Just off the top of my head:

Pro's:
-Gameplay is nice, unforgiving, rewarding skill, thinking and teamplay. If you're running around like a headless chicken you'll get whacked even on Bronze, with a nice team Silver is simple and Gold doable.
-Lack of chat :D Seriously, I haven't heard a single raging noob since the demo's launch! Wonderful!
-Lots of races, classes and builds.
-Note: Game is just great, Cons are really tiny.

Cons:
-Technical problems already mentioned (lobby disconnects, stuck on "loading" etc.)
-Lobby problems (Host has quit cuz ur a lvl1 noob).
-Unlock system that reminds me of WoW raiding...I just dont like WoW I guess :P Not that bad or game breaking though, since you don't really need the stuff in unlocks to complete even gold missions.
-Gets repetitive quickly - although I see MP only as an addition, so that's OK :)
-Vanguards :P Steal all the kills, get their teams points, yet aren't much good without support. Fun to play though :)
-Cover system, and player animations related to it. I've oftem misclicked cover instead of reviving a teammate, or hid behind the wrong wall. Animations feel sluggish, jumping over a low wall takes 3x the time you need to pass around it. Also often while running characters tend to hide behind cover even if you don't want them to. In SP this was all good, but in fast furious MP it just doesn't cut it.

I am thoroughly enjoying the multiplayer save for a few aspects.
1) id like to be able to see what menus people are in when they are not in "ready". I don't care cause im patient but so many times folks will just quit a team if someone appears to be idle.
2) remove the ability for a downed player to quit in the middle of a match. So many times i'm left by myself after wave 2 or 3 because people don't want to wait to respawn.
3) if the "host" quits, keep the game going. See number 2.
4) i like the waves (and realize its just a demo), but i'd like to see more variety in the wave pattern (types of enemies, missions, etc). It's good to gauge your progress but after a while i want some surprises!

Having said that, i do love how you unlock equipment and characters. The random aspect keeps it interesting and extends playability. I think the stage design is great, and cant wait to see what others come with the release. I enjoy the amount of ammo, but having said that, with so many refill stashes, it kind of makes the extra thermal clip (the left dpad) equipment kind of null. I used it once in the first 5 games and since then, havent touched them.

Over all, i think its really solid (although twice when i started, i couldnt walk, only dodge... until the 1st wave started, then i could move normally) demo and am really excited for the full release. Most of my issues with it were no parameters that prevents people from just up and abandoning (aside from loss of xp and credits... unless the person is the host in which case we all have to suffer the loss).

Regarding the lobby:
Now voice in lobby can alleviate this, as well as indicators of where players are in the lobby (doing weapon load out for example) and worse to worse allow a timer countdown to boot a player.

There is already voice chat in lobby .. i'm not sure how you didn't notice this !!?

As for the suggestion of showing what the player is doing in the lobby  (buying stuff, customizing weapons, editing character, .. etc) i wholeheartedly agree and support this addition.

I've really like the demo so far, playing with friends makes the multiplayer a lot better. The gameplay is really well done and the weapon loadout is also very good. The only thigs that bother me are that you cant take your friends with you to join a game so we have to create it and hope that someone joins your game to have a full group. The other thing that I think needs addressing are the character customization to me it seems stupid that I cannot completely customize my character because I need to get the character customization option in the shop which is random, if I have the character unlocked why not let me customize everything since the start. Also the issue in which you unlock races, at first I thought that they would unlock by leveling the class but then soon figured that it was randomly in the shop. This made it little frustrating because when I started playing my friend unlocked the salarian infiltrator right off the bat with the starter pack and has since unlocked almost every race while I have played almost the same lenght of time as him and have only unlocked the Quarian engineer. I guess what im saying is that I would like to see that the stuff you buy is not random cause the same thing has happened to me with the weapon mods. I've yet to unlock a mod for the heavy pistol beside the scope, so in turn I dont use it. But overall my experience with the game itself has been really good. So I hope they at least fix how one unlocks races cause lets face it one of the things that really exited me about the mass effect multiplayer was that I could finally use some alien races not just humans.

