I'm not part of the 10% that buys dlc or comic books. Do you plan on having a begining to this game that would catch the rest of us up to speed on why Shepard was demoted, why he is standing trial? Or a big plothole like DA2 is now the norm?

And the Reapers actually invading earth was very underwhelming. I was expecting more destruction and terror. The lack of emotion in the voice acting made it sound like it wasn't that big of a deal. Definitely, you'll want to redo that whole part of the Reapers invasion to make it more climatic.

The game is gold, and recording finished ages ago. There'll be no "redoing" the opening.

Also, Shepard blew up 300k batarians and destroyed a star system.

This is for single player. I haven't tried multiplayer yet.

Too many cinematic cut scenes that went for too long! The first one, with the jibber jabber in the hallways, was especially long and boring, I'm sorry. There were exciting/interesting bits, though. But  I don't like feeling like I'm just watching a movie. Especially in a short demo! It's something I didn't like about ME2, and it seems like it has gotten worse in ME3.

The lip synch and mouth movement when people were talking during cut scenes was abysmal. I feel harsh in my feedback already, but maybe you can do something to fix it!

And is it just me or are there less dialogue options than in ME2?

But the actual gameplay was a great improvement over ME2. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it feels more fluid. The characters move better and they run nice and fast! Yes! And the graphics are noticably better. The light in your eyes and stuff.

But I would like an marker to indicate where I'm supposed to go because sometimes I don't know where I'm supposed to go and that's annoying.

I would also like better feedback when choosing an ability to use during combat. I click some power, and I often don't know if it's been selected/if I clicked it properly.

Overall, it was a positive experience and I will almost definitely be buying the game after experiencing the demo.

character takes up way to much screen space ,and can make navigating difficult,is the main issue i have along with the no holster always pointing gun is ok but he must have strong arms to keep it up. other than them really a good demo would be ok if full game was similar but whats with the action mode really ME is story based in my opinion and your choices affecting it so removing them is pointless, i guess you would get more cod kids as i call them just for shooty shooty.
oh and to many functions on one button

I loved the demo(PS3).
The improvements made are amazing, items, armors models, character models, animations, AI moving more, trying to find better positioning on the battlefield.
This game will be the game of the year, I'm sure.

Thank you Bioware.

P.S.: The music on the Main Menu is really low, I have to almost max-out the volume to hear.

That's a shame that they're going with an unclimatic begining to what is suppose to be a momentous event.

Also, Shepard blew up 300k batarians and destroyed a star system.

And why would he do that?

have to add why are the areas so small ?its all corridor shooting .
i liked the open areas mabye its just the demo selection of levels but they are corridors.
i prefer the Praetorian battle areas from 2 where it was open but had cover , in fact horizon in general was more open . just my thought but it does seem smaller

This is easily one of the worst demos I've ever played.
Bioware has become ridiculously lazy ever since EA engulfed which shifted their focus onto consoles. They disregard gamer feedback entirely and simplify their freaking games with every sequel.
Bioware, explain to me:

- why does the game look like it was released in early 2007? It looks horrific and runs like **** on PS3 AFAIK
- why does the running animation look embarassing?
- why do the clothing textures look like on N64? Couldn't you have at least put some hi-res textures on them as one can hardly ignore them when they're in your face the entire game?
- why did you remove weapon holstering in the PC version?
- why does the game not support controllers and yet limits the gamer to one damn button to do everything on a 100+ buttons keyboard?
- why is the writing worse than in a Schwarzenegger movie? Any 10th grader can write better dialogue
- why do you disregard ME2's plot? What was its relevance anyway?
- why did you remove the inventory?
- why did you simplify the **** out of this game? Did anybody find ME2 too complicated? Or even ME1? WHO COMPLAINED?
- Why do you think you're competent enough to craft a shooter when you've never done so? Why abandon your RPG roots?
- Why abandon the PC platform that made you famous?
- Why no PC optimization at all? How lazy, ungrateful and ignorant can a developer possibly be?

Bioware, you've become horrible. You're easily the most hated developer in the entire gaming industry and you deserve so. A company that blatantly ignores the customer's requests is bound to fail.
Shadows of Amn is my favourite game of all time and I can't comprehend how a company could fall as steep as from Baldur's Gate 2 to Mass Effect 3. You embody everything that's wrong with the gaming industry. I hope ME3 bombs hard and gets devastating reviews in order to ring a bell in the Bioware headquarters. I used to admire your works and I know the talent is still there. Shift your focus to PC, bring back the talented writers, take your time creating a game and do us all a favour in reminding us that YOU developed the all time classic Baldur's Gate 2.

ME 3 Demo ran pretty smooth on the xbox 360 no real complaints since it was Demo.

ME 3 Demo for the PC .... Almost a total Disgrace.... Hope the PC problems have been worked out by release date.
If not it would Definitely Tarnish Bioware's name PC game wise.

Well the intro in the game is supposed to have more dialogue options, so perhaps this is part of the investigation options?

Also he hasn't been officially part of the Alliance since his death at the start of ME 2.
The trail has to do with the Arrival DLC, in which Shepard was forced to destroy a star system.

hmm, I loved the gameplay, the graphic are whatever don't especially care about them tho, story was cut to fit the demo size limit so I can't really judge it.

BTW what happened to the possibility of goodies for the full version and amular? I never saw anything further then Priestly saying more info coming on the 7th.

