My only gripes with the demo were minor things. I would have liked to see weapon customization, armor customization and weapon selection, although I understand why a lot of things weren't shown (size limit and whatnot).

Something about the control scheme was a bit annoying too, the fact that only one press of the "A" button was enough to send Shep rolling all the time, this should be changed to a double tap, I think, along with a continuous sprint allowing us to hop over obstacles without needing to get into cover.

Other than that it was a really fun demo, and if the game itself is on par with it, I will be a happy camper indeed.

Also hope there will be a trial or something along those lines, was really hoping to defend my actions before the Alliance Council.

I am quite confused, I mean the demo looked great in the first mission but the second one got me thinking. It's like something is missing but I can't say what. I hope there are gonna be more dialogues options in the full game. For instance the intro seems rushed, it is nice because you feel like you're right into the battle but at the same time I was like "Oooook slow down guys what's going on here? Where am I? But most important who's this Rocky guy?". Multiplayer felt like the best part right now (wich is worring isn't it?), hope full game will be different.

Ah I played the PC version, graphic is quite good, loading times are close to zero and the interface isn't that bad. Too bad many things have been removed like holsting weapons.

This is the best game ever made. I think after it's released, it will be extremely difficult to make a better, more epic and intense game! I can say it, it's impossible. :) Kotor1-2 & Mass Effect1-2-3 are the best games ever. thumbs up guys, i'm impressed with the demo. It has some problems but who cares with this epic story.

Enjoyed playing the SP part of the demo. Kinda wish I got to see the weapon customization in action.
Liked being able to map the skills to all three buttons, and the new character customization choices.
Absolutely loved being able to see upgrading my skills affected my Shepard.
Interesting idea to have some weapon parts scattered over the mission. (Will they carry over to a new game +?)

But I'm reaaaally hoping that my squad's health and shield gauges aren't vague like in ME2.

Oh yeah, just saw this on a second playthrough:
Please drop that "go-blind-as-you-die" effect, it can make things a bit frustrating.

Pros:
-Combat feels alot more balanced now, the quick power recharge times in ME2 resulted in easy spamming of abilities.
-Squadmates on Insanity dies less often now, even if they die, you can revive them without the use of precious medi-gel
-In ME2, Powers that only affected health were absolutely useless, now they are actually worth something

Cons:
-SPACEBAR! Can you guys please stop mapping every functionality onto the space bar? It's completely frustrating when you are trying to either get into or out of cover only to see my character either sprint repeatedly into cover/roll into cover or switching between covers.

-Covering system is not as sharp, as mentioned, there are some pieces of cover where Shepard appears to lean out of cover but my vision is completely blocked by the object. Also some covers takes repeated press of the space bar to get into cover.

-Maybe it's just this mission, but the last part of the second mission where 5 or 6 enemies drop into view in order to take out Mordin's pod. It's way too difficult, I had to literally rush at all the enemies to try to stumble them or knock them down in order to prevent them from shooting the pod. Even then on my 7th try I managed to pass that part with only 1 sliver of durability remaining, one more burst and I would have failed the mission. There's absolutely no methodical way to complete the mission other than just to rush into all the enemies and hope that they die fast.

K, here's some feedback from someone who's been very cynical about Bioware games lately.

First of, the cutscenes (so far) are MUCH improved for the previous games. Something that's always annoyed me about Bioware cutscenes (SWTOR included) is that it was basically 2 actors stand next to each other, taking turns talking. In ME3 people are walking while they talk, things are going on. Great job on that front.

Secondly. There is a worrying amount of auto-dialog.

Third, the combat is a lot more fluid

And last, it's nice to see Bioware finally taking map design seriously. ME1 and ME2 had AWFUL maps that were overall flat. It's nice to see latters, jumping gaps, etc.

The demo is pretty good. Lets just hope it isn't like DA2 where they put all their effort into the demo

Loved it, I apparently fail at ducking, weaving and rolling though.

Died a couple of times trying to yoink an emeny over cover and stab him, gave up on that. Loved how the AI moved when I attempted to get close.. and yet found it overly frustrating.

Took a rocket or a grenade (didn't really see what it was) to the face when I was attempting to figure out how to get in the Atlas after I broke the window. And now have a huge urge to play again and again to try and get in the bloody thing. But I don't wanna get sick of the intro to the game before its even released!

