Downsides: No sniper rifles or loadout customization (huge problem considering weight system), andrenaline rush has delay and lacks feeling of feedback (very noticable for a widow soldier on insanity), corner turn is sometimes unresponsive, squad ammo nerfed.

I think that the weapon weight/power cooldown relationship needs to be made more explicit. I thought I knew about all the gameplay changes but apparently missed this one and didn't know about it until reading this thread. If I was a new player, I'd probably think these powers are really cool, but I only get to use them once every 10 minutes.
I also would have liked a taste of the weapon and armor customization, just to get a feel for it.
I dislike how Shephard can be shot in cover now, especially given the segmented health bars. I know others will disagree, though.
And although I don't normally notice these things,I do think the sprinting animation looks odd.

when I did it the Normandy just refused to come until I returned to Anderson even after about twice the normal wave countAlexMBrennan wrote...
Oh, and vanguard charge still breaks a lot of things, assuming the Normandy's missiles aren't meant to hit within inches of Shepard.

If i was in cover and used tactical cloak enemies would sometimes almost jump into turbo speed and zip to the nearest cover point. It didnt happen all the time however; I could only get it to occur in the first portion of the demo.

I also did not like the unnatural oily sheen that seems to coat everything.
Combat felt similar to ME2, but was somewhat numb and detached. Cover isn't very sticky.
Not sure why I'm bothering to type this. The game has gone gold. What's the point of asking for feedback now?

Running looks downright silly.
Facial Customization seems far too simplistic. I don't even think it can handle moving my characters over from ME2 because there isn't enough options to really get their faces down.
I like that I seem to have full access to weapons again but, WHERE THE HELL IS MY SNIPER RIFLE? Have those been removed from the game?
Not a fan of Grenades so far at all... They've been useless, useless, and even more useless so far. You aim at something and it either falls short or goes way the hell too far... Which might be okay because grenades have a blast radius right? Well these ones seem to have a blast radius of about 5-6 inches. It might be okay still if they weren't limited in number. If you are gonna limit the number of grenades you should A) Make them way more awesome, and
I never liked Ammo as a power but could live with it because you don't run out. However having only 3 or 4 uses of a pretty useless power on a mission. I can't ever see myself spending points into Frag Grenade.
However with these things aside I was excited to see it! It looks like it's gonna be a blast to play so long as I can get a Sniper Rifle and they do something to fix grenades!

As usual, I can get lost in character creation: I have spent as much as 90 minutes creating the right 'look' for some of my characters in ME 1 and 2, I could easily spend more than that in ME 3. The hair and makeup are quite nice this time around, particularly the hair choices.
Went in as an infiltrator and thought Starr was going to end up getting her butt handed to her a few times, but managed to survive.
At level up, I was a bit confused about the powers selection, but easy enough to catch on to. It just seemed a bit more complex with multiple menus than it needed to be.
Animation on my 1920*1080 resolution setting was a bit choppy at times, I'll have to try a some lower resolutions and see how well that does.
Over all, I am pleased with what I saw on my first run through the demo... pleased enough that I may not get any sleep tonight!

Got to the next part and spent a couple minutes setting up powers. Not very intuitive to have to go to a separate menu for every power you upgrade. Some Cerberus guys showed up, I shot them, then I noticed the exact same bug as ME2 had (you try to hotkey a power, but instead it takes a different power and you can't hotkey any of them). The game then proceeded to crash.
Yeah. Can't skip the intro sequence so I won't be playing this again tonight. The shotguns seemed nice, it had more of a ME1 feel, and so did the mission. But the incredibly overwrought intro (seriously, DO NOT just put the first section of a game as an unskippable demo section) and instability really turned me away from this.

Those are really my only complaints, the game was amazing. Story, cinematics, writing, voice acting, was all phenomenal. Finally got to see Earth other than the picture on the galaxy map, and it was breathtaking. Great job, looking forward to launch.

Most of this has been beaten to death already, but whatever. Overall I liked it quite a bit. Combat was more dynamic, and I definitely liked the sound and level design. I also really liked the new method of doing the health bar; it made medkits relevant again. Graphics were noticeably nicer in most respects.
Cons:
-Running was too slow, and sprinting to compensate didn't work too well.
-Cover was wonky for me. I'd attach to places I didn't want to, then have problems getting away from it when I needed to.
-Maybe it was just me, but the lip synching seemed terrible, at least for the first mission. I'm gonna chalk that up to it being a demo.
-Intro felt rushed. I knew that the trial was a non-starter from other threads, but I still wish it would have been there.
-HUD and dialogue lines were too small on a 1080p screen, IMO.
-I really, really would have liked to see an upgrade bench.