That's why I felt lost in the begining.  Shepard was called Commander, and I didn't think anything of it, until Shepard replyed,  "you can't call me that anymore'.  And I'm thinking ???  Where's his crew, the ship, his reslove that we last left him with to bring the fight to the Reapers/?.  Why is he like a kid in detention right now?  And then it's "oh now there here!  Save us Shepard! What do we do?! '  And I'm like, "Can someone please tell me where I'm at and what is going on?  I mean other than the Reapers are invading?"

The amount of Elitist, spoilt brat crap I'm seeing from the PC community is staggering to behold.

The demo was excellent, Bioware. You'll be glad to know I haven't declared a cynical sweeping generalisation of your studios by judging all of you on Dragon Age 2, a game the ones that matter did not work on in any fashion.

The stupidity I see on official forums for any company on the internet destroys my hope in humanity.

It's not elitest. It is just that there are certain comforts we used to enjoy as pc gamers that are often overlooked in games recently. I agree, the demo was excellent and I am looking forward to the game but it wasn't perfect. What would make it closer to perfection (for myself) is the ability to bind run, interact etc to different keys. Why? Because I have so many at my disposal. Letting me set the FOV to something greater than 45 would also be awesome because I sit close to my monitor and therefore like extra real estate.

They will probably answer all that as the game progresses (I hope). The demo was just to get us excited and ask those questions so we buy the game and find out.

First of all the demo was pretty cool and the scene when that little boy was scared in the shaft was a really beautifull scene.

But the only thing i can't get used to is the sound of the assault rifle in the demo.. it doesnt sound fake or anything but.. i dont know.. it doesnt fit the gun somehow.
What do you guys think?

I sure hope that the demo is not the actual begining because there might be a lot of angry pre-order and first-day purchesers who feel that there is a big missing plotline.

Has a gamer ever had plotline progression dlc? I can't think of one.

Am I the only one who has the feeling that the dialogue-system was totally dumbed down? Only two possible answers which trigger answers, that are almost the same?
I hope the full version will have the same system as ME1/2, because the way it looked in the demo, Iwas very disappointed.

FPS were quite choppy (PS3)
That's my only issue. Maybe the combat roll, cover, sprint all mapped to X as well? Quite often I want to move into cover and did a combat roll into the middle of the battle haha.

Hated? Not by me..I wasn't ignored either, actually they did a lot of improvements based on fans feedback.

..and suprise, surprise. Mass Effect was always a shooter (mixed with RPG. No rules about how much RPG or Shooter it must have) =O deal with that..

I think I'll go with my instincts and cancel my pre-order. I did the same with DA2 after its demo came out and was glad I did. DA2 wasn't worth $60 and I'm suspecting this game isn't either. Maybe I'll get it this fall when its half priced and they've already made all the patches.

Do run and cover have to be bind to the same button? Thats just stupid and annoying moreso with new movement system when i want to run from mech and instead i roll to side or forward and hug a wall that thats facing it. I feel that is going to be source of much frustration and anger on my side at least.

Also the reapers arrival is kind of silly. They raped entire Aliance fleet in seconds and after that they just land and start to toast everything with lazors. One would think that after milions years of practice they would come with something more devastating. I just hope that in full game they will explain why they just did not vaporize all cities from orbit or something.

Have you ever played one of the two previous games? Reading your last bit I doubt about it.

Reapers are not here to just eradicate every sentient life form, they are here to harvest them. The fact that they are doing a little bit of cleaning beforehand doesn't mean that their purpose is to kill everything.

So, what exactly is your point now? Did you invalidate anything I've said? Bioware won basically every loser award in the recent 4chan /V/ awards (which were easily the best and most honest GOTY rewards I've ever seen, no joking) and rightly so.

What do you biodrones not understand about constructive critcism?
I tried to show Bioware what they screwed in the demo (and likely in the full version) in order to improve it next time - you guys would benefit from that too, don't feel insulted when I criticize Bioware. My critique does not address you, so you may as well ignore it. To butter Bioware up in making them believe that they did well with their latest games is rubbish and makes them feel, they're doing it right which they're clearly not when you see how deep they've fallen from Baldur's Gate 2.
Criticizm is substantially more useful to them than nuthugging and might earn us the improvements we want in the future.

that's why the forums are filled with "omg its pure fanservice" whining.

Baldurs Gate 2 wasn't the prettiest game of the year 2000, and it still delivered, didn't it? Or maybe Infinity Engine are the games where the visuals are irrelevant?

behold, the ultimate of nitpicking is here.

wow, so you are not completely out of your mind.

2 years late, pal,  2 years late.
- why did you simplify the **** out of this game? Did anybody find ME2 too complicated? Or even ME1? WHO COMPLAINED?
and what exactly is less complicated in ME3 compared to ME2? I think that leveling up is actually a golden path between ME1 and overly simple ME2.
- Why do you think you're competent enough to craft a shooter when you've never done so? Why abandon your RPG roots?

To scare people who still can't get over the fact they won't be getting another Infinity Engine game. And the filthy paid reviewers tend to disagree with you. And because when you hire the right people you can craft any kind of game.
- Why abandon the PC platform that made you famous?
expanding to consoles is not abandoning. Sure, ME is more of an Xbox franchise, but you can still play it. Or buy yourself a freaking Xbox, it's not that expensive if you can make some savings for your entertainment.
because the gaming market is dominated by consoles.
