Pros:
- Character face models look refined and more detailed
- Interesting array of sound effects for Reapers, sounds very 'Doctor Who' like
- Femshep has a nice selection of hair updates, which is very welcome
- Surprisingly Freddie Prinze Jr.'s voice just matches Vega's visuals, was fearing his voice would be too higher pitched for the role
- Like the changes to ability upgrade choices
- Both Kaiden and Ashley look very good

Cons:
- HORRIDLY low texture resolution on characters/weapons/Normandy, unacceptable these days!
- Very underwhelming introduction of the Reapers to Earth
- Compared to ME2, mouth animation's are very poor and dont appear to sync well with voice audio
- Unnecessary addition of rolling around the battlefield, causes issues when trying to stick to cover quickly since they are bound to the same friggin key

My thoughts exactly on the Con's. Although Im a console gamer I like to pick the best game series/stand alones to go on my PC rather than console to get the better experience. But Bioware has done nothing with the kind of technology we have today on computers. It's like we're taking a step back rather than a step foward. I am ashamed of Bioware.(No offense is intended in what I am saying in this post. So console people dont bash me please :P)

Sadly what I hate also is origin nuff said. Sadly mass effect 3 might be the last game I buy for PC(and possibly from bioware or anything related to EA) since I started ME1 on PC. Mayge Dragon Age 3..but thats a longshot now because the way I feel right now about Bioware/EA.

If they take the step in producing better graphical enhances/textures/etc. for DA3 them possibly. I didn't sepnd $2000 on building an excellent PC just to have less of what I'm expecting for.

My hats off to you EA. You won't be seeing me a long time customer.

Quality demo, just the right length, really set the scene without giving too much away. I almost didn't get the demo for fears of spoilers, but there is nothing in there we haven't seen before (story wise.) It was a bit annoying that there was no sniper rifles whatsoever (unless i'm being stupid and just didn't see one) so that limited the infiltrator class somewhat. All the heavy melee attacks i've seen so far (infiltrator, soldier, vanguard) seem pretty distinct. I especially liked the vanguards heavy attack, me1 + 2 lacked biotic punches. Enemies seem much smarter, as do squadmates.
Overall it feels...tighter than 1+2 and powers/weapons have much more punch.
Wasn't keen on how the camera works when sprinting, but i'm sure i'll get used to it.

- UI was too big in ME2, now it's too small. LIke I need glasses to recognize what I have in the quickbar.
- The enemy health bar is changed, for the worse I feel. I liked the smoothness of ME1's and ME2's. It flashes too much and doesn't go down as smoothly.

Couldn't say it better

Tip for ME3 team. Go check EA's new Kingdom of Amalur and see what a kicking ass run/walk/sprint animation looks like!

Uh, that isn't "EAs game" It's Big Huge and 38 Studios game. They're getting published by EA, but unlike Bioware, EA doesn't own them.

Love the game, can't wait to start playing it. Demo was good.

But one thing....does low ugly ass textures op pc.
I hope the launch version is better, or give us a high res texture pack.

The cutscenes are better done this time around, however, the plot goes WAY too fast. 4 Minutes in and the reapers are ALREADY attacking? Where's the suspense? Where the build up? Intergalactic genocidal machines are coming to kill us, and they're just like "Ya, we're here now!"

...

It might not be the full intro of the actual game. There is simply too much missing for a proper introduction. It can't be true, it can't...

Oh, one other thing.
Why, oh why, has the bug that often crashes the game when you try to drag powers to remap them not been fixed yet? I mean, it's been present since ME2 and managed to survive into ME3!

Really wouldn't be surprised if it was at this point. I don't put ANYTHING past Bioware these days

Is there a way to change your weapon loadout in the 2nd part of the demo? 19ish second cooldown on Charge wasn't very fun =(.

Other than that, I loved the demo and can't wait to be able to play the MP portion.

Like:
1. Love the graphic improvements
2. Cinematics
3. Absolutely love the mobs AI; so much challenges.
4. Hair textures!
5.Conversations
6. Combat
7. Melee Moves!

Dislike: Only thing i really dislike is the textures, I play PC and i'd be nice to see the clothing and Anderson's hand improvement
Oh...on second thought ,Femshep's running animation.

Last night I played through the SP Demo for the first time.  It was with a Vanguard, set to Insanity difficulty, on the Xbox360.

Liked:
1.  Enemy AI.  They actually try to flank, don't always panic when I charge forward (as they did in ME2), and they actually push forward.
2.  Talent tree.  Love the expanded talent trees, more customization is always good in my book.

Did NOT like:
1.  Cool-downs.  Why the heck were cool-downs increased to almost ME1 times while still maintain a global cool-down system?!  One or the other has to give.  Only being able to Charge every 20-17 seconds when one could Charge every 6-4 seconds in ME2 completely ruins the Vanguard feel.
2.  Controls.  Added a whole bunch more to the A button but sticking to cover feels less accurate.  Can't count how many times I hit A expecting to stick to the cover at my waist only for Shepard to stay standing there getting shot and died.
3.  Character animations.  Combat-important animations have improved while RPG-important animations, such as facial animations during dialogue, are worse.
4.  Auto dialogue.  Even playing roleplaying mode, Shepard speaks way more for the player.  Frequency of chances for player to select Shepard's dialogue options per conversation seems way lower.

Game play was smooth and came back to me in minutes.  It feels much like its predecessors.  Is Shepard shifted more to the left than usual?  Maybe it is just because I have been playing different games.  I know it always takes a bit to get used to things like camera angle, width, rotation and movement and maybe this is just another aspect of that.  I kept feeling like I was running left of where I was going.  Or rather I kept running to the right of where I wanted to be and had to learn to adjust left.