The bad:
1 - No holstering! Ive heard why, but its really my biggest issue, as taking in the vistas and getting a better camera view of the environs and admiring your kitted out Shepard is now impossible, biggest dissapointment so far.
2 - The shield/health/squadmate meter - its huge! And why doesnt it dissapear or fade away after a few seconds? It makes the visual presentation feel cheapened - i really hope they include an option to turn it off as they give you a screen full of blood when your about to die - you hear your shields pop and choose your squad members and their quick use abilities so why the need to remind the player in a huge waste of screen space. Plus it just makes it look more 'gamey'.
3 - The cover system - with the added combat dive its made getting into cover clunky as hell, im sitting there rolling around like an idiot and getting shot up when that used to just be one button and done - shouldnt the roll be a double tap? I thought they focus tested games these days - and no one mentioned that? I tested out the cover usage and you have to have a pretty favourable camera angle for it to work right - and in the thick of combat you might run alongside cover, and expect to be able to snap in - but now you have to line up the camera to be more direct with it, otherwise roll round like an idiot.
4 - The intro - what the heck happened to Shepards trial? At the end of me2 arrival dlc he is told he has to face the music back on earth after his actions there, and now we skip ahead past all that? Would have been awesome to see and dont know why in such an awesome dialogue heavy game they would pass up the option to do a trial - wasted opportunity.
The good:
1 - The new powers per class are freaking awesome! Not many demos ive played six times plus, but mass effect is special like that
2 - The power upgrades are very smartly done, nice upgrade choices and the visual stats are wicked to see.
3 - Garrus. This should be number one actually.
4 - The enemies are way better now! Insanity will not be so easily done this time.
Oh yeah - and to also file under good are:
the melle kills
being on earth!
the amount of allies in the 2nd mission - wrex, mordin (does he sound different?) liara and GARRUS.
and Kirahee's gun! I hope garrus can get one!

The Pros:
-First and foremost thank you for letting me choose who died Ashley or Kaidan from the very beggining.
- The visuals of the invasion and running through buildings outside was epic.
- Seeing Anderson interact with Shepard.
- The roll to avoid is great
-The blue style to the menus and everything, I love blue.
- Heck even the clothes are even more cooler than before!
-The female krogan was awesome and yay Mordin is back
Cons:
- James Vega barely had anything to say, and we never knew if he managed to survive the invasion or where was he or anything.
- The meeting with the court or whatever, had some pretty awful dialogue. I mean really what do we do? there is nothing we fight. WHAT DO WE DO COMMANDER. If they were really authorities they didn't seem to show it, they were really weak in character for politicians, politicians are idiots but not morons.
- in terms of action, I did had the same problems with avoiding enemy fire. And the last segment of the second mission had a very small space to fight that mech, plus also adding extra troops, making me change from normal combat to casual combat. Overall, it seemed to focus too much in making combat harder, very different to the easiness of the very first part of the demo.
These may sound harsh cons but I believe you probably have fixed this in the full game by now. And well Mass effect 1 and 2 have been perfect so of course we want this to be a perfect ending lol.

1. Reapers...How can any one prepar for a reaper invation?Obro wrote...
-Writing....
I mean do you really expect anyone to believe that the freaking Earth Defense Force actually had no plan in case of a alien invasion in a universe where it's known that there are aliens with massive fleets around and have been in a war with one of them and let's not even mention bunch of Earth war experiences?
Also the kid ...I mean who is he? Why is it so focused on him and what happens to him ...when we don't even know who he is and he doesn't have any emotional connection to the characters we know? For the amount of time given to him I don't consider him more than just a bunch of pixels. You could just cut out that entire part and save us the cutscene time.
And the third thing about writing..reapers are as Shepard says in speach : smarter more intelligent better ect than us. Then why does that reaper target a shuttle with 10 people instead of a freaking NORMANDY?
2.It's more of a connection to the setting for the events. He there to inspire loss , pity and regret.
3.Stealth ship in a choatic battle ofcourse slips through.

It's in the Mass Effect 3/Binaries folder by default!
PS. Doesn't help horrendous clothes/armor textures but the game is pretty, otherwise!

The good:
- The enemy AI.
- Shepard can move about in the enivronment more smoothly and naturally, same with the enemys (liked how the Husks climed up the side of the building, it pushed their creepyness level up anther notch)
- more customisation with leveling up powers etc.
- the cinematic quality of the game, i.e. the music and cutscenes.
- the voice acting is much better (espically from ManShep)
The ehhhhhh:
Animation is a little bit hit and miss at times i.e. the facial animations in cutscenes at times look good, but then go stiff. Same with textures, the closer texters, on say Shepard and Anderson's clothing, looked good and far better then what was in ME1/2, but the textures on further away stuff like the buildings within the rest of what-ever city that was, look poor incomparason.
And the not-quite-sure:
(As I obversely don't know whats in the full game) but as many people have pointed out, and whilst I mostly liked the intro to the demo, it felt a bit crammed and rushed leaving me with more questions then answers as to what on Earth is going on, but I suppose bits might have been cut or more is explained on the Normandy (as I said it depends on whats in the full game) and Shepard's dialogue seemed to flow on by without much input from the player but again it might just be that way for the demo, I'm not sure.
But eitherway, can't wait for the 9th of March when I can finally play ME3 with my Shepard

1.The demo was fine...gameplay was as good as ME2. However...why do I have to watch so many conversations on autoplay even when I am playing it in RPG mode?
2.I think the Mattock was nearly as good as it was back in ME2. Maybe it will be a difficulty in Action mode. The Avenger assault rifle is definitely better this time.
3.Another issue...although it has nothing to do with the demo...I am no big fan of Ashley...but after the Intro mission I am feeling really sorry for her. Bioware made her behave like a VI this time. Maybe its just me.
4.I noticed something that bothered me though...I was customizing my Shepard's looks for fun...and I couldn't find a couple of hairstyles from the previous two games. Is that going to be a problem if I import my ME2 character. I spent a lot of time to build his face back then and I don't want to reconstruct the face when I start playing the game proper. Any idea guys and gals?
