Hi folks

I'm creating this thread to gather your feedback on the Mass Effect 3 Multiplay demo. What did you like? What did you not like? Please give us your feedback here and let us know what you thought about Multiplay in <ass Effect 3.

I'm creating a similar thread in the General Discussion forum to discuss the Single Player demo. Please use that one to contribute your feedback on the Single Player demo as well.

We want to hear form you. Thanks. :)

I think I would like to get one of the other ways of entering the MP early. So I'm anxiously awaiting those.
I do like what I've seen from fan made videos though.

I enjoyed the combat situations, and I like playing mass effect with other people, but no one spoke in any of the games i Played. Is it not possible to speak to your squad in-game? That aspect was bothersome, andI'll definently be back to play more, but it'll be difficult to get some of my friends to get the game if I can't even talk to them while we play together.

I really like the upgrade and experience system, and overall rushed feel of the mulitplayer, I would have liked to be able to unlock characters a little easier than just random purchases from the store. The challenge presented is also intense, going in solo is not a good call :)

i admit to being very skeptical of the multiplayer... I still don't know if it was the right choice, but at least you guys did a great job with it. Combat looks smooth, and varied even with the only opponents being cerberus. I personally like the grab bag features, but i know it will be contentious. Only complaint is that despite assurances to the contrary, we never were given other options to access the multiplayer early other than BF3...

Overall it was awesome, but did anyone unlock anything for Mass Effect 3 in the demo?

The way to unlock races is too tedious. we already have a lot of unlucky players that buy over 10 veteran packs and didn't get to unlock any race.

I hope it's either unlocked by default or automatically by leveling up.

Well I did enjoy it overall, there were few flaws, ofcourse, but generaly I like it.

What I liked:
- Character customization, even when it just limits to colors
- Gameplay is good and it has variation in it (objectives and such)
- Game doesn't lag at all
- Giving us classes and levels, so people can play the way they like
- Enemies are pretty interesting
- Game that requires JUST enough teamwork is always good, I think you balanced it well

What I disliked:
- Having randomized boxes to unlock weapons, character options and customization options, these are the things people want to choose, not receve randomly.
I'd rather have control over the unlocking process, oooor that things would unlock as you level, but some kind of shop would be good.
- Some issues with controls, like piling up everything to button A (running, rolling, wallhuging, activating things, vaulting...)

So, if you just get rid of random boxes as prime way of getting race options, weapons and character customization options, it should be pretty good! Honestly thou, why would you limit the character customization that much?

I like just about everything, except the way we unlock different races. Been playing all night and haven't unlocked any of them. Just the same guns over and over again.

From what I have seen from videos and streams the multiplayer looks great but there is 1 problem unlocking more races I personally don't think they should be in randomized bags.

I had a blast playing multiplayer. In total, I've spent about 6 hours with it so far, playing a Human Adept, Turian Sentinel and a Female Vanguard.

Pros:
-Map layouts
-Customization and progression
-Graphics & Sound design
-Enemy variety
-Objectives (Hacking, Assasination, Extraction etc)
-Length (An average 11-wave match is about 30 minutes, which is perfect for me)
-Ease of UI navigation

Cons:
-Minor bugs

-Race unlock system. It is not very good. What is so exciting about unlocking "Human Female Vanguard", especially when I already HAVE a female vanguard? It should be based on progression. Level up adept class, and you unlock asari.

-Lack of story. I suspect we'll get the full picture once we play through the singleplayer, but I do wish there was a little bit of story attached to the levels, or at least a description of these areas we're fighting for. As it is right now, we are just random soldiers plopped into an area and told to "get it back", which is fine... but I would like a little more description of the areas at least.

-Lack of squad commands. I will be playing co-op with my friends, but not all of the time. I will be using PUGs on xbox live, most without mics, and it would make co-ordination a lot easier if we had squad commands, such as "Attack this Target", "Follow Me", "Retreat" etc. I thought I saw something like this on the controller screen, but I couldn't get it to work.

-Lack of bosses. I think bosses should be in. The mechs definetly fit the bill, but I think it would be very cool to have actually bosses, maybe on the fifth and tenth wave. Like a special phantom that cloaks around and stealth kills everyone (creepy!), or a cerberus captain that has special abilities. And we get special rewards based on how fast we can kill them. That'd be cool.

But all in all, I love the multiplayer. I wasn't expecting much, and I came away very impressed. Montreal team really outdid themselves with this and I look forward to the launch of it.

Ran into a few glitches/bugs that might want to be checked

1) On the grey map (forget the map name) I died right before the end of wave 9 and when I revived at the start of wave 10 I fell half way through the map was stuck there for half the wave and fell the rest of the through the map and died

2) On both maps I would go into cover or use the charge power and would start to float above the ground/cover which made normal movement next to impossible

3) The Nova power is nice but sometimes doesn't respond as quickly as other powers do, sometimes it wouldn't cast at all.. Not sure if that is by design or not though

Other than those things the mp is very well done. Its more polished and fun than I expected it be for it being the first MP attempt in the series. Making it co-op instead of Vs was a great choice as Vs mode would feel out of place, at least at this point in the series.

I love the Krogan plain and simple. I very much dislike the fact that an Atlas can die off by itself if you are ignoring it.

Everyone seems to have an issue with the grab bag unlocking of races. I kinda like the system, but I do understand the frustration when you unlock the same gun/mod/race over and over. Perhaps there may be a way to at least analyze what has already been unlocked so that there are no doubles. Otherwise, great job Bioware!

i have a question.... are we going to be able to keep our unlocks from the multiplayer (ie my asai adept or weapons) into the full game?

this i have spent over 200k and havent unlocked anything new since my asai adept now maybe this is due to the fact that this is a demo then so be it but if not the problem can be solved by making it cost more to buy the packs so that we dont get double or triple items.... (ie spend 50k to unlock the kroger or 30k to unlock the turian)

I almost forgot there is one this that is my favorite in the MP is the ability Stasis. Once you fully upgrade it no one comes close to me. It is able to turn into a massive ball where multiple enemies can be trapped. best move ever!!

I also want to know this.

plus, character unlocking is tedious.
Maybe it would be better if the packs unlocked a character for your current class instead of a random one in a random class.

I think they should increase the rarity of the characters as you're getting more and more of them, so they're easy to get at first, so you can flesh out your options early and then the system upgrades those you haven't unlocked to the next rank of rarity when you have a certain number of characters.

Or something like it.
