2 little issues i've found:

1) sometimes when Aiming from cover you don't get the proper zoom effect, just end up looking at the back of your own head

2) in random spots around both maps i find my positon keeps jumping between one or two places at random. easiest way to describe what it looks like would be to pick an object on your wall and hold up one finger over it, then close one eye, then swap eyes the way your finger the object appear to move is what i'm seeing, but i know this isn't lag related because i can still fire, use powers etc with no problem

I encountered a fairly serious bug today.  When attempting to purchase the Vetren Pack in multiplayer I got an error message something to the effect of "could not complete purchase at this time, try again later.  Please contact customer support if this issue persists."  However, the game took my 20,000 credits, I had 27,000 before and 7,000 after, so I couldn't even try to purchase it again.

No way me too! That happened today to me and i posted it in another thread. Pissed the hell out of me after i was happy with my 40,000+ credits after i won me first Silver match! I would be pissed as heck if this happens to me in the retail game. :alien:

Just choose quick game match (actually).  It should set you up with one.  Either drop you in a round that's ongoing or put you in a group before they start one.

I just started one and people just joined.  Going back now. =)

just had a big glitch, managed to get into a game and spend most of my time immobile or moving in the middle of the floor then falling outside the map.

I've been playing the multiplayer a fair amount now, and have a level 18 (I think? I have two maxed skills) Sentinel and have mostly been playing on bronze and silver on the PC version.

I'm really enjoying it as far as horde modes go. The action/shooting aspect of the game is (yet again) leaps and bounds better than it's predecessor, and it's now up to a level where it's "just fun" to shoot stuff for hours on end.
  • Very fun setting off biotic combinations with other players, but I'm still not able to tell when we manage to do a successful detonation. I know there's a big boom and everything, but I don't know if that boom is from a regular power.
  • The objectives (hacking, priority targets, etc) help break up the routine you often get in horde modes and forces you out of your comfort zone. I'd like more of these, both in terms of frequency and variation.
  • Reviving players can get frustrating due to the key(/button) sharing so many actions. Quite often when someone is incapacitated near a wall, I only try to rez them if I know I can afford spending half a minute accidentally getting in and out of cover. I know a couple of people who stopped playing the multiplayer altogether because of this.
  • The weapon modification screen isn't very intuitive when using it with a mouse. I'm guessing it's designed with a gamepad in mind.
  • I'm still not clear on whether "+100" means xp or cash.
  • The enemy deployable turrets are a bit too resilient - it's not that they're hard, I just find they bring the pacing to a grinding halt as you spam the same power 3-4 times or expend half your ammo on what's essentially a free kill.
  • Really wishing for some more visual customization. My fave classes look awfully generic. Wouldn't mind different helmets.
  • I know this is being brought up a lot already, but I'll just pitch in saying that matchmaking can get sketchy (getting stuck at "communicating  /  loading" a lot and having to alt+f4), but I'm also not able to invite friends to play at all, even when opening our ports and disabling our firewalls.

In the past 30 mins searching for a Silver game I haven't been able to find a single game without someone lower than level 7. It's frustrating.

And I can't search for a game with a friend either...matchmaking is pretty bad at the moment.

Please make it so that those under level 10-15 CAN'T join Silver and Gold differculties. It's very demoralising to waste so much time on that bad Matchfinder system only to get in a Silver lobby with nothing but Char level 1's N-level 1's... Sad because it's true...

And add a Chat please, this isn't a consol.

As to other bugs:
Had the "Losing connection during purchase", the items still get bought, but most of the time you don't get the Status screen.

Managed to unlock the second Heavy Pistol, lost connection in the following round and found that my previous Veteran purchase had rerolled. Gotten all of the money back and lost my gun...

Other than that, loving the MP demo and really looking forward to release.

couple of things I'd like to report from the PS3 side:

AI - largely very good, however, it does make some questionable moves, such as standing in wall cover despite the fact you're actually already appraoching from behind them. Phantom's occasionally seem to glitch and get flung huge distances for no reason - only happened twice so far

Maps - kinda feel samey, but that's just me - just the choice of demo maps tbh, would've prefered one narrow map and an open one.

classes - Vanguard feels really over-powered in MP, as does the Adept, which the Engineer feels weaker than it perhaps should be - i know their not meant for full on fighting, but a little tweak could improve things.

Interface - liking the Verteran and Recruit packs to unlock things, though feel the odds could do with a bit of tweaking here and there.

Online - Servers seem to be up and down, and when a server connection fails, you lose your progress, which is very annoying if it dies in the last few seconds of wave 11 :( . However, when I have played through games fully (which has been a lot), gameplay has felt seemless with no hint of lag

just my thoughts :)

Had a pretty good session today on Bronze level. After a couple rough starts we finally started working as a unit. Quite satisfying. I can see it being fun for perhaps a month then it's just gonna get stale. Be curious if there is gonna be some other modes like rescue missions or something.

