Well have to say I really enjoying the demo! Obviously it is only a couple of snippets for the game and there is stuff that happens before and after it. Graphically on my (albeit high end) PC it looked great! Weapons sound great too!

I hope the armour customisation in the MP is also available in the SP and that there are some more hair styles to choose from as nonE of them looked great. Good to see some helmet toggle options too. However one thing I felt was missing was a CROUCH button as we had in ME1 - it gives more tactical options and offers player choice!

And the dialogue wheel and HUD was pretty small at 1920x1200 and need adjusted as it is almost too small to read.

But all in all very encouraging start although haven't got my head around the MP but that's a different thread!!

Yes, I had that issue too, just forgot to mention it. Thanks for saying, El-Capitain.

Contrary to what most people are saying, I absolutely adore the gun sounds! Especially the rifle you get in part 2.

I was supremely disappointed in the writing, I didn't feel a twinge of emotion throughout the entire demo apart from two occasions - During particularly epic musical scores, which I really appreciate, and the first time I fired the rifle at someone's head in part 2 and his head exploded into a gory mass.

Combat feels a little too Gears-ey and I don't like how bulky and GENERIC SPACE MARINE everyone looks. Also, the noses are bloody huge! My Shepard ended up looking like a dork and it bothered me throughout.

Ashley is not pretty.

On the other hand, Liara IS pretty! :D

Garrus looks great and, as always, his voice work is fantastic.

The controlls for running and getting to cover need fixing, you're always seem to get in cover while you're trying to escape something. The overall experience was very good and i loved the different options in evolving your character. One problem though my final rank in fitness with my vanguard didn't seem to work as prompted(huge boost in biotic charge recharge speed).Am i understanding it wrong or is it bugged?

Probably a good thing since many players would probably end up with Shepard in a dungeon.

Why not. It was funny to get executed in kotor if the player made the wrong speech.

First of all, thanks for releasing the demo. I almost couldn't believe it's here after these two long years.

My observations:
1. Putting aside my slight disappointment to know the main focus will be on Earth, landscapes in the demo were very nicely done.
2. It's kind of hard to run in different angles. Shepard heavily tends to run in one direction and changing that makes the character move only a bit into a specific direction. Maybe it'd be adjusted by increasing a mouse sensitivity but I didn't have that issue in previous installments.
3. Team mates feels more like autonomous persons in a combat situation. They actively use their powers and moves more flexibIy without special need to . I like that a lot. On the other side, it's sort of hard to tell how much health they still have.
4. An absence of the film grain (probably demo-specific) was missed.
5. A default face of female Shepard looks like a character from a cartoon series, even Jade from Beyond Good and Devil would be more suitable for the role ;). A lack of real model for the character is considerably felt. Nonetheless, I look forward to play for "my" customer Shepard.
6. An interaction between characters seemed to be more rushed and Shepard felt "****ier" than usual.
7. A lack of bypass action was surprising. I'd welcome to see an actual hack action directed by a player (so the sense of playing is bigger than watching the action around) but I don't mind if it is missing.
8. Is it only me or Ashley looks really different now? I remember her as a soldier type who can act a bit harsh sometimes but she made a fashion model sense about her here.
9. Combat was nicely done, too. It felt dynamic.

I played PC demo with ATI HD 6870 on the screen resolution 1920×1080, normal difficulty and an usual ME experience (full dialog choice, etc.).

It was a pleasure to see a majority of former team mates. Geez, just March, 9th seems to be so far, far away, it's hard to concentrate on anything :).

Good post. About your #2, ME1 we can control direction as we sprint. In ME2 we cannot. ME3 is very similar to ME2.

I play on PC with a GeForce 9600GT and game runs great, surprisingly. But at 1680x1050 the HUD, subtitles, UI, etc. is very small. How is it at 1920x1080?

1. Animation quality is bad. Seeing Anderson run in front of me, just made me laugh.
2. Textures are really bad. I'm hoping for a texture pack. Like soon.
3. New Shep combat suits are too bulky. Looks weird. Might just be the thing you get for the demo level though.

Apart from those points the game is pretty much what I expected. I'm in just to see Shepard's story end.

Great demo. No real complains at the moment, minor issues I have but tis only a demo.

Cerberus has sure stock up loads of grenades since I last worked with them and why didnt TIM gave me one of those Atlas in ME2. ~grumbles~

Cant wait to play the real thing.

And yes Liara is HOT. Too bad Ashley looks like my secretary/personal assistant more than a soldier now :P

I was going to try the demo, then I saw Origin requirement, so I didn´t....

Then you'll have a hard time playing the full game next month since you need Origin to activate it.  You don't need it after that, but you will have to use it once.  And it's not like you don't already have an EA account since the one you use here is the same one that Origin uses.