Demo was great fun, but I was already going to play ME3 no matter what.

So is the running animation different in the game proper? So it won't look like Shepard is gliding on skates across the ice. Even though ME2 had a gimpy leg and she ran like a rugby player at least it had some animation to it. Also is there a way for me to dump excess weapon in the second half of the demo? The cool-down on my biotics is bad, very bad. 15 seconds bad....I can't see myself playing this game with anything more than a pistol. It'll be like old times. Other than that yay!! I managed to make a nice looking character, I think Anna will need a makeover.

The Sur'Kesh mission is actually twice as long, with a lot more dialogue.  A huge chunk was cut out between Wrex getting off the shuttle and Shepard activating the pod.  Earth, meanwhile, is like Eden Prime and Lazarus station--you don't actually know what the hell is going on until after it's over, but again, that was cut.

Forgot to say, I'm on PC as well.

So I played the demo about 4 times, and here's my pros and cons:
Pros:
-great visuals both on Earth and Sur'Kesh, just beautiful
-combat is even more fluent and challenging, enemies are smarter and use more diverse tactics; weapons really have more "oomph" now
-fantastic soundtrack, as expected (the leaving Earth theme and Sur'Kesh battle music stand out)
-characters look really great, very detailed (well, Male Shep mostly, Fem Shep not so much, but still good)
-more powers to use
-the kid scene would of shed a tear if some d'bags wouldn't have spoiled it without any warning what-so-ever in an article, but expecting more moments like that

Cons (some of them are directed at the demo itself rather than the general gameplay):
-some textures, especially fire in explosions, don't look great, but no big deal
-some animations such as lip-syncing are not extraordinary
-maybe I'm mistaken, but why can't we use a sniper rifle?
-again, maybe I missed it, but why didn't you show off your new weapon customization system?
-kind of a lack of dialogue
-would of wanted to see the inside of the Normandy just a bit, but that just means the anticipation is growing (and I will soon die from it)

That's about it for now, waiting to play the multiplayer. All in all, I had a blast playing it and can't wait for my CE to arrive.

Well combat felt like it is fluid motion, much better than what is has been in ME 1 and 2. So far I have played with infiltrator and soldier and skill trees have so much options, having played ME 2 so many times I thought I can really put all points the way I used to, but all the options make it harder to choose, feels like there is abudance of powers and the way it seems they allow lot of different playstyles. Not sure if weapons in this demo are upgraded or not, but they felt more powerful than in ME 2 early game, especially Tempest submachine gun.
Lighting conditions on earth made my custom Shepard's pale skin look even more pale than what is was in ME 2 (I used ME 2 face code), but then on Sur'kesh it looked more normal, overall lighting and colors are awsome, I couldn't pick conditions that would hurt my eyes (even after tweaking game brightness +1 up).
Normal movement feels slow, like Shepard is dragging his heels and when I start running multi function button A might bring me behind cover suddenly, especially when sometimes it was slightly unclear what surface I can use for cover, I could connect even smallest of tables or corners. Covering can be problem when it is done from odd angles and when it doesn't connect correctly, Shepard might end up rolling and not be in cover, when I quickly tap A to cover he might end up rolling again and passing the surcafe I was trying to use for cover.
Generally the demo gave me good impression of ME 3 combat and it gave me warm feelings.

ps. I used grenades, they're awsome.

I only played the intro mission. I liked what I saw there. PC version seems to have gotten some more love than previous games, which is nice: in-engine AA is excellent, and while I was weirded out by the smaller UI at first (I take it you folks decided to go pixel-constant instead of screen-space-constant like in previous games?), I think I'm going to like it in the end. Combat feels nicer from what I saw of it in that first mission, and I like the look of the larger talent trees.

My only complaint is a minor one: it would have been nice to have "proceed" and "quit" buttons before the second mission instead of automatically starting it. :)

Overall, the demo was great.

For me:
Cons
- some of the animations
- lip sync was not as tight as I would have liked

Pros
- combat feels better then ever
- firearm sounds felt throaty and real
- what little of the story you experience seems right on track.
- overall art (especially on the PC) looked fantastic.
- the demo made me want the game even more

Really, you expect us to read something about the demo that takes longer to scan than it did to play?

