Rolling away from a grenade and sometimes still take fatal damage...
Weird. Sometimes enemies seem to shot through cover.(mission on earth)
And the sound was really muted.

Enjoyed the combat, liked the graphics, intro felt rushed, pacing was awkward, most of the dialogue was good and the music/sound was amazing. Overall, the demo made me even more excited for the game.

My only major gripe is the autodialogue. There'd better be a TON of permutations and variable outcomes if 3/4 of Shep's lines are automated like they are in the demo. The demo felt more linear and more restrictive than anything I've yet played in the Mass Effect series, which isn't a good feeling considering that ME2's demo had so much more choice in it.

I played through it only once so far (Vanguard, Insanity, PC version).

My observations:

Demo-only issues (hopefully):

Narrow FoV with no option to change it.
I know this is only a demo, so hopefully the full version has more options.

Very small text (hotbar, subtitles..).
Again, no option to adjust the size of the font.

Lack of loadout customization.
This is a mistake on your part, BioWare, because the demo does not give the players a chance to play around and properly review the combat system etc.

Random FPS drops.
Hopefully, this is demo-only issue.

Wrex sounds like Wreav on the radio during the Sur Kesh level.
Hopefully, this is demo-only issue.

More serious concerns:

The controls are not good.
One key for sprint, cover and roll is just bad. PC keyboard has a lot of keys, please let us use it!

The running animation is robotic.
Not much to add here, it does not look good.

The good:

Great sound effects.

Easily the best in the series so far.

Better enemy AI.
Again, easily the best in the series. I really enjoyed killing them.

Better squadmate AI.
Yay!

Combat is fun.
Better AI, better level design, more powers for Shepard and squadmates = great work and kudos to BioWare's gameplay team.

BSN has been that way for a while, BentOrgy. Most of the "mature" people have quit the forums (can't say I blame them).

i enjoyed it for the most part and will surely play it... things that bothered me, running animation, some animation w/ heavy melee attack not connecting correctly, taking cover via accident, texture seems weird on pc, some lip-sync issues and controls pretty fast could be one of the reason why i am having controls issue with mouse and keyboard.

all in all i think this problem will just grow on me eventually but i wish i didnt have this feeling unlike when i first played ME2 :(

Oh trust me, I know.

Its sad that fools like Saphra are still posting regularly, but people like AdmiralCheese and Mesina don't post as often. (From the threads I've been in anyway.) At least that idiot EliteMidget finally went away.

I love the demo, To be honest it felt like more of a beta than a demo, the issues I had was that the cinematic in some places didn't feel smooth like it was lagging due to graphics performance that cant be right as I have a geforce gtx 465, the other issue I didn't like was when I was in cover and I quickly wanted to get up and run forward or just get up and run, I would always end up rolling around the place. Apart from that controls felt good, I like the fact that i can run at decent speed and for longer now. Oh and in some dialog when talking to Anderson their lips don't move??? hence why it feels more like a beta than a demo. PC version.

But it fell 100% short in terms of emotional impact. Mostly because the opening sequence felt way too abrupt and deadpan. Especially for newcomers to the series, the opening sequence gave absolutely no sense of the immediacy, danger, fear, etc. that should have been going through people's minds.

The way everyone talks about it in the beginning, the vocal delivery and body language, just make the whole thing feel like, "ho hum, blahblahblah, same old, just another day." I think the officers in the very beginning should have been moving faster, speaking more nervously; Anderson should have RUN up to Shepard instead of casually walking up; been like "Shepard, they need you right now! Something BIG is coming our way!" Shepard and Anderson start sprinting to the defense council. Shepard (worriedly): "What is it? The Reapers!?" Instead of all this casual strolling around and behaving in the same way as if Anderson had just announced they were going to get ice cream.
.

I don't agree, I loved the sort of forced calm/suppressed panic atmosphere in the intro.

I was hoping to test out the multiplayer now that I finished the SP demo, but it couldn't establish a connection to the server when I was trying to search for a game.

For those who haven't discovered it yet, while the MP demo unlocks on the 17th, you can unlock it early once you finish the SP demo if you have a Facebook account by using the ME3 Recruitment App and recruiting your friends.

360 and PC only for that ME3 Recruitment App and here i got all exicited too.

I really liked the single player demo.  It is going to make waiting until 3/6 really hard now.  I preordered the Limited Edition game and Collectors Edition guide from Gamestop already.  I liked commanding my comrades to use certain abilities or to move or stay put with voice commands.  I look forward to more of that.  Now if I could just get the multiplayer mode to work...
I have all the DLC packs for 1+2, so I have no idea what is wrong with it.

I think its the fact that it wasn't directed or delivered very well is the major problem. That entire scene lasts for about... Two minutes, maybe, and BOOM, we're already shooting. There's no exposition, no reason to care why people are on edge, its just... There.

The Multiplayer feature in the demo is good although I was sceptical about it. The single-player demo was though a bit of a disappointment. I expected more of the intro, there was a lack of dialogue options in the first level. Second level was a tad better but felt lacking compared with the levels of previous games.

EDIT: I'll get the game regardless ^^

guys calm down, you have to remember that the demo was released to get people that normally wouldn't play the game to find a reason to buy it.... Everyone on here needs to remember that we are the backbone of mass effect, we are going to buy this game and more to come, bioware didn't release this just to appease us it is about making money at this point.

They know that we will buy the game, but I am fairly confident that they would also like to make as much money as they can, so don't worry about everything in the demo having to do with combat, they will make sure that they wrap this story up in the very best way possible.

All I am saying is reserve judgement on the story until the FULL game is released...