Yes, well the difference is I do not need origin currently even if I have this account, origin is not going on my machine, not now, not ever.

And I will not be buying the game because it requires origin.

On PC
Underwhelming.
Sub par graphics for 2012, Animations far below that you would expect from a AAA product that is focusing on cinematic enjoyment. Long unskippable movies before you could try different classes. (fine on the first or second run, but if im trying a demo I want to try different classes to plan in advance, so If you can skip, tell me!)

I will buy it, I will play it, but I hope the finished product is more polished.

but I very much liked the changes to vanguard.

Hi. I'm enjoying the demo, been a ME fan since 1st game. I'd like to propose the devs adding an option so I can toggle aim with right click instead of having to hold down the mouse button. I don't say remove the actual way to aim, but add the other way and let players choose. This is present in most shooting games and I'm sure it's easy to implement. I'm asking because for some people with disabilities like myself it's real hard to aim the actual way. Hope you can help us, thanks in advance.

I understand that the demo will not be representative of the final game, and that dialogue options were cut, things may change, and that the scenarios shown are but a tiny portion of the whole experience. Now this is said, I can niggle.

I understand that Femsheps face was voted on by the community. From looking at pictures, I was impressed - I thought she looked pretty hot and probably how I would have created my character had I the option to make one like her, however she looks so fake and cartoony compared to default male shep. Also, her facial animations really didn't look great, and quite often her mouth looked funny. Its not a biggie, but I expected a greater degree of realism here, especially with all the hype about Femshep flying about.

Linked to this, is the continued lack of customisation options in character creation - as far as I can tell, I can make the same looking characters as I could in the previous two mass effects, and there are no new facial features to choose from, or a greater range of hairstyles. This was one of the things I was so jealous of the PC version for - being able to make your character the way you want it really makes a difference to the experience, enough of a difference that some of my created characters I opted to keep my helmet on the entire time because they looked so awful when talking..I did make some good ones, its just that I have already spent hours creating characters using the same tools in the previous games, would some more adventurous new features be so hard to add?

I looked silly running around with my gun out the whole time, I don't need a holster button - it could just as easily be programmed to be put away when enemies are not around until you press the fire button or enter cover. Again, no biggie but slightly affects immersion.

After exploring the levelling options in each character class I like the diversion within trees, although its basically a slight extension to picking between the two final abilities in ME2 and mostly a choice between the same things either weapon damage or power duration/recharge time, more powerful ammo or sharing it with the rest of the squad etc. Its an improvement, but it doesn't feels like it adds much of anything new. The new melee attack is nice, the addition of grenades is also welcome - as is anything new and useful, even if I wont use them that much. Is that it though? Surely there must be some more stuff to unlock for shep, maybe some squadmate bonus powers or something? I really hope so, as it feels like despite the whole change in combat mechanics and a few bits and bobs it doesn't feel like it brings anything new to the table that wows me, everything new is OK. New additions should in my opinion have something at least to really excite everyone - maybe its just me, but theres nothing that has me especially excited(apart from the game coming out itself). We cant tell if there is more options later, like specialisations in ME1 or squad powers, so I shall hold judgement.

Every class being able to use any weapon makes it much more realistic(after all why cant my biotic use a gun if he wants to?), though I am on the fence about it, as the limited options made the classes in the previous games more specialized, and being forced to use different weapons for different playthroughs with different characters helped make the game a more of a unique experience each time. We shall see.

The new customisation options look nice, or should I say putting some of the stuff back they took out of ME1 like adding weapon attachments is nice. The way they have done it is better in many ways meaning we still don't have an inventory to clutter up, but can customise the weapons like we used to. I miss selectable ammo still, ammo powers just don't feels as good because its more efficient to pick one and level it up all the way rather than have multiple ammo options, and there were many more options in ME1 like toxic ammo, phase ammo, sledgehammer rounds, explosive ammo, tunsten rounds, shredder etc. You could swap them as you wished rather than have them class limited - which is perhaps one reason they made them class specific in ME2 - to make the classes more unique, but then why have they decided to let everyone use all weapons now? I am not complaining, I just miss certain ammo types and wish they were still in the game. Still, the inclusion of attachments again is fantastic IMO.

Mordins voice sounded different and I didn't know why until I read someones post on the first page of this thread that his VA had changed, still - not a bad replacement.

I heard Ashley was prettier in ME3. I disagree. Not that it matters,as my fave LI is always Jack.

Basically, there is nothing glaringly wrong with the game, and I am really looking forward to it - its looking good. Far from niggle - free, but that's because I love the series so much I am bound to be passionate about a few issues. Fingers crossed it doesn't disappoint..

The controls are awful. I have a million keys on my keyboard, don't make me use one key for 5 different actions.

