I really loved the multiplayer, and have been playing it as much as possible, but there were a few things that I personally think would improve the experience overall.

1) When you get a head shot, it would be great if there was some kind of indication on the scoring that you had done so.

2) The ability to search for a game with friends - I've spent a lot of time when I've been with only one other friend where we try to get into a game of three and then invite the other - It's a little frustrating, and if there was some way to search as a party, I think this would be really useful.

I just thought I should let you guys know that everyone I know that has played the demo has put a SIGNIFICANT amount of time into it. Also it has won people over who have never played Mass Effect before and they will be buying ME3

Here goes mine....

.....IT'S F***ING AWESOME. You just made ME3 immortal. Who knows, maybe it will  become more popular than ME3 itself. I never liked online games, but this.....CHANGED MY HEART. GREAT JOB!!!

I usualy use a sniper and an assault rifles, thought a would mix it up and use a shotgun but it was a pain as it was taken 2 or more shots to kill someone in point blank range. i wish i unlocked a krogan but nope still stuck with the default characters and i have bought so many of the packs but still havnt unlocked anyone else

On the whole, great job on the multiplayer.  It is amazing and defintiely exceeds my expectations.  I love the weight system, as it forces a trade off between guns and powers.  It forces you to make real trade-offs vs. the other games where you could have it all, so to speak. I do agree that the soldier should get a mugh higher weight capacity though, as that class is based around guns, and having all guns + using adrenaline rush should be an option.  I play as a vanguard with only a shotgun to keep the weight down, and it is a blast.  I also like how it encourages experimentation, like my vanguard with only a sniper rifle (which worked surprisingly well, take down their shields from afar, then charge).  Couple things though.

(1) I actually like the random loot system, but understand how frustrating it can be.  I think you should keep it the way it is, but also allow players to buy individual rare items they want, but at very inflated prices.  Like a specific uncommon item (e.g. mattock) should be 50k, and a rare item like the widow should be 100k, when you could get either of them in a 20k veteran pack if you're lucky.  That way you can save for a specific item to limit frustration or just buy the packs.

(2) Weirdest bug ever.  During one game my player was levitating and moving around very slowly, he couldn't fire his gun, and proceeded to get higher and higher off the map until I was looking down at it (great scenery by the way).  This is probably because I was a vanguard and charge bugged and placed me on top of something.  Even when I was way off the map, I was still getting shot and downed, so I was probably just stuck somewhere on everyone else's screen.

(3) The vanguard is absolutely amazing and so much fun.  Charge + nova + charge = WIN.  Please pull all devs from all other classes and just make the vanguard as perfect as possible.

(4) Up the point total for assists, as some classes are just better then others at finishing the job.  Vanguards and Infiltrators steal all the kills due to their "instantaneous" killing ability charge/shotgun and snipers respectively.  The poor adepts always get hosed.

On the whole though, I have been very pleasantly surprised.  Keep it up!

For all the positive feedback that I ought to be giving here, instead you get my one major frustration:

RNG unlocks.

Who thought that would be fun? Seriously, it's a cruel joke - I am N7 rank 81 and have only received 1 or 2 Rare items (a Krogan Soldier and the Locust SMG, IF that one is even rare).

This isn't going to keep me coming back for more. I barely want to play with my friends when all they can talk about is the new characters or rare weapons they get from Vet packs, and my Vet packs are all Uncommon weapon upgrades, or a mod upgrade if I'm lucky.

Think I'm going to shelve my love for Mass Effect and just play Battlefield 3 - at least I know what I'm investing in with that game: a clearly defined unlock system where I can work to attain something... anything...

Multiplayer is tons of fun, however I think it would do better with a party system like MW3. If I want to play with a group of two or three (and not wait around forever for one or two more public people to show) I think there should be a public party screen where you are shown the people in your group together before you try to get onto a public match. I know if I had four buddies who wanted to play the game at once it would make my concern moot but usually it's just one or two other guys with me.

The unlock system can be pretty frustrating, it is luck based, so whilst some are loving it, others will hate it. Maybe in the full release more specialized packs would be appropriate, say a race pack, where you get 3 character cards definately, but it would cost more due to the lesser gamble?