I would have loved to have spent some time on the Normandy rather than just combat interactions.  I understand you are just teasing us now so I will just have to wait for 3 more weeks before I can interact with the characters I have grown fond of.  Patience was never one of my virtues and this is starting to kill me.

Graphics.  You are going to hate this ... but the skins were very distracting.  At the same time both uncanny and messy.  Photo-realistic details that are smeared over the mesh.  I found it distracting and most characters looked like burn victoms.  I have two thoughts on game skins and they are to either go with highly detailed smooth skins like you can find made by amatures on Second Life or go stylized and with the simple "cartoon" shaded look.  If you can not give your art department the time it takes to realistically draw and shade the best skins, don't even try with "good enough."  I know you understand the "uncanny" reference.  Either go beyond that or stay back. Otherwise it greatly accentuates the problems.

And while I am on the graphics, I love the weapons.  The models and textures are updated but the guns still retain their familiar look.  "Exactly the same, only better" as Mr. Berra would say.  Well done.

All in all I think you achieved you goals.  I saw a little and want to see more.  I could start naming a list of people I want to see and I am quite certain you have that list yourself.  Only you know what happens to them, you rotten bastards! (meant in the nicest way, of course)  Now I have to wait for WEEKS before I can track down Asara, check on Jack's progress or finally (hopefully) help Tali recover her homeworld.

Is it just me, or is the new combat system a bit clunky? The sprinting breaks up the action a bit, ignoring the fact that it's not mapped to L3 or one of the bumpers (on PS3), so you can't control the camera very well, losing track of the enemies. Then the default movement speed is horribly too slow.

Buuuuut, I've only played through it once so far, and I'm sure I'll get used to it in time for the full game.

most people are worried over the story and dialog . . . but its a demo . . .its been edited so as not to give away story plots , its focus is on game play which is where I would like to get peoples opinion,
but 1st I would like to say my pros and cons
Pros:
*Game play was good, , , you can just sit behind cover and hide any more
*weapons feel and sound prime
* Vanguard nova sweet
* Heavy melee love it
* Biotics seem pumped up from ME2
* Like the new evolution system for powers
* enemies without protection are harder to kill than the ME2 enemies
* insanity is a real challenge this time
Cons:
* Cover system I still had the same problem as ME2 , even with the rolling sometimes I wanted to run and Shep would take cover or I wanted to break cover and run . . . it just felt wrong
* Some of the face txt look funny.
* Why did they change Anderson's face his chin is longer and his face is darker, before in his ME1 & ME2 his face is more full around the chin and neck area
* A.Rush felt different it wasn't bad in the earth segments but in some levels in the Cerberus fights , I would hit it and it felt like no one was moving in slow mo, the animation of it seem almost non-existed, I do understand that weight load effects cool down but whats with the ARush effect ,so this leads to my question has anyone who has played soldier experienced this also or is it just me, I have played Soldier twice and Vanguard once going to Infiltrator next these are my fav 3 classes ,

I have to say that I did like the short demo and it is great overall.

There is one exception. This is the same demo you saw at E3 when they put on the demo then. So I am hoping that some of the models have been changed since then. The females, with the pulled back hair, looks like thier heads are much larger than expected.

Great Demo and the game looks to expand on me2 combat in the right way such as the new melee actions. My only gripe was that i couldn't use the new fem shephard hair i hope they don't restrict the hair to default only in the full game.

Textures are terrible. Lighting is messed up. Animations suck. Writing and exposition made me shake my head. Feels even more linear than ME2. No weapon holstering.
Adept is better than ME2. Vanguard is a blast. Hoping that this is not representative of the full game...but I know how that thinking turned out with DA2.
tl;dr worried and considering cancelling CE preorder

Facial animations are bad. Worse than ME2. Movement animations seem as stiff as always. Even worse is people's skin. What the hell did they do? In an attempt to make people look more realistic they went way too far. Everyone looks like a leper which is only made worse by the lack of expression.

Also, the cover mechanic is wonky now that have tried to add to it. It's almost like they want to to roll around and run and gun interspersed with melee attacks.

Lastly, I hope those super long cooldowns were just on the demo. Otherwise powers are totally nerfed which again, points to making you run and gun. As someone said above if you're going to make cooldowns that long they can't be universal.

I loved it, though one thing I was looking forward to was looking at the modding table that I didn't see anywhere. It was there in the PAX demo which was the second half of the released demo for us I was a little dissapointed not to see that. The first part of the demo was .. well it definately topped the opening sequence for Mass Effect 2. March 6th can't get here soon enough.

played it a bit more, like the start a bit more now Ive read the comics. would like some more explanation "in game" about what happened to Shep but the opening, all Ive played so far, is good.
There are rough, and bad, aspects for pc as described throughout this thread. I hate having so much locked into one key for example its got me killed a few times. But despite the flaws I had fun and I am looking forward to the full game.
I hate to say it as bioware people have always been polite and helpful to me but Its a shame most if not all the flaws could have been avoided with a little more polish, but again that can be said of a lot of games these days. Hope the full game is more polished.

I just hope they offer some more patch support for me3 than they did on me2 and me1 (ME1 1.02 almost a year for a patch on that one for pc and still left bugs :( )

Also, the new movement mechanics suck. Dunno how many times I've died when the computer has no idea which move I want to do, and so I hug a wall in full enemy fire rather than jumping over. I have a keyboard with like 50 keys...you HAVE to map 4 or 5 moves to 1 key?? WTF, Bioware.
