I must say last night I had the best time in multiplayer with ME3 than I have had in years.
After some random matches I settled into working on a human soldier, and I ended up getting paired with a person playing a human vanguard. I was about level 5, and he was a couple below. We did bronze level matches. The first few rounds, we had our hineys handed to us in pieces pretty quickly, but we both had mikes and built up synergy. We progressed well, and were even able to get to Wave 10 a couple of times (never made to Wave 11's extraction phase though). Woo, it was awesome.
I must say the phantoms were quite a challenge, and with two folks the objective based missions, especially the one to take out 4 assigned targets, made for some frenetic action. Our very last game, it was Wave 9 or 10 I think, and the first such target turned out to be an Atlas. With the assortment of support baddies on our butts, we lived to see the time run out, but we didn't get that Atlas down.
What I really like about the MP is . . . when you accomplish something in it, it was a workout, and it made for a fine moment with a sense of accomplishment. You only get to enjoy it for a moment though, as right away you're off to the next objective (even if that objective is to not get creamed!).
My hats off to the person I played with; he is definitely the better player of the two of us I believe, and is a joy to play with.
Grunt gets his due too. Every time I landed a concussive shot, I could hear his voice in my head yelling "Ha! On your ass!"
Have to wonder what the non Cerberus enemies will be bringing to the party . . .