As far a s the multiplayer coop itself goes, there isn't much to say, its amazingly exciting and provides endless hours of fun, heck I had so much fun in the demo so far I'd pay for it.

My only problems are the bugs, but that's to be expected, so far the most frustrating one by far (for me) is a bug where when I try to switch characters the abilities won't translate over properly to the quickbar, apart from the third one, for all the other abilities I'd have to hold shift and select them.

Some balancing is required too, the sniper rifles are VERY powerful, everyone uses a sniper and they're not all that heavy, bar the widow, whilst the shotguns are nowhere near as good as you'd expect them to be they're quite disappointing really. All the other weapons seem balanced (excluding the rare carnifex pistol, its so powerful and light, it feels like I'm cheating)

As far as the classes go, they're all nicely done, the engineer seems a bit weak though, whenever I play as one I max out on the heaviest guns since the abilities aren't of that much use.

Overall I think the multiplayer is a blast, its been so long since I had so much fun in a game.

I love the multiplay, even the crates. Everytime A game comes out with something, that makes you work for it, people always have to complain.

My biggest gripe, Usually when the "leader" leaves the game, everyone gets nothing. There's been plenty of times in the past few days, where the leader just leaves, all because he died, or doesn't have the highest score. If anything, the host should get nothing. Why penalize everyone for? Even if, it's because of a lost connection.

I'd also love to see, level restrictions on all the difficulty's (or some sort of meta score with items) public games only
Chat in the lobby would be a welcomed feature.
Easier Revives when one of your teammates is near a wall
Latency Gauge
Server Browser
Fix some of the bugs, especially sliding AI
Throwing grenades over an object, sometimes shows the animation, but doesn't throw one
A few more Character classes

All I can think of atm.

I really like the mulitplayer, it still needs some tweaking here and there, but it's more or less perfect.

Do we know how many waves there are, or is it unlimited?

Love it.

Well done Bioware, and your first attempt at multiplayer as well.

One concern however, is that fully maxed out Stasis is horribly overpowered.

I have never played multiplayer anything before, so I guess I am one of those "new people" Bioware wants to recruit. And mostly it has worked. I am really enjoying the multiplayer overall. That said, I have to add my complaints to the broken recruit/veteran pack lottery. It does not take long for the Christmas morning high to wear off when all you get is socks and underwear, in this case literally. After numerous purchases I now have zero unlocked characters, a load of upgrades and mods for weapons I don't use, and the ability to change the color of my underwear. Watch out Cerberus! Now my longjohns are red! I would recommend buying items from categories (i.e. Recruitment, Weapons, Mods, Support Items) to cut down on the shift from anticipation to irritation that has been occurring for me.

 Surprisingly substantial gameplay.

Hindered by the entire multi-character character/race-unlocking ... thing. I'm not just complaining about two issues there, the whole thing is rather flawed. It's difficult for me to enjoy the full potential of various play-styles when I know that, when starting in a new class, I'll be starting from scratch. Actually, maybe that's for the best, because the alternative is me getting good in one class = me getting good in .. all of them?

Okay, forget about that. The character-unlock system just needs to be fixed. It's very humiliating having to buy a supply-pack in the hope of unlocking the damn quarian this time. Makes me mad just thinking about it.

i agree with string3r, stasis is very overpowered. i had a bug earlier today, when i couldn't collect ammo (wasted it all during wave 2) and had to play till the end with only stasis/throw. So guess what - we won and i was in second place lol (silver difficulty). Imagine doing that with any other class.

On the other hand, i think phantoms are way too powerful. i think they should not be able to attack from distance, that would balance the game a little.

Might have been said before in this thread.

For many Mass Effect fans the option to play as their favourite race is a big selling point in MP. If possible, instead of a random race from Starter Pack, would it be possible for Bioware to instead make it a "choose your own race" card? I would love to play Turians myself and I know I'd be frustrated playing over and over and over and not getting it.