Yes, because I expect people who play a story driven RPG to have a longer attention span than a three year old with ADD. If what I wrote takes you longer than 2 mins to read, that's not my problem.

And it tells me everything I need to know about the audience bioware now caters to, and why it can get away with so much sloppy writing.

My attention span is fine, thankyou, just don't want to waste my life reading "I-want-to-hate-this-game-so-much" drivel. Why is it the folk who really don't want to give this game a chance, who have already made up their mind, then have to write overlong, boring essays to justify their rush to judgement.

No, the narrative intro is not perfect, and some of the dialogue is cliched, but that's by-the-by, as both previous games have enjoyed their cheesey moments. I'll say it again, there were more dialogue choices in the intro than there were in ME2's (that had only 2). Anyhow, can't have too much dialogue there as it would kill the pacing. Also, most of the conversation happened while they were walking - how would that work, stopping every 5 seconds to chat, or the SW prequel let's walk reeaally slowly?

I would have loved a full trial at the begining, but realistically, you cannot start a game with 20 minutes of talky-talky before you get to shoot something in the face. Hoping there might be something more along those lines further in - a Batarian show-trial, perhaps?

However, I do think Bioware did miss a trick, dialogue-wise. When Wrex leaps out of the shuttle, Shep shouts: "Wrex!" - would it invoke the meme too much if Wrex had replied "Shepard, hur, hur, hur..."?

I only have a few negatives about the demo.

The intro
Too short and everything happened too quickly. You see kid playing, then shift to Shepard, who goes to a human council (or something) then attack happens. I was expecting more of a trial because of what happened in Arrival.
But instead, it felt more like "OMG REAPERS GONNA REAP WHAT WE GONNA DO NOW??" to me. I was hoping for more dismissals of some sort, as if the Alliance was dismissing Shepard's claim, only to be rudely interrupted by a Reaper or a transmission or something.

Combat movement
I found the combat movement a bit clunky. At some times I just wanted to get out of cover, but instead I rolled over to the other corner instead of standing up. And that roll maneuver was also a bit annoying. At moments I just wanted to walk to the left or right, but instead ended up rolling in that way with the possibility of getting stuck in cover again. Very annoying.

Graphics
While the graphics were good, some things (like the Alliance uniforms you see in the intro) were of quite poor quality. I would love to see them in better quality. But I'll be able to live with this.

Apologies for length.
Combat: AI runs in front of you constantly, unless you tell them where to go.  Hope that's still adjustable like it was in the first two games.  Omni-blade is sexy and efficient!  Also love the biotic melees!  I can't wait to use it more when I get the third game!  The environmental changes were excellent (blasts of Reaper cannons, smoke grenades, escaping varren, etc).  I loved how no matter what class you pick, Shepard can now use all sorts of weapons--thank you!  Rolling is quite fun and very useful, though I would likely have put it onto a different button, likely 'B'.  Shepard doesn't seem to kneel down in cover until you press and hold 'A' (on Xbox).

Voice acting: It's too soon to tell what Mordin's replacement actor is going to be like, but all the other NPC squad mates were great as usual.  I look forward to getting to know James Vega a whole lot better, great casting choice with Mr. Prinze Jr.  Both Mr. Meer and Ms. Hale did very well as expected, although I am a bit biased towards the veteran (Hale's) interpretation.

Graphics/gameplay lighting: are great.  Character creation screen should not use blue background--it's deceptive to the eyes.  White is much more optimal.  I much preferred ME2's character creation screen; the lighting was more adequate.  Seeing as I'll be importing from ME2, this is a moot point, but for players new to ME who might like to focus on character customization, it's a bit of a let down.

Character customization: as stated previously, background should not be blue.  But new hairstyles are oh so welcome!  I also look forward to seeing how different female Shep's actions will act as opposed to male Shep in conversations, since that has been promised.  That was a big peeve of mine in the previous games.  (I.E., Female Shep in cutscene no romance before SM in ME2 would not necessarily crack knuckles as she looked at said picture but rather pick it up and run fingers along the edges of the frame or touch his/her face).

Music/scoring: Fantastic!  Very dramatic and emotional!

Audio mix/SFX: Even after I adjusted the audio levels, there were quite a few instances where the 'underlying score' was mixed too hot, and I couldn't hear the cutscene dialogue.  (I was wearing good headphones, too)!  This is being a tad picky, but the assault rifle sounded too much like the automatic pistol.