Thank you bioware it looks awesome

Thing is, they DO need to market to us fans too.
I just cancelled my pre-order because after the demo I intend to try the game (not pirate, mind you) and read the reviews before I spend any money on it. I'm not saying the demo was bad, but there were enough concerns in it to make me hesitant about buying the game.

I agree with that too, but I'm pretty sure the actual game will have a lot more lead up, at least I hope. Vega never even gets a proper introduction, I think that's an obvious indicator that the demo is just pulled from the larger intro scene. Hopefully I'm not wrong.

You should really be able to initiate a melee attack when in cover. I was in cover when I realized a cerberus agent was shooting me in the back. I turn around and spammed the melee button. Nothing.

Also, I ran out of ammo extreemly quick while waiting for normandy to pick me up. Emptied both the rifle and pistol a good 20 seconds before the cut scene engaged. My aim was fairly decent, and I cleared out 2 1/2 waves. Then I just had to sit there and wait.

Also, the blade needs a sort of lock on feature. Several times when I initaited a power bash I would miss because the enemy took 1 step sideways. This was esspecially prevailent in mp.

Very disapionted in the mp demo... was looking forward to a taste of some pvp action, not some coop fortress defense stile game. Also, one time I died and glitched through the floor. Had to sit out a round of two before I randomly respawned at the begining of a new round.

The cut scenes were beautiful but I hope we get some improved realtime graphices on realease. They are no better than me2. The facial expressions were very lackluster, sometimes not existant. Also, why the heck can I not vault most of the low level barriers?! One last thing... it is really anoying not being able to change cover to barriers infront of you... I had to exit cover, run around it, and then finally be able to sprint to the barrier. By that time I had three enemies already taking advantage of an open target... me. Gotta wait for shields to regen now...

The demo was excellent but certain things annoyed me. When you play as default femshep and you have tech armor enabled, the hologram constantly clips through her hair. Also animations for femshep in general looked weird. It's like male shep's animations were copied and used for femshep animations. Apart from these nitpicks, I am slightly worried that Shepard spoke on his own way too much in the introduction. If you remember in ME1 and ME2, we had control of everything Shepard said even in the intros.

Agree with the super small text and ability icons.
Also ran into some problem getting out of cover. Playing PC version in ME2 pressing space would make you pop out of cover but I can't seem to do that in ME3, it just make me jump out to the next cover. Or maybe it's just me but how do I slide over a corner during cover?
Oh and is there a mini-game for unlocking door? I see the circle spinning and turning from red to green and again and again and then it open after I press space many many times.

Otherwise I loved the new ability upgrade screen, awesome charging omni-blade attack, AI seems a lot smarter, new health system makes medi-gel more useful, and Ashley is looking good!

I think that's where a lot of us are at right now. Mac Walters said in a tweet that Bioware "Usually," shoots for "A minimum of three." Dialogue choices, yest we've only been given two every time. And the Vega point is a good one, hadn't occured to me actually.

Loved the demo on PC. Combat is great fun and graphics look great. Sound design was also up a notch. Only thing slightly worrying was the lack of dialogue choices in the demo, but following the development and given the history of ME games, I am not all too worried for the full game. Still, that might be a good point for some reassuring, if people seem to go nuts.

Few more weeks...

I am pretty sure the main game is fine, remember stuff was cut from it to fit the 2gb frame that Xboxlive requires. You can blame the lacking on that because the whole demo felt cut in Earth part and Surkesh, I swore i remember the E3 showcasing of these parts showing a third option on the dialogue wheel

I liked it. A lot. I'm more excited than ever about ME3.

(But what happened to FemShep's hair? It used to part on the side now it has migrated to the middle?)

I giving serious thought to taking annual leave in order to play this. Damn you, Bioware.

I'm enjoying the demo. So far I've fun through as a Soldier, an Engineer, and an Adept. Vanguard's next after I write this :). At first the controls felt a little wonky, but that was because I was trying to play it like ME2. Once I started adapting to the new controls, I found myself sliding across the battlefield quite efficiently. The enemies are certainly improved too and the battles feel much more dynamic than in ME2.

I'm really liking the changes to the leveling system (and I'm glad we're given enough points to max out a power). I'll bet when I can lighten my loadout it'll be awesome to spam powers instead of having to shoot so much. Can't wait to strip off my engineer's guns so she can keep covered by her drone and turret at all times without that 10 sec cooldown.

Graphics are nice. I'm on PC so it's basically 360 graphics with 60fps and higher resolutions. The textures could be better but I think they've made improvements in shaders and lighting. It's pretty much what I expected. Though I noticed an option to turn on anti aliasing in the config, which is a nice addition.

The sound is quite an improvement imo. The guns in particular have a lovely punch to them. Hearing reapers everywhere is pretty interesting after two games of it being such an ominous sound.

The story I can't say much about, as I've seen all the cutscenes countless times already :). They're so out of context and there is so much cut that I'm not forming an opinion. The digital acting, however, I think has gotten much better. I noticed right away that they are using their eyebrows a lot more, as well as making a lot of improvements to their eye acting (which is one of the most important things imo). Unfortunately, walking animations are still bad. Both male and female Shepards still look like they have a mild hernia most of the time. I'm not sure why Bioware has so much trouble making nice walking animation without clipping problems.

I'm a bit disappointed at some oversights or design decisions, such as the lack of film grain (sometimes I liked that 35mm effect). Also they seem to have forgotten to scale some things with the resolution for the PC version, as the dialog wheel is really small (looks like maybe the targeting reticle too). And btw, since it was such a highly requested thing, why can I still not hit "u" to goto my squad screen?

All in all I'm looking forward to the game as much as ever.

My 2¢