The Demo overall was Amazing, but I would like to point out the fact, that me and fellow gamers have discussed, is the backdrop for the levels, especially Firebase White on Noveria, where most of the backdrop is visible. The problem I have, with the backdrop, is when I zoom onto the backdrop, its becomes very blurry and has poor detail. I know this isn't a massive issue, as he have included moving objects in the background such as the gunship, but it would be great if you could improve on it, as it would make the experience, a whole lot better. Another issue, is that once you complete the level, and you go the stat screen it shows your score, what I would like to see added, if it wouldn't hurt, is scoreboard of the amount of kills you got, so as fellow gamers, are able to see who got the most kills. An additional problem I had with the level Firebase White, was that when of my teammates died, we had just revived him, this caused a glitch, in which he was teleported underneath the landing pad, to my friend he could see under the landing pand, to the rest of the team and the AI we could see a constantly disappearing, but staying in one place teammate, the problem with this was that, my teammate was actually alive, he could not move, but was able to use powers, and the AI would attack him, but were unable to attack, this was useful for holding off enemies whilst we waited for extraction, but my friend was upset that he had no real part in defending, as he was glitched until the game ended. My final problem, which once again has appeared on Firebase White, is that me and my teammates were attacked by an invisible turret. We were on the landing pad, ad we saw a combat engineer placing a turret, we managed to kill him, whilst he was placing the turret, when he was killed the turret disappeared, we thought we destroyed, but suddenly we getting shot out of nowhere, it took us a while to work out, until someone found it and pummeled it to death, though it was destroyed, it was a challenge to find it!

Thank you, for taking the time to read this, and I hope you take these problems into account!
P.S. The problems I had were on the Xbox 360 Demo

I've leveled one of my characters to level 16. I'm worried with the very near launch date several major criticisms will not be addressed however here goes:

Strength:

-Powers and combos feel god-like. I big pat on the back for whoever realized all of the Mass Effect powers would kick-ass in a multiplayer situation.

-Unlocking weapons, mods, characters, and powers is addictive.

-Great focus on teamwork. I love the tight knit challenges and the way people are consistantly working together.

-Various classes are fun and having a diverse group makes for a strong team. Whenever I see four different classes in my game lobby I get really excited.

Weakness:

-Control Response.
Once in a while I hit my power button (Vanguard) and nothing happens. I'm mashing it, I check that the cooldown has cleared, if its charge the enemy was in sight, if its Nova I should be good to go, nothing. Other buttons have response issues in certain situations or locations as well. Charge itself has issues I'm sure you are already working on. I also wish the heavy melee had more intial response. Holding a button for that long can be a dangerous investment, it's nice to know its actually charging.

-Cover button.
I'm not sure how its fixed. It's still terrible and I tell you the secret why: you can't have a button associated with increased linear movement also associate with a sudden stopping of said movement. Who would have thunk it?! Also, considering you use that same button for everything else, at least make cover different.

-Movement.
It's too slow and awkwark. It kind of feels like my character can't run in diagnals very easily and the default speed of movement for a constant combat situation is unacceptably slow.

-Tunnel Vision.
The camera, particularly for a close combat class, creates absolute tunnel vision. An enemy can be standing right next to me and I don't know it (really fun when he spawned there). Camera needs to compensate for lack of peripheral vision and quick looking that exists in the natural world until a better virtual counterpart is created.

I don't know if these are already fixed, being worked on, or if it's too late and this post is pointless. I really am holding out hope they will be addressed as strengths keep me wanting more but the weaknesses are causing too much frustration.

Negatives:

1) Sick of "Host has ended the session" as soon as I join a game lobby 80% of the time.

2) Sick of Hosts KICKING me and other people from a lobby because we are not high level's yet. Well, guess what? People cent get to a high level if NO ONE WILL LET YOU PLAY!!

3) Sick of having to buy the freakin' Equipment Packs every single time you get finished with a game. Over and over again. This is one of the WORST set-ups for item earning I have EVER seen in a MP game. When I buy something I want to keep it, I don't want to have to keep buying over and over again EVERY SINGLE TIME I start a new session. I honestly am sick of it, it's going to be a complete hassle doing this constantly if it is left in the actual game. I honestly think this is the stupidest set-up for item earning I have ever seen in game. Flat out ridiculous.

4) Movement of character animation is off. You "float" more than you actually move. Needs alot more precision.

5) Pointing forward towards an enemy is off if they move left or right because the direction movement is off. Again, partial because of the "floating". Reminds me of Jedi Academy Single Player on PC, you "floated" in that as well.

