of it was eyes (I believe they are bigger) and part of it was facial structure I think. its like bones have gotten narrower or something...

Intro cutscene: Liked it. I honestly would have preferred the scene to be longer though with more dialogue. Nothing major, but just a couple of extra minutes worth, to allow a bit more discussion about what was going on pre-Reaper attack.
That is: if the Alliance didn't believe Shepard.. why were there at least one fleet in Earth's orbit and possibly others? When did the Alliance finally say "Okay we don't want to believe the Reapers exist but we'll put our fleets on high alert regardless." What did Shepard say/do to convince them? Were they preparing for days? Weeks? Immediately after the events of Arrival? Did Admiral Hackett play a large role in getting the Alliance fleets to follow his example in supporting Shepard?
Seeing the child/seeing him die: The CC made note of Shepard's psychological state after 'numerous' deaths and how it was finally starting to catch up with him. Does the child exist and it's yet another added to the tally that'll probably make Shepard snap? Or is it just a figment of his imagination, a visual representation of his psyche already starting to crack? Maybe Shepard's psychological state will be a plotpoint throughout the game, if so; I like it so far.
Combat: Don't have any gripes with it. Loved it.

I hate to write this and im sure all the devs hate to read this too, but i would like to be able to skip every cutscene like i can in TW2 and SWTOR.
While you are able to skip some cutscenes/cinematics, some of them dont allow you to skip them.
Just a small personal annoyance for future runs.

Loved:
-The guns feel very solid, and are fun to shoot.
-New skill/upgrade system looks deeper and more interesting.
-Exciting to see well-loved characters back in action
Hated:
-Sprint/Cover/Roll/Use/Mount/Jump button now one hot mess of frustration.
-FOV seems very narrow, and had a hard time taking in surroundings.
-Being unable to holster the gun really hurts immersion.
-Ashley got all tarted up. Barely recognized her.

There was an earlier posted that caught it too, the jog speed is really slow and kinda clunky. The run sprint speed is great but a pain to steer. This became a problem when running from the atlas. If I wanted to fall back from cover to the next cover sprinting made me overshoot the rear cover most the time, and jogging made me take a rocket to the face.

Absolutely first rate! One of the best parts of the ME2 was the opening -- a jaw-dropping beginning. ME3 does not let us down. The opening story conveyed both the enormity of the evasion--falling building, exploding ships, masses of Reapers. But it also individualized it with the story of the young boy, made it personal and therefore more emotional. That is storytelling, and that is why I love the work Bioware does. If the rest of the game keeps up the balance of action and first-rate writing, we are in for one heck of a finale to this series.
My only suggestion is that the tutorial part of the game incllude a specific use of the new "power punch". I didn't notice that it did it, so when the option came up in combat, I was not immediately sure what to do.
Other than that, top rate from start to finish. To spend as many hours with this game as so many players have, is to really invest in the story. But that is only possible because the Bioware people have great writers that give the people depth, and great game designers that make it all flow together.
Thanks for the Demo, and some really great work. Now -- get back to work getting rid of any of those stray bugs that might still be there!

The gameplay, the music was very good, the cutscenes an the ending were all great. However I think the introduction should have been longer, it also needed more dialogue and less automated responses. I hope BioWare meant what they said when they tweeted about having more dialogue. Nonetheless after the Earth part's ending I ended up liking Earth even with all its flaws more than the Salarian homeworld.

Start with the bad stuff:
360 Cons:
- A lot of the new animations and combat performance feels very wooden and puppet-like.
- The new gun sound effects for some of the iconic weapons are jarringly lackluster at best.
- Combat feels slower paced and fickle when compared to the other 2 games. Often times I aim directly at an opponent and the reticle turns red but I actually don't impact an enemy who is standing out of cover without any form of shield before them.
- Running and sprinting look clumsy and distract from the familiar motions that the character's once had.
- It feels almost nessicary to melee some opponents.
- Cerberus soldiers "thug-like" and sluggish. I don't feel like I'm fighting highly trained soldiers from an intergalactic super power. Instead, I feel as if I'm mindlessly pelting goons from Doom II who haphazardly wander into my line of fire, even on the hardest difficulty.
- "Transformers" Feedback noises nice, but cliche.
- Guns feel heavy clunky and awkward as if being used by a recruit, not a seasoned killing machine.
- Forced-to-feel emotional inflection towards a hoody-wearing duct-rat in the beginning of the game is short and not enough is shown or known.
- Feels linear.
- The heavy melee attack is attractive.
- Explosions are sharp and crisp.
- The voice acting doesn't feel as good as it was, but still is nice to hear familiar voices.
- Glad to not see Graphical pop-in.
- New combat manuvers nice, but not needed. Makes hiding from bullets quicker.