Please... A clock to start the round, I hate to wait up to 5 minutes between matches just because one dude haven't hit the option "ready" because he's doing something else.

I love everything about the multiplayer except the unlocking system. It does kind of bug me when I buy my third veteran pack and get yet another human male soldier that I haven't even bothered to use in the game. I think the game shouldn't be perfectly random and use some logic to give us NEW stuff instead of recycled characters.

Other than that, I am VERY happy with the multiplayer. I hope our unlocks carry over!

I have always been a massive mass effect fan i love the game so much and am very good at it the idea of putting multiplayer shocked me up first however as ive been playing it and ive noticed its proberly the best idea ever. one thing you could look at improving is the variety of weapons and mods you get throw in a couple more unless you are saving them for the actual game fair enough. also are we going to any more in the demo?

And another thing i think you should be able to fully customise your charicters armour change his sholders his helmet and make it so you unlock new armour in reinforcement packages.

Hello Bioware:  I enjoy the mult demo till I lost all what I done, over 50 kills and up to wave 7 when the host quit, the match just stop and then I didn't get credit for match :( .    Can you fix this, the host quit the rest stay online?   Plus my concerns is will this affect my single story if I dont play mult part ME3?

Interrupting the action of reloading with almost anything besides reloading itself is a complete pain. Alright, rolling around on the ground should prevent you from putting in another heat sink. Ducking into cover should not. Neither should changing your speed from plodding along at 3mph to "sprinting" at 10mph.

Yeah I noticed that too Droid... it's annoying when you suffer for other people being quitters. It should at least give the exp/creds that you accumulated in the game... at Wave 7that's approx. 7.5k Credits (you end up with ~15k if you complete Bronze and 2.5 of that comes from extraction and an extra few k come from the Wave 10 objective...)

As for the gameplay itself:

Maps - I agree with Andomguy both are too small to BOTH be on the same demo. It would have perhaps been better served if you had a larger map as the second.

classes - i disagree with Andom here (not on the Biotic classes as they are immense... I noticed alot of Biotic Powers got a HUGE reduction of Recharge time from ME, like Singularity going from 4.5 Seconds to 1.5 Seconds nut also Combat Drones do some serious damage now (Iliterally just watched as one slaughtered a Cerberus Trooper)

Enemies - I have to say it is annoying that ATLASes and Turrets can detect a Cloaked Infiltrator, although I suppose it is understandable. Nemesis are easily dealt with at any range, there sniper is way too slow compared to yours... Guardians are interesting and force you to rethink a strategy (granted as an Asari Adept Shotgunner my strategy tends to be Throw, unload clip of Scimitar Ammo, Throw, Unload Clip of Scimitar ammo so mine fits right into it... Lasly the Phantoms are pains in the asses they are nigh on impossible to hit with Powers and their Melee is PAINFUL to recieve... still Heavy Melee does a good job of keeping the slippery bugger away I suppose... god they're gonna be deadly on Insane during the Campaign...

Gameplay - Mass Effect seems to have fallen victim to the infamous "One Button to Rule them All" that most great games succumb to. With A being responsible for *Deep breath* reviving, vaulting, storming getting into cover, rolling AND using objects... It can become a pain to use the combat... Still this will be solved by simple adaptation.

Servers - Connection is hard to get especially with the search system, hopefully some players don't buy the game (some people alwaysjudge the demo before buying as I do most games), also if possible could BioWare get a few more servers up and running to help reduce traffic? Finally it is also possible that people don't enjoy the MP at all and instead pay solely for thecampaign. Bottom line is that the lag should fade away over time...

Overall - Despite it's flaws (which every multiplayer game has) this is

Just had a very weird bug. Played my Krogan Soldier for the first time, and suddenly i couldn't do any damage to the enemies, they could hurt me and my teammates could hurt them, but could do nothing.

Then my shotgun disappeared and my Krogan started stuttering to the right, and shortly after the enemies froze and my teammates moved in slowmotion.