6) Cover system is not up to par. I find myself either not going to cover, or going to cover wrongly against the wrong wall or section.

7) Some of the Round 10 sections where you get extracted need more places to hide behind for cover. If you are in a group of 4 people there isn't enough room for 4 people to stay in cover from.

8) I would say 25% of the time when standing above a person to revive them it doesn't do anything. I set there hitting the A button, and nothing happens. I have died countless times because I was trying to revive someone and it wasn't doing anything.

9) Weapons screen is confusing and you can't get out of a weapon unless you select it off (0/1). You should be able to just back out of it, resetting it back to zero on it's own. Also, why limit it to only 2 guns? I dont like that either.

Positives:

1) Sniper Rifle is awesome and very fun to use, I just want one with more than one round in the chamber.

2) Character customization is nice, but could use a bit more.

3) Maps are laid out well enough.

Excellent implementation of MP .. i'm really enjoying the experience ... here are some pros and cons regarding the experience ^_^

Pros
-Love how the races were handled, love how each race has different skills and even moves differently (even within the same class), controlling an Asari Adept feels so different from controlling a human one.

-Really love the varied objectives mixed with the waves/horde mode gemeplay ... just hope there will be more objective types in the final game (or through updates/DLC)

-The Leveling system (along with rewards system for assists, headshots, .. etc) are excellent .. i'm also from the group that really loved the random packages/items system .. it makes for some interesting surprises .. so far i have unlocked Asari and Salarian .. it makes you feel unique (and lucky) when you are using a race/class combination that not everyone has (Asari Adept FTW)

-Love the customization options for the characters, wish they could have been more options (switchable armor parts and such like in SP .. but no problem).

-Map design is really great .. love how each one of the two maps revealed so far feel very different in atmosphere and design .. hope the rest of the maps are equally this good (and hope there is at least 10-12 maps)

Cons
-Having to run to the Ammo-boxes every time a wave is over .. ammo should be restored upon completion of waves, also .. i'm on the fence regarding the whole ammo-box thing .. i think enemies should drop ammo as well (just few rounds) and the boxes should just be there for emergency cases .. ammo drops makes killing an enemy feel more rewarding and keeps the player focused on the action longer.

-Revival key being the same as movement key (in my case on PS3 [X] button) .. in case it is hard to move it to another key (or make that specific function possible to add to any button + its original function) then i think revival method should change into a more automated affair .. you just stand near your downed teammate for few seconds an the revive meter fills automatically as long as you are close to them .. i think that will remove a lot of the frustration the comes from rolling or sticking to cover while trying to revive a teammate who died in an awkward spot getting yourself killed in the process XD

-Ok .. this might sound weird .. but i'm spoiled by BF3 mark/spot function .. if it is added in ME3 MP it would be great .. marking a certain dangerous foe (you can only mark one) allows for more tactical co-ordination (since proper co-ordination is hard to do sometimes with voice chat due to all the sound effects, multiple people chatting XD) .. example .. Nemesis sniper appears in a balcony and starts shooting at team .. instead of me tryign to shout over and over that there is a Nemisis up there (of course they will look the moment she hides behind cover so no-one sees her) if i can simply mark her for my team so they can see her clearly (kinda like how last enemy in a wave is marked for everyone to hunt) .. then my Adept teammate will notice her location .. stasis her .. and the Infiltrator on our team takes her out with a single haedshot .. that's teamwork made easier and more functional.

That's all .. keep it up and i can't wait for the final game ^_^

I didn't know Phantoms attack from a distance .. they rarely do when i fought them, all they do is run around, use stealth, close in and start slicing with swords .. i never actually saw them use long range weapon or long range biotics.

And Stasis isn't really that overpowered, it is just a different form of Cryo Blast .. Cryo Blast can even be more effective in certain situations (when both are maxed that is).

JiGsAw2453 wrote...

10 Waves per difficulty ... so far there is no unlimited waves mode .. maybe (or rather "i hope") there will be one in final game.

My Vanguard wants to have a word with you .. Shotguns are just fine ... just mod them (i modded mine with +40% accuracy mod that focuses the pellets for max damage to single target .. it is a killer in pointblank).