Here's what i didn't like
Beginning made no sense
Why am i here? who is that guy? wheres my ship? does no one give a **** about all those batarians?
I though we are supposed to be on trial but now it seems you have cut that to help new players (who haven't bought the perious games btw..)
Lip Syncing was out of time
Pretty simple, lips should move at the same time as the voice coming out of them
UI is way too small on high resolutions
Having to squint to try and figure out which powers are which gets tedious at best
No more manual bypassing
For a game that is supposed to be increasing the RPG elements this doesn't go down very well
Combat navigation is impossible
It shouldn't take 3 attempts to leave cover because your character is leaping between boxes and doorways and backflipping into enemies.
Unable to holster weapon
Might not seem important but i don't want to be stuck with a terrible camera angle right behind shepards head that cannot be rotated when i'm not shooting at anything
Running animations look static
I actually found myself looking at my feet for most of the demo to remind myself that i'm moving forwards, the upper body does not move at all and looks very strange.
Mordin
Was it me or does his voice sound different?
Some of these points are more important than others but it's worth getting them out there so the devs might actually read this stuff.. heres hoping

I loved it. The 4 gun "policy" was slightly annoying, aswell as that "press A" promt that would end with you getting into cover, but those are really small problems compared with the awesome enhanced audio, enemy AI and the beautiful graphics. Good Job Bioware

Pros:
-The lighting looks great on the environments
-Character models are noticeably more detailed
-The sound design is fantastic, very visceral.
-A.I. is leaps and bounds above the previous game.
-Deeper leveling
- Expanded maneuverability in combat.
Cons:
-The walk/run animations are comically bad
- lip sync is really spotty
-Texture quality is pretty bad across the board
-The Intro was rushed shallow and very poorly written.

My only major complaint is the persistent third person view that cannot be modified. It works great in cover, but when moving around, Shepard is blocking a big part of the screen, as much as a quarter at times. I also want to enter first-person view when I aim down the sight, which now just zooms in a bit more with Shepard still blocking part of my view. This whole interface/mechanic should be improved for the next ME game.
The ambience for Earth could also use some work. I see the giant Reaper in the background blowing up a dreadnaught, but I feel detached from the invasion. Despite the occasional scripted event that block a path or collapse a walkway, I felt the invasion was showing on a big movie screen in the background of what I was doing. I don't mind this for ME since ME missions have always been small scale tactical action; only the story is expansive. If you are going to do more of this kind of major battles, you probably want to do them differently.
Everything else is pretty much what I expected and feels worth my $80 pre-order. Ashley looks better than ME1, so I got no complaints. The story is impossible to judge from the demo but as long as you guys keep up the good work from ME 2, it'll be just perfect. I wish my squadmates will provide more useful audio cues during combat in future games, but the sound is fine right now. The voice recognition is great for commanding squadmates without opening the menu; I hope you integrate it to the PC version in the future, maybe for another game.
Oh, this last point isn't anything concrete, but it feels like you guys are holding back. I have seen the occasional criticism of the little boy in the Earth mission. I don't have anything against him. In fact, I don't feel anything about his life or his death. I was immensely relieved when I rescued Dr. Chakwas and Kelly in ME 2. However, in the face of a genocidal invasion of Earth, where no doubt thousands if not millions of little boys are dead or dying, one boy whom I met for only a minute just doesn't seem to matter that much. Personal tragedy, even a small one, can have deep emotional impact. A lot more strangers have to die or suffer a lot worse than shown in the demo to have the same intensity. This is Mass Effect, not some rated T or E family game. It's about Ragnorak, the struggle at the end of the world, of all life. It should fight hard, die hard, and love hard.
