This Demo was meant for MP I'm sure about that. I love the balance and how all classes have to rely on the others in order to survive. Balance is crucial, no one class to rule them all.

The only complaint I have is there needs to be another way to unlock classes. We are given alternate ways to unlock the demo, but no alternate ways to unlock Turians....I mean other races.

Well to start i would like to know why the people that have battlefield 3 can have early acess to the multilayer, but not the people that had earlier versions of the ME franchise or even the ones that pre ordered ME3 as his my case. Crappy marketing strategy in my opinion. It made me think that I am still in time to cancel the pre order, and who knows get it in one year at half price in some promotion.

lolwut?

So, it's available in the multiplayer, but not the singleplayer?

What kind of sense does that make?

Time to cancel our pre-order.

Jeebus, you realize that this 'someone' may have just been trolling right?  Or mistaken?  This is a demo!  Treat it as such, it's just a 'sampler' of the whole game, stuff will be left out by design.

Use the other race as a form of customization. Or maybe give the races a bonus to health, recharge rates, shields/barriers, weight capacity. i.e. quarians would have lower health but higher shields. or Krogans could carry a ton and also have a bonus to health. I dunno. I really don't need an incentive to play as a krogan or another race. It would be cool just to play as them to just play as them.

You do have a point. And the other races actually do have advantages. I have a Krogan Soldier at Level 12 and Krogans can sprint faster than Humans, deal more melee damage, and have better damage protection. Krogans are almost meant for melee; the standard melee attack is a headbutt and the heavy melee is a charging shoulder ram (both of which are totally awesome). Krogans also have a unique Rage mode that activates once you kill 3 enemies with melee within 30 seconds; Rage mode gives your Krogan increased damage protection, health, takes less damage, and increased melee damage for about 15 seconds, and these abilities can be upgraded to give you greater benefits as you level up. The downside to being a Krogan is that your standard running speed (not sprinting) is slower than Humans and you cannot dive/roll.

So already there's incentive to use the other races. But why only 3 powers per race per class? Because not only do people need to work together and combine their powers for them to be effective, but it's not practical to have the full range of powers. In order to use powers you don't have mapped to LB or RB, you need to hold down RB and select the power you wish from the power wheel. In SP this works fine because the game pauses for you; in MP though it would not work because the game would not be able to pause amidst an online match. ME3 MP is fast-paced and requires some quick reflexes to be successful and is difficult even at the easiest challenge level. Trying to bring up the power wheel with Cerberus grunts firing from in front of you would most certainly cause your own death. Not to mention, if you don't have a follow up power mapped to LB/RB you don't have the advantage of a paused game when accessing the power wheel to follow up with a combo. Most notable for instance is a Pull/Throw combo or Pull/Warp combo. In MP, you wont be able to pause the game to set up a proper angle to launch the Throw or Warp at the Pulled enemy.

BioWare had to find a good go-between and a good way to encourage teamwork, and thats why we only have 3 powers per race. If you have Pull, communicate with your teammates in the lobby to go with a class that has Warp, Throw, Concussion Shot, Carnage, or Shockwave. That way, when fighting Cerberus, you can essentially tag-team; you will set up a combo by using your Pull, and then your buddy can be sure to launch a Warp, Throw, etc at the target to get an easy kill. The MP is co-op for a reason, and while its too bad we can't have the full range of powers as an Adept or a Vanguard or what have you, there are certainly ways to make up for it, and that's getting teammates to do it. The MP is a team effort, and collaborating with your team before the match starts to get a good complement of powers between the four of you is just as essential as it is to communicate with them in the middle of a match to be successful and survive.

Not to mention, if you ask me, its so much more satisfying if my teammate Pulls someone and then I use my Warp on them to create a lovely biotic explosion. Makes me want to give them a high five lol. But that's just me :P

Apologies in advance for sounding a bit harsh here, but this information has only been out on the internet in many places including these forums and even this thread since November (not in this thread since November though obviously). Do a Google search or simply read around, which takes all of 30 seconds tops, before asking a question like this.

