Pros:
- Gameplay feels much tighter and refined.
- Sound effects especially on weapons are great.
- I like the skill tree system.
- Animations so far seem much better and flow quite well.

Cons:
- Suffers the same problem imo that most tps style games have i.e too much bound to one key. ME2 suffered from this as well, here however it is much worse because there is much more that the space key is used for. Never found it much of an issue on console game, but on pc it can be very frustrating. At the very least one should be able to unbind commands because having sprint, dodge and cover moves all on one key is problematic.

- Lots of auto dialogue, needless to say I'm not a fan of this.

- Considering that most of what we hear in the demo is auto dialogue this one came as a shocker to me. Lots of the dialogue doesn't flow well. Maybe it's just me but lots of the banter and conversations feel clunky, unpolished, etc...

So overall good demo, loved the gameplay, sound effects are amazing. Only low points are the amount of automatic dialogue, too much bound to one key, and the poor flow of the dialogue.

Using 1920x1080 resolution the UI is REALLY REALLY SMALL. Could do with it being bigger or having a UI scale option/slider.

This is one of my only quibbles. I also play with subtitles on, and they are equally as tiny.

I like the music. I love Default Fem!Shep, I like Garrus' new armour. I'm pretty sure that I could learn to like the new power customisation after I get used to it. (And giving Liara Warp Ammo = thank you!)

That being said, however, if I'm playing as an Infiltrator, I would have liked to have a Sniper Rifle, even if it's a rubbish one. I'm not sure about Ashley's new face (I thought she was Miranda at first, but that might be my useless 15 year old TV). Minor details like that.

Demo was fantastic and played quite well on my semi-decent PC. My only suggestion would be to add more dialogue options and Renegade/Paragon interruptions for RPG mode.

I really liked the demo, it puts me right back in the Mass Effect thrill :)
Hope there are some more choises in other dialogues but I enjoyed it.

+ Weapon upgrades
+ Upgraded graphics
+ Hard to quit :)

- Less dialogue options
- Static running
- Demo too short =]

(Played on PC)

Oh yeah, squadmate running animations are atrocious in my opinion.

I like the demo.

Suggestion:

1) HD texture or Better texture needed as an option for High End PC players.

2) Xbox controller support as an option.

3) Better UI scaling or UI scaling option.

4) FOV adjustment or setting.

These are all the stuff that PC players wanted in ME3

Ok Chris, here's mine....
In general I loved it. I am after 2 playthroughs and it felt much better the second time. I was scared at first by the shooting controls (I don't know why but I couldn't handle this), but now it is much better. I love the skill tree system. It's new and really enjoying. Especially the choices.

I also loved the kinect features. ME3 was the reason I bought it and I don't regret the money spent. It reacts to the normal speech volume, even whispers. However I don't know why, but I can't properly mak Garrus use his Concussive shot. Every time I say Concussive shot, it's Garrus who uses it. But that's a minor flaw.

What I would like, is to get a complete list of valid voice commands. I only know them from your trailers. I can't understand why there is not a command for reload.

The last thing is the omniblade. What is the combination for it?? And when I be able to activate the Alliance Network.

I can't recall this kind of problems in ME2. So it can't be UT engine limitation.

After playing this again a few times Ive gotten used to the new controls and ive grown to like it more.
Although i still despise the size of the new health system on the screen and just meh with how much more the camera is zoomed in now its just abit but u feel it, besides that all seems better.

Although I find it odd you cant quick execute squad mate commands on console, why but the indicator their powers are recharging and the given power if you cant idk double take the direction pad to tell them to use that power

The good and bad:

1.  There should have been a trial.  For all this Dev talk about how DLC is supposed to be "complimentary" to a game that is supposed to have a "well rounded" and "complete" story, if you were a new person coming into this you'd be wondering why and how Shepard destroyed an entire system of Batarians.  There's a DLC right there that is now supposedly an integrated part of the main new game.  If you had a trial scene, this could've been actually explained an elaborated upon.

2. Cover mechanic is unwieldy at best.  I'm not a newb, but I don't often play shooters, so this could be me just sucking.  But I love Mass Effect and had absolutely no problem with this in either of the previous games.  There's just too many things tied to the "A" button.  I'm standing up when I want to be down in cover, or I'm rolling from cover to cover when I just want to get out of cover.  It's annoying and a little insane.  (Cue all the GoW ppl that tell me I have no idea how to play video games).

3.  Wish I coulda had a sniper rifle, though I can live without, cuz I know they only had so much space for the demo.  I'm really excited to play my Infiltrator.

4.  Vanguards are now as badass as they always should've been.  Thank you, my main Shep loves you.  Playing a Vanguard is tons of fun.

5.  Animations between Femshep and BroShep are the same, which doesn't really bother me SOOOO much, except for scenes like...when Anderson tosses Shep her dogtags and her hand grasp around them is loose and weird looking, when BroShep's hand grasp around them is tight.  The animations don't translate well for Fems.  Speaking of which...

6. Cannon FemShep looks like a cartoon.  Seriously?  I've seen Shep's made in the demo on here that look more like the model than the weird anorexic redhead with freckles and too much makeup that is CannonFemShep.  Not really worth whining about, tho, since I'm just going to make my own Shep anyways.

7.  Those engineers will kick your butt!  Good job, Bioware.  The diversity and complexity between the different types of enemies is refreshing.