First off, I apologize if any criticism of mine has already been resolved or answered. I just couldn't bring myself to read all 40 pages.
At any rate, I started multiplayer as an Engineer, unsure what to expect but hoping that he could handle whatever was thrown at him. During customization, while looking at the classes, I decided that I really, really wanted to play as a Salarian Infiltrator, promising myself I would grind until I unlocked that specific class. One Veteran Pack later, I found myself in possession of the stealthy Salarian I wanted, but a Krogan Soldier. Although I was initially annoyed, I found myself growing more and more attached to the Krogan, and even enjoying the heavy in your face style of play, which was quite contrary to how I had played through Mass Effect 1 and 2. So here's what I noticed while playing the Krogan from level 1 to 20.
Pros:
  • I'm surprisingly satisfied with the grab bag style of purchases, which (as I aready said) gave encouraged me to change my style of gamely and greatly enhanced my experience
  • I noticed many people were unhappy that it was hard to play with only 2 players. I found this untrue. It was only hard at lower levels. However, starting at around levels 12-14, I noticed that with the right person and strategy (in this case, Krogan Soldier with Infiltrator) two player became a doable challenge. To me, this indicates a good balance of difficuty, as the multiplayer was obviously designed for 4, and thus encourages players to get experience with a larger group before attempting a solo or duo run.
  • I loved the structure and gameplay of the small maps. There weren't really any places you could safely camp on either, given that enemies spawned from multiple random locations. So I might have one really easy, satisfying wave where as soon as enemies make to the map they are destroyed, followed by a wave where I'm constantly running away (or chasing someone, given that I was playing as a Krogan)
My cons are really nitpicky stuff- mostly things that I'd like to see in my ideal Mass Effect multiplayer, but generally not necessary
  • While I do appreciate the random purchases, it would be nice to have a little more variety in options. For example, I noticed myself constantly running out of medigel and ammo/armor upgrades. It'd be kind of nice to see an "equipment pack", where the items would still be random, but within the peramiters of equipment (medigel, missiles, ops packs, ammo packs, ammo/armor equipment upgrades, and the weapon upgrades that can only be used for one game)
  • I also found slightly annoying that you had to unlock further character customization through purchases. It was hard enough to get one Krogan unlock, getting three or four seems almost impossible. It'd be kind of nice if character customization (the colors of lights, armor and skin) were unlocked through XP rather than purchases.
  • I didn't really like how classes leveled up, rather than characters. Despite only playing as a human soldier once, my starting male soldier is now level 20, and I won't have the satisfaction of playing him from level 1, meaning I woun't get to truly experience the different evolution of playstyles for the different races of the same class.
  • I also think it'd be kind of cool to have actual armor customization, where one could unlock different helmets and other parts to use for different characters.
  • I wonder if there will be different game types as well, as I imagine game after game of wave after wave would get rather dull.
  • Other than that, most of my annoyance was directed at the lore of the game, and how it transferred over to multiplayer. For example, why are Krogans-- who are notorious for their dislike of subterfuge and technology based combat-- sentinels? Wouldn't it make more sense to have Krogan vanguards and Drell sentinels? Furthermore, why are Turians able to use biotic powers now, despite never displaying any biotic talents in the other games? Woudn't a Turian Infiltrator fit better? Also, where are the Quarian Males?
Overall, playing multiplayer was incredibly fun, I just hope to see more expansion of it in the future, and more connection to the lore of the other games and single player campaign.

So far I've really enjoyed it.

The matches are a lot of fun.

What bothers me, is the time between the matches.

The Match-Making-System is insufficient.
You can either make a public or private match. You can't start a match with two friends and wait for a third, public player, without the risk of someone joining before your buddies can.
Today I joined a match, just to see how the host started to try kick-votes against me and another player, until he left the lobby.
Another thing: In some matches the Warp wouldn't function properly. In one match I could use the Singularity, but wouldn't get a combo with the warp, even though it hit six times.
I guess this results from my ping towards the host of the game.
It would be nice to have a filter for that, or even a "match-browser".

Second thing is the package-system for unlocks.
It's terrible, if you try to get a certain mod/weapon/character.
This has been noted several times in the forums I think.
And though I like the excitement of surprises, I'm desperate for the AR-scope(and I bought my fair share of recruit-/veteran-packages).
While some things aren't in the demo, I think I saw the AR-scope in one of the matches on the AR of some other player.
I'd suggest something like "request-packages".
A little worse regarding the "items for bucks"-value than the recruit-/veteran-packages, but a little more specific.
One for equipment, one for weapons, one for characters and one for weapon-mods, each containing three items.

I've seen many issues present in the PC version. A really big one is a glitch where I seem to be a ghost during the game. I can shoot, but I can't apply damage. This may have been lag but with no ping counter and everything else working properly, I couldn't tell. I couldn't get ammo and my abilities didn't have any effect. There are other minor bugs, such as issues with the game filters and sometimes not being able to refill ammo.

Does anyone know if our level and character from the demo is connected to our EA account and if we'll be able to use them for the real game?

Edit: nvm I found the answer. I enjoyed multiplayer but I think I'll wait til the real game comes out, don't want to spend all that time in MP for nothing.

I want to know if anyone had an issue with not having the hotkeys filled in or just one hotkey filled in after changing a character.

Had that happen to me about an hour ago. Switched from my Infiltrator (since max lvl was 20) to my Sentinel and the only ability I had available to me in the hotkeys was push (number 3). Played two matches like that before I quit and restarted the game.
