Can you slow the walking and running animations down to me2 levels? It felt like I was running on molases.
Also any chance of making the sprites used for people running away in the distance a little less 2 dimentional?
Could be Good but hope the bugs are fixed for release, I'm sure they wil as demo's are usually old dev build's.

I find it rather telling that so many dont apparently give a flying crapola about the story to the point of not mentioning what they thought of that...

How can we possibly comment on the story when we still know very little about it? The demo didn't reveal anything more about the story that we haven't already known since E3.

-And here poor naive little me thought that a demo of a storydriven game was supposed to showcase the story too. My mistake.

Demos are almost always centered on gameplay. Developers do this because they hope people will enjoy the game play, and therefore buy the game. It's harder to sell story ot the casual fan than gameplay. A demo of conversations probably wouldn't bring in many new fans, and on the flip side, a demo showing off the gameplay probably wouldn't cause any old fans to decide not to buy the game.

I think it was really good, but in the intro level the sync between what you hear when they were talking, and Shepard's running seemed a little strange. But it was really good.

"Geth do not intentionally infiltrate".

The demo has me ****e scared because it has not been denied that its an accurate depiction of the intro. And the intro we get in the demo is basically filled with incidents where suspension of disbelief is broken, logic is completely all over the place and general assumptions that we through metagaming should know precisely what is going on.

Wait, what's wrong with the Skill Tree? It's pretty easy to navigate....

I never said it's difficult. Just painfull. I don't see any advantages to go in to new screen just to upgrade skills. Then pressing B to go to Skill list.

It's annoying.

Played the demo again.
The basically zero build up to the invasion is really terrible, the vacuum left from the cut trial was never filled, is what it feels like.

It's hard not to focus on the negatives, I really want to like this game (and I'm sure I will in the end) but there are terribad flaws (animation/FOV/no holstering etc) glaring at you in the meantime.

I enjoyed the SP demo, have played it through three or four times now with different classes, though since I'm not a fan that was even somewhat drawn to ME because of game play, I would have liked a bit more story/interaction. The game play(TPS shooter) is actually the one thing that kept me from buying/renting the game over and over again; it was the story that made me struggle through and keep on trying until I managed to finish.

That said, I want to see the cover/storm/roll A button get unbound. Using B or a double tap to roll/take cover would be really helpful for me as a player. LOL, I don't know how many times I went into a front somersault before jumping up and taking off. Funny to watch, the first couple of times, not so funny when I'm getting shot at. I also want my area of perception, field of view, spatial awareness, whatever LOL, to be widened. It feels claustrophobic, like when it was designed the team started out with FPS, or maybe over the shoulder, but it didn't really work out so they just entered in a slightly widened field and went with that. I don't play FPS. I can't see enough of my environment to be able to assess and attack and I found myself getting hung up several times, especially when I was running, because I couldn't see enough of what was going on and I couldn't move the camera.

On the whole, though, I really did like what I saw and am looking foward to being a fly on the wall for Shepard's last charge into history.

I like it. The first level had more of an emphasis on geographic navigation and dynamic environments - something I've found lacking in Mass Effect up 'til now. The kid was a bit cheesy, but hey, they want to show you what you're fighting for. The combat mission was more standard fare, but still had a good pace and benefited from the improved movement/cover mechanics.

I tried playing the first Mass Effect after ME2 and the ME3 demo. I just laughed at the combat. I simply couldn't go back. That, and elevator rides, but meh. I just picked up Genesis and started a new ME2 playthrough, after a good year and a half of not playing it.

Good demo. The multiplayer is also very fun, but you wanted SP feedback :D.

The singleplayer is awesome i've played it like 8 times already something like that, i do agree with the above post, the second part did lack a more dynamic environment, it was just that standard shoot em up level which is fine for the demo, i also enjoy the multiplayer a lot though it gets more interesting when playing with friends or other players who enjoy the series like i do, play and talk through the mic.

I both enjoy the single player and agree that many of the criticisms stated here, if addressed, would make the game even better. The one thing I have not seen mentioned that bugs me (though it has to be in here somewhere) are the grenades. I know they exist to make it impossible to just sit in cover, but I really want access to Cerberus' supplier. Their grenades insta-kill me even at full health and shields while mine barely make a standard trooper stagger. Maybe that was one of the benefits to Cerberus of looting the Collector base (intact or wreckage).

I have played it more times than I can count. I love it and I cant wait for release day. There were only two issues I had with it, the customization options for the appearance (witch I hope were limited due to this being a demo) and the line of the FemShep "is that why they took away my ship?", it sounds kinda funny to me.

Ok, now that I've played through with each class:

1) Would have liked to have tried out a sniper rifle with the infiltrator class, but it's all good.
2) The cover system seems really sensitive. It seemed like half the time I ran up to a wall to take cover, Shepard would do her forward roll thing against the wall, which doesn't actually put you in cover. Kind of annoying.
3) I like the fact that Liara is no longer an idiot (translation: she knows how to take cover properly and not usually die).
4) Some of the new movements seem a little awkward.
5) Seems like infiltrators will still be the best class for insanity, which makes me happy =)

The demo is not incredible. Except the combat(which is ok), everything else is a step backwards with ridiculous dialogue, silly situations(the kid, the reapers...), the animations made me laugh(running, holstering, synchronization..), colours palette, textures.. From small to largue detalls all is one.
i write by the demo only, but hmmm, i dont know if the complete game...

Loved the demo! Played it on PC and PS3 and was very happy with both. The textures, environment look awesome! Just one question- sorry in advance if this has already been answered -but is the character model we saw for femShep in the demo going to be the one used in the game? I thought I read somewhere that she was getting her own...but from what I saw, she still moved pretty..'man-ish'.

Thanks!

Demo was awesome. I don't really get why Ashley seems to be so important in this game though. You see her in the CGI Trailer, you see her in the Demo, it just seems like she's really important when she's not a big deal in my opinion. Is she Shepard's love interest, canon-wise or something? Because that would make a bit more sense.

I liked the part with the kid, I liked the reapers, the new animations are nice, Cerberus is cool and strong now. Great stuff! Multiplayer is a lot of fun too.

She was a major crew member in Mass Effect (where she's also a potential love interest), and she's a potential love interest in ME3, too.

from Twitter:

@AlexanderWalla4 @masseffect Animations (walking, running, reloading, general movement) in the demo are dreadful. Are they going be polished in the final game?
@masseffect @alexanderwalla4 Things will be different in the finished game, yes.

and there we go.