8.  On a story note, the invasion and destruction of Earth feels rushed and non important.  I'm sorry, I don't care about the boy dying.  What was his name?  Tommy?  Jim?  Why the heck do I care that the defense council got blown up?  Those guys denied me and grounded me, and then wanted my help last minute...(uh, screw them!)?  The entire beginning, while not meaningless, lacks the sense of "Jesus H CHRIST!!!! OMFG REAPERS!"  that should be present.  Also, because I am not familiar with any of the landscape, not even to roam around in my little detention room, I kinda was "meh" about the environment.  I just didn't have a connection to any of that stuff.

And I'm sorry, Arrival should've been in the main game of ME2, and not a DLC.  You shouldn't make a DLC a part of ME3.  I know, I know--lemme guess--Arrival wasn't done in enough time for ME2 to be approved with the main content.  That's why it was billed separately. <_<

I played the PC demo. My thoughts.

The good

Improved combat

Great sound effects

Great music

The bad

Textures still look like crap. Most PC gamers have gaming hardware and don't need to be able to run this on a fridge, so don't be scared of improving your visuals.

Bink videos at lower framerate than gameplay. The massive framerate drop between in-engine gameplay and a cinematic is annoying.

Mordin sounds wrong

Wrex sometimes sounds wrong

No menu shortcuts. Seriously, BioWare? Go take lessons from Demiurge or simply talk to the Dragon Age team in your building.

I wish there wasn't just one action key. Sometimes Shepard rolls when I want to open a door. Making interaction a different key would fix this.

Subtitle font and conversation wheel are too small at 1080p.

I don't need four weapons. Let me drop some.

Anti-alias on or off. I like that we get an AA option, but on or off is vague. Just give us the numbers, we can count. Same problem as BioWare's SWTOR.

Pros:
- much smoother gameplay then ME2 (which was fine)
- biotics feels much-much deadlier than ME2

Cons:
- too short :)
- default weapon settings on the second level makes adept almost unplayable (4 guns takes heavy impact on recharge times)
- too short :)
- I'm a die hard, loyal fan of ME series... why BF3 guys got early access to the multiplayer? I bought ME1 + all ME1 DLC + ME2 Collector's Edition + all ME2 DLC + preordered ME3 Collector's Edition... but nooooooo, BF3 fans are much more important than me.
- the demo is too short. :)

I have been meaning to give feedback, nice to have a thread about it.
So Mass Effect1/2 are my favourite games of all time so my expectation even for the demo were insanely high, just keep that in mind. There were a lot less things that I didn't like than I liked to I will just list them:
  • Sounds.Oh god, those were awful. Suppose it's more of an technical issue than anything else, but they are unbalanced in loudness levels, clunky, unrealistic, etc, etc. I hope it's just a demo thing. First of all: the levels are completely unbalanced. When I shoot my Shotty I am supposed to hear it's barrel louder than Beiber watching Dead Space 2 gameplay! Birds/ambient sounds are supposed to be louder outside combat and be very quite during combat. But my biggest problem is with gun sounds. They feel like someone shooting out of a spit gun, you know the ones you made at school? Mass Effect 2 didn't have the best selection of sounds for guns but it was still better than these. Hope to see this fixed.
  • Textures. So I am a PC gamer and I WILL NOT TOLERATE PIXELATED TEXTURES!!! Seriously, Bioware, what is up with texture quality. I think you know what I am talking about. I do very much hope this is just a Demo thing. Really, really hope so.
  • Decals. Simply not enough. I remember enjoying watching big pieces of armour or flesh flying off my opponents during ME2. I want the same.
  • And now the most obvious consolification crap ever: FOV!!!!!!!!!!!! It's like friggin Resident Evil 5 all over again? I suppose you did not make ANY changes to adapt the PC demo? Because Shephard covering 50% of the screen and getting headaches from playing a third person shooter is NOT what I expect from a company that has made 2 of most favourite games.
The rest is amazing, as usual. The gore is FANTASTIC. SO satisfying when you blow that head up with your shotty! Just BAM! Brains on the floor. I remember Mass Effect 2 having the most satisfying headshots I have ever seen on videogames, well this is just whole new level. I hope the obvious but annoying techincal issues above will get fixed in the final release. I will be keeping an eye on my pre-ordered copy on Origin so I don't loose a single second before I can play. Can't wait!

Yeah that VI was suggesting the Salarians should mutate the Varren for a attack beast. I guess that whole facility is to do all sorts of weird biological experiments and studies.

Pros:

A significant amount of Keith David.

Cons:

Terrible, obvious, cliched dialog.
Passive dialog. All of it.
Call of Duty like "Follow Anderson to spaceport" crap that insults the player's intelligence.
Linear, scripted event driven "gameplay".
No sense of pacing whatsoever. The Reapers attack within five minutes of the start of the game. No build up. No suspense.
Disconnect between end of previous game and beginning of this game.

Ok the good things first:
Music was great. Didn't think ME1 style would have any future after the orchestras of ME2, but apparently it does. Also think the gameplay was better, tighter and more fluid and impactful feel.

Then the bad things:
Worst of all the linearity is back. It's just corridor after corridor, with added setpieces exploding. I really, really preferred ME1s levels that didn't seem like they were designed for a shooter from the start.
Secondly yes I can roll, which is good, but the gameplay itself still feels clunky as hell. No crouch? Bullets go through squadmates? Can't mantle without crouching behind platform first? And the camera seems glued over Sheps shoulder.
And third of all the choice. The thing that grabbed my attention about ME was the choice and promise that choices carry over to the next game. Well by looking at the demo I don't see any meaningful impacts to the story. Scarce dialogue choices in the first place.

All in all will buy the game, but certainly not because of the gameplay.