To answer your question though, people who redeemed a Battlefield 3 Online Pass are able to access the Multiplayer early starting yesterday. This only applies to the platform you redeemed the Pass on. For example if you redeemed the BF3 Online Pass for Xbox 360, you get early MP access for the ME3 Xbox 360 demo, not the PS3 or PC demos. MP unlocks for everyone on Friday, the 17th.

imo, its..... fine. It works almost exactly like the survival mode in a 3rd person shooter. I do have two minor gripes with it though, and a question.

1) The random unlocks are just broke/a bad idea, It's not so bad when its stuff like the extra medi-gel or ammo etc... but when you are getting the same weapon over and over again, and only unlocking 1 class out of a lot of boxes, thats a problem.

2) Executions..... seriously, theres not even a point to trying to keep yourself alive if there is an enemy near you, he'll just walk over and stamp on your head.

Question: If I actualy wanted to give the MP a go in the main game once or twice, will I be able to keep that progress entirely away from the singleplayer? I know that you can just not play the MP, but if a friend wants to give it a go with me I don't want it to touch my single player at all if thats possible?

I was scared of Multiplayer at first but now I must say, It is alot of of fun. I enjoy the hell out of it. It flows with ME style and combat well, and feels great playing with friends and such.

The Random packs is annoying, ive gotten the Avenger 3 times now and its annoying.

The Executions get me on edge, As soon as im down and my team mates are in a firefight and I see Cerberus run by, I start freaking out and shouting for a medic now, so yeah....

Again, you don't unlock the same weapons over and over; you unlock an upgraded version of the weapon. For instance you start with the Avenger Assault Rifle Level 1, but you can unlock upgraded versions of it so you'll get Avenger Level 2, Level 3, and so on. These upgraded levels increase the overall stats of the weapon.

@Foxtrot: And again, you are unlocking an upgraded Avenger assault rifle, not a useless "re-unlock" of the weapon.

I wonder how many times I've said this on this thread...

Theres a very popular game that kind of started the modern-trend "Horde" mode. Its called uh....Gears of War 2 and Gears of War 3. Horde Mode only has 50 waves, and those Horde games take upwards of 2 hours to finish. 99 waves is absolutely absurd.

Ok 99 waves does seem a bit too much, but more then 11 would be nice

I found myself happily getting lost in countless hours playing the multiplayer. Completely exceeded my expectations for a company that barely scratches the surface with multiplayer on consoles. I know what ill be doing when i get home from work....warp bombing online with my adept.

Wasnt a fan of multiplayer. I dont like horde mode it wasnt really fun to me. Now, if it had player's vs player's on it then i think i would have enjoyed multiplayer alot more but i understand its only a demo.

The turian model is perfection. I just wish he could shout "for Palaven" just like the krogan does for Tuchanka.

Dislikes:
Turian sentinel, or the nerf to sentinel you did in general, even though overload is better this time around.
Characters feel way too impersonal, feel like you could have added more than one armor, one face. Other armor models for the turians would have rocked, along with fringe style and length (not talking about full of character creator, just a set of picks).
The turian animations seem very lackluster in comparison to the other races, if there even is anything special the turian can do (in comparison to something like the drell jump-spin animation)?
Different voices would also have been really cool, to make them sound either younger or older.

Probably way too particular, redundant and much to ask for, or wish for rather, but I really am kind of disappointed over how impersonal my character feels. I'd rather have tweaks to make it more "mine" instead of a million color choices for the same armor over and over.

I freaking love the MP, just unlocked the Revenant, so I'm gonna test it out when I come home from work. Otherwise, I just encourage people --> if you have a mic, please use it. Especially when you notice an Atlas coming your way while your teammates are occupied, always useful, no?

Remember this is the DEMO of the game.  You shouldn't get attached to your DEMO toons, they are only gonna go away with the release of the accutual game.  Who would want to spend 20+ hours getting everything that the full game has, just to lose it when it gets released and you have to start over.....
