Really fun multiplayer but I do have to agree with others, that the random unlocks are a little annoying.

At the very least I'd say make the character customization stuff available as you level that specific character. So every three levels or so you unlock a new random appearance customization option.

I've just been dying to further customize my Turian Sentinel is all, but I never seem to get any stuff for him.

I love the multiplayers, especially with 4 XBL friends it was rockin'! Especially Mail-Slotting Guardians with a Mantis/Widow.  :o

So, having said this, there are a two things that were amiss:

No way to call a target
. This is my main gripe. In Gears of War, you can push the left analog stick to designate a target - useful to pick out high priority targets first, and coordinate targets without a headset.

There was a minor glitch: after a player went DBNO and the wave completed without him, he revived - but his name box still said "Revive" for the remainder of the mission.

That is all.

Agreed. And you lucky waffle got my beloved Turian Sentinel, but alas I am stuck with a derpy human female sentinel. It sours the experience a bit, having to play a character I don't want to play to get the character I'd like to play. :?

Sentinel's are my fav class, and not having Overload as HFS is a thorn in the boot.

Absolutely loving the game in every way,
but it REALLY needs a feature to let you search for local games. been
getting bad connection problems because im connected to guys from
accross the world. also a party search function would be great

Weird. I'm living in the EU, and have XBL friends in the US, much to my surprise we played together without lag issues.

I hate phantoms SO MUCH! They're next to impossible to kill as a human soldier unless you carry a shotgun (which I don't) Wave 10 on Silver it was me against a phantom as that was the last one standing. Stupid b!tch kept cloaking, healing, and coming at me. Wish I could unlock a Krogan to give them a taste of their 1-hit KO medicine

I'm surprised at how well the classes are balanced. Haven't touched my Sentinel yet but will tonight. Playing with 3 friends last night was the most fun I have had playing games in a while. *Slow clap for Bioware*

I wish we got to keep our progression a little however. Oh well.

If someone has a nice leveled overload Phantoms can be taken out with somewhat ease. My Turian Sentinel can basically blast their barrier off them in one hit. From there they usually retreat and it's easy to come down on them then.

Always play a soldier as well.  I found that a consistent use of Concussive Shot with a Frag Grenade or two thrown into the mix, make her a bit more manageable to deal with.  She's still a b!tch though.

I'm enjoying this multiplayer immensely. The fact that we haven't yet seen all the maps and, right now, are facing only one enemy type just has me excited to see what's to come down the road. I think the teamwork-emphasis and the different ME character classes (great balance...I've played most of them in the MP and you really can play them all pretty well in a team-based atmosphere if you know what you're doing) make this a pretty fun experience. As far as the amount of waves goes, I think the current 10 (11 with extraction) works fine. I was never a fan of "horde-type" games that go on too long anyway. Get in, finish up, and move on to the next mission. Also, less chance of people dropping certainly helps too, and you can do it all in under a half an hour.

One of the only negatives I've taken from the demo experience so far is the matchmaking. I think it would've been pretty nice to be able to "party up" and move on from there with a friend, but I'll see if I can try and make it work when it comes time for the full game. Finally, concerning the random unlocks, I'm actually fine with them...provided, you know, it's not INSANELY hard to actually unlock a character or get at least something similar to what you want. The system will certainly keep me playing on, even if I do end up maxing out a character level, if need be. Again, though, as long as it stays as an in-game credits based system and I will eventually get a better chance of unlocking characters with the bigger veteran packs.

Nice work so far though BioWare. It's been a different MP dynamic as far as meeting up with players online goes and I've had a good time to this point getting through a couple of full missions.

Yeah the party system could use some work. I mean for most multiplayer on 360 we have the ability to party up and then move our entire party (What will fit) to a match that'll fit us.

It'd be nice if a party of two could easily find a match with two empty slots. Without that ability we're left sort of splitting the party up and then diving into game after game looking for an empty spot for our friend.

I freakin' love it.

My only two gripes are this at the moment.

1. Connection is sometimes a problem. Not often, but occasionally.

2. I think the races/classes should be level unlocks rather than random package drops. I've gotten more than anyone I know, but I've been playing for days, have a combined level of 59, and only have three other races unlocked.

Yeah, like I've been saying too I think it'd be nice to unlock customization for your specific character as you level your specific character that you're using currently.

So you'd hit level 5 as Krogan Soldier or something and unlock a new appearance option for Krogan Soldier.

Invisible turrets

other phantoms ;)
some hotkeys missclicking)

And if this is demo, mb will be nice to unlock little faster new characters))

My only real critism so far is having to buy the veteran pack in hopes of randomly unlocking a class needs to change. Whether by level progression or something else waiting to ply a race/class based on pure luck of the draw is strictly no bueno.

I wish I could headbutt them. But the mystery boxes of mystery won't give me a Krogan character  :crying:

Originally I was going for a salarian, but krogans... are so much more fun. It's just running around and headbutting when the mood strikes you.
I hope get lucky with boxes, it's a worthy experience.

Crazy isn't it? I was playing yesterday and we came to the revelation, "Guys, this is JUST a demo."

Really enjoyable multiplayer. Great job! I think the current unlocking mechanism is okay. I like surprises. Plus if you could unlock stuff thorugh leveling, I think people would just end up looking (and playing) exact same. Because of random unlockables, you can't predict other players. Makes things more interesting. (Not that the gap between would be very huge at the moment but still)

But the one thing I'd bring up is amount of xp/money earned depending on the amount of players. I think if people are playing with less people or even alone, they should earn some bonus xp/money. Though the problem here would be that this could encourage players to solo these missions.

Multiplayer is awesome! I love playing a Vanguard.

I have one question though: Does everything we unlock in this demo get imported in our full game?

For example: I have a lvl 6 Soldier and a lvl 6 Vanguard right now, do they transfer to the full Mass Effect 3 game when it comes out?

Very well, the game itself is very enjoyable.
For the weapon unlocks, make them like in BF3 - based either on kills or points with a gun.
Race unlocks should have been bound to leveling not random packs.
The evade system is sometimes too sensitive, and meele is a bit sluggish if they are moving.

Btw I love killing Cerberus :D

It's good to see impressions so far are mostly positive, especially since the SP side of the demo has been getting much more mixed reviews.

However, we need to keep in mind that all of us here so far who have reviewed it got early access thanks to Battlefield 3. Since that game is multiplayer-focused, it's logical to conclude that pretty much everyone here is favorably disposed toward multiplayer. The real test will be when everyone gets access to the MP portion of the demo, especially because we all know that multiplayer in ME was never a popular subject on BSN until Bioware started releasing the details. Then again, I'm sure many of the hardliners against multiplayer won't even give it a chance...

I was VERY surprised at how fun and challenging the multiplayer was.  I knew BW was going to deliver an epic finale to Shepard's story, but the new multiplayer is fantastic.  The various classes and races seem to function well and complement each other, as well as the ability to customize pretty much everything about your guy.  My only issues are the inability to spend credits on specific items I want/need, especially with the weight system playing heavily into ability cool downs many people will only use a single weapon.  Also the match making seems a bit wonky, such as getting stuck on load screens, and it seems that if you create a public game and invite a friend, the group won't fill with randoms even though all slots are public.

Nobody have this bug: when you change a leveled character to another leveled character, powers at the left up corner disappears. I neeed to reload the game to work again with all the powers in the upper bar.

I was just in a scenario where I started a mission as an engineer and for some reason Overload was the only ability on my number buttons, the others were all conspicuously absent, either fix this bug for the final game or, take the simple solution and let us move abilities around the numbers as we see fit.