Also, 360 controller support patch please. It's ludicrous to ramp up the action and speed of a game, design the entire game around that controller and then not offer the option like every studio from the biggest to the smallest is able to. Is Bioware not owned by one of the largest publishers in the world? Every other EA title natively supports the 360 controller and Bioware somehow can't do it? Please, don't tell me specifically designed the PC UI around mouse and keyboard because that hasn't happened since Mass Effect 1. It's a quick and dirty UI and we all know that.

Good: combat is improved, class trees are improved, nice music, good insanity changes
Bad: the prologue is underwhelming, badly written, really short and fails to create a sense of scale; yeah it's not a masterpiece of visuals in general but I can live with it

Others: y can't I remove some weapons in the demo Bioware yyy?

This pissed me off:

Image IPB

ME1 and 2 has fluid animations, yet ME3 goes 10 steps back on this regard.

I enjoyed the demo. Some of the textures... weren't great but the faces of pretty much all the characters were very well done.

I didn't mind the reaper attack happening so quickly but I WAS rather dissapointed the Alliance Council came accross as a bunch of incompetent, scared little kids to the extent that I found it kind of immersion breaking (I mean, if Shepards been there for some time, implied by his/her statement about getting used to hot food and warm beds, and the Council believes the Reapers are coming, wouldn't they have asked him/her about how to take on the Reapers/come up with their own plan over the weeks/months Shepards been 'relieved from duty' rather than waiting until the Reapers attack to ask him/her? And even when colonies start going dark etc they wait until they've lost contact with EVERYTHING BUT THE SOLAR SYSTEM to ask Shepard 'what do we do?'... REALLY?)

Also felt Wrex's comment about landing being 'too dangerous' was a bit out of character, but thats only a minor gripe.

I did, however, feel that enemies on insanity relied WAY too much on grenade spam. They were fun to fight, a lot more agressive, and I liked the variety, but occassional I'd go through a spell where they'd throw a grenade every 5 seconds or so for about half a minute. I get it, grenades are meant to flush the player out of cover, fair enough, but while I feel they're a good addition in moderation, I felt the enemies used them too much on insanity (it was annoying).

But gripes aside, I enjoyed it (especially the music, as others have said), and am looking forward to the final release.

Yes, when you run quickly in ME2, for example in a battle between covers, it's straightforward. Yet you can run around and adjust your direction. Here Shepard either walk leisurely in all direction or sprint straightforwardly. If I recall correctly, there were three options in ME2 (Ctrl/Storm/Run Settings in menu). Though, maybe I should check my claims when I'll return home :).

Basically, everything is comfortably readable at 1920x1080 except for subtitles and dialog choices which are too small to read. If Bioware allows some modification (e.g. font size), it'd be great.

Finished single player once(so far) on ps3:
pros:
-Graphics seem a tad better in some areas, though some texture are pretty noticeable in others.
- mordins replacement va sounds close enough
- music was good
-power upgrades(and I asusme wepon/armour mods) are way better than me2 but seeing as u removed them instead of fixing them in me2 then added them back I'm not sure that counts.
- ai is better with better tactics, though I forsee a problem in some way which leads me to...

cons:
-Controls: Now granted I haven't played a tps/fps(prefer old school shooters to COD) in awhile but I don't recall me2 handling this poorly. I could go in/out of cover fine in me2. it was clunky but it worked. Now I roll when I don't want to. Had to fight extra waves of cerberus troops cuz shep kept rolling into the terminal instead of activating it. Moving around takes some getting used to esp with the faster pace of combat & the fact shep only moves in 1 direction ie I try to go nw & shep runs north while angling very slightly right. Hopefully I can adjust to it after playing through a few more times though I dunno what was wrong with me2's pace gunplay wise. Hope I didn't waste $80 for a spazfest I can't control/react to fast enough.
- Related to above the controls plain stopped working the last time I tried to kill the atlus. I couldn't aim with L1, throw grenades or anything till I hit o to pop out of cover. This happened rarely with me2 as well.
- why is there no button for grenades? And why don't I pop back into cover after tossing one?
- intro felt rushed & with no explanation for newcomers/options to explain our choices from the previous game. Everything is glossed over for corny dialogue & failed emotional drama so we can get to the pew pew & explosions.
- as above why was the trial cut?
- why no sniper rifle for infiltrators? or wep/arm/squad selection at all?

And finally a question since kirahe(sp) is in the demo is he in the full game for ps3? I'm guessing this was just a design oversight. I dunno if he'd unflag properly or whatever if he was in anyway.

Will we see more graphic setting on the PC in the FULL VERSION?

Because now you cant change texture (low-high), environment (low-high), models (low-high).

You get the deal.

You could change this in ME2.