RPG element: I'm thrilled to see the power trees back as promised, and they do indeed look very thorough.  Although we didn't get too much story, that's quite understandable.  However, I wish we could've gotten a little bit more of the story as to why Mordin (or replacement scientist if he died in the SM) was in a pod with the female krogan.  He clearly has no weapon other than his omni-tool--I don't see how he could've protected her all that much.  Why was Wrex piloting the shuttle, did the Alliance's pilot die?  Also, there didn't seem to be all that different of NPC responses/consequences to the paragon/renegade choices in the dialogue.  There should be an action, too.  For instance, when Shepard is escaping earth and trying to get that kid out of the vents, when you select paragon, he/she should offer the hand like the game already does.  If you select renegade, Shepard will say the other response AND try to grab the kid.  Either way, the kid still makes the decision, and it still appears to be his choice.  I like the helmet on/off options--that's a very nice touch.  I could also be wrong, but I missed hearing unique dialogue from each squad member as either you or they made a headshot.

I'm also a little surprised as to why this was released so close to the game's launch.  Improvements unfortunately cannot be made now 2 weeks before the game hits the shelves, so I guess…*sigh*…it's too late.  All in all, though, if the release of this demo was just to attract a new market, hmm…problematic.

Overall, though, I was quite impressed.  I already made my pre-order last month for the CE, and I hope that it'll be money worth spent!  :D

Loved it! Have played through 10 times already. Combat is great (especially on insanity. Really had to use your squadmates to finish off troops otherwise they roll out of the way and behind cover.)
Cinematics were great and the music. phenomenal. and Wrex and Garrus' armor are sweet.

Only gripes are the gripes of any demo. Some things were glitchy (i saw canibals "slide" instantly over to a cover spot from the other side of their spawn point. Garrus took a flying leap accross the screen as he leapt over a ledge, that was pretty funny, I thought a Cerberus biotic threw him across the room. And not a fan of the new femshep. Looks cartoony. But I play her to get the rest of the dialogue choices.

Loved it, Bioware! Can't wait till I can play MP on the 17th. and can't wait till the 6th.

I loved it a heck of a whole lot. Combat and movement was smooth, though especially relying on cover and relocating during combat took a bit getting used to. In ME2 cover was important, but you could usually find one good tactical spot and lay waste. ME3? Not so much. Which, I suppose, is a good thing.

Best part is the improvements to the Squad A.I. I don't feel like I have to baby sit them anymore to have them be effective. The suppressing or take down fire was always spot on and they used they're power effectively. Also, they found good cover and even relocated when they were under heavy fire, they didn't just sit there being ripped apart, especially in the Mech sequence.

Honestly, though, I'm not surprised. Given what's come before in ME1-2 there was no way ME3 was going to not be brilliant story or mechanics wise. Now I just need to buy the rest of ME2's DLC so I can have a complete game to port in...

I really hope there's a prologue in the final game because it was weird going from being with Cerberus on a Cerberus Normandy SR2, to being with the Alliance on an Alliance Normandy SR2.

Thoughts on the pc version....

Graphics were good for the most part, some low res textures...but it's nothing new coming from ME2 especially. Caught me a bit off guard since I'm so used to playing me2 with Jean-Luc's (sp?) high res pack but I got over it.

Lighting is a lot better, and I liked the feeling I got from the walk to the defense council. The building seemed very much alive with energy, people walking around doing there jobs. This might not mean much to other people, but a lot of your interactions in previous games never dealt with that much going on around you. Hair also looks a TON better.

As far as gameplay goes, I felt very very....noobish to the controls. I guess I didn't know what to expect so I was playing it safe my first time through. The second time through I had the hang of it. Combat is much much much better now! Much harder which isn't a bad thing at all. There's a line between challenging and frusterating and it hits square in the middle of challenging for me, no frusteration at all.

Story wise I'm half and half. I do kind of feel seperated in the beginning. No idea what has happened with Shep since the end of ME2 and Arrival but I'm sure a lot of those questions will be answered later. Other than that it was really good. I was amazed at the overall invasion of earth...you feel somewhat helpless running around. Can't wait to play the full game on the 6th :)