I thought the demo was amazing, I love the multiplayer to bits, but as this is a feedback forum, I'll talk about the not so good stuff
- Turrets are very OP when you're out in the open with no cover

- As loads of people have said, change the heal button from A to something like X so its less frustrating

- Having some trouble timing a double tap A vault when running from some dudes (When I get it its awesome)

- The Phantoms are kinda OP unless you're a Salarian infliltrator (The BEST!) with shield stealy thing

- I think the difficulty should be scaled down depending on how many people are playing (again, I know a lot of people have said this, just reinforcing here). Its possible with two people, but REEALY hard, even on bronze

- There was this wierd thing once (not sure if it was a glitch or not) I was playing as a salarian infiltrator and -after pressing B from cover i kept doing a 360 melee each time I pressed it. It was awesome and I havent managed to do it again, but just thought I'd note it

- And the lucky dip bag thing hasn't worked out so well for me, the best thing I got was with the starter pack and I g ot the Salarian Infiltrator and never looked back :D

I agree that the turrets can be a real pain, however that makes it more fun and better to take down the engineers before they plant the turret down.

Bronze isn't that hard. I can routinely finish it now with just one other player. Got to wave 10 with a guy who never played the game before. With regulars you can do it pretty easily.

Silver can still be a pain and Gold is almost impossible unless you have a really good squad that's levelled up. But I guess that's part of the fun - over all it's balanced well, since you still need a challenge (Gold) when you have a full squad of upgraded players.

I have a concern regarding the increased emphasis of making the a button the primary action button, such as "cover, revive, movement, etc." Sometimes in the multiplayer demo it will be nearly impossible to revive my allies due to the a button constantly showing " cover" over revive. My other primary concern is the rate of sensitivity, which many people have agreed that it is too slow for the fast paced waves of an enemy, which make it near impossible to keep track of a quick enemy such as a phantom. Other than that, I am quite impressed with the multiplayer. It is spot-on better than I thought it would be.

Fantastic game, I like almost everything about it.

Oh yeah, except the fact that I've gotten over 100 veteran packages but not a single Quarian. Hoping you guys add some sort of Character Pack for 50,000, instead of leaving it to fate.

Major complaint...

Space should not have like 5 functions assigned to it, you have slew of open keys without your squad members from s-play

Grumbles at the 80th time he goes to revive a squad mate but decides to hug wall instead, let's just make revive E E isn't being used

anyway

I know why the shop is the way it is, but it makes things rather difficult for people who don't want to slog through building the money for -Hopefully- decent weapons on classes that really could use some umf to make up for low level powers Adepts are at a serious disadvantage till they get a few powers mastered unless you get lucky and get a good pistol or SMG

Wish the Armor mods were back as perm so, classes could get alittle more health and shielding bonuses

Enemies I like that they don't stupidly walk into powers now or atleast try to dodge... hate the fact that even the low level grunts can soak up a few smg rounds in the chest and act like nothins happened. That and they figit like made.
Maybe it's just me but is the aiming more... Hair thin, I feel like i shooting needles not bullets

Understands why certain powers have been nerfed for m-play, can't singularity our way to victory here

Vanguards are pretty devasting with the charge nova combo, along with a good shotgun.

Probably been said because this thing is 46 pages deep, but:

- Text chat really needs to be implemented. I get that it's a demo, but it almost feels like a beta test and sometimes it would be really nice to talk to other players about what is happening, especially if a bug is happening. Really, really hope its in the full version or it will be a game breaking factor.

- Stats about the match, not just the players scores when you hit escape. After a match where you get the awards and stuff the game should be broken down into number of kills, assists, best weapon, accuracy, etc.

- Anyone else feel the hit recognition with the Viper is off? I have definitely plugged a round dead center mass on an enemy, staggered them, but the damage doesn't register. Gun overall feels like too many rounds that are clear hits don't count. Maybe it's a latency thing.

- Hitting Phantoms seems very shady as well. I like their challenge and the sense of doom you occasionally feel when you peek a corner and there is one right there, but it feels like my shots and powers just don't hit them half the time.

- Claymore: LOL what a beast

Couple of bugs I've experienced so far:

- On Noveria, cleared all visible enemies but the round didn't finish. Searched the entire map, couldn't find them. I was a Quarian Engineer so I noticed my drone kept firing into a wall, so I followed the direction of fire laying new drones as I went. Turned out 2 enemies that land on the ledge where you start / get extricated were still down on the ground just below the ledge and wouldn't come up (you can't really see the ledge and definitely can't shoot at it properly). I managed to toss a drone after a few tries down there and it shot them and forced them to move around so we could kill them, the round then finished.

- Also possibly a latency issue, but I'm thinking not. At one point in a match my powers would still hit enemies but not do anything, nor could I damage them. I also couldn't take damage. It's not like when you lag / get disconnected though and the enemies just run into walls and everything stops. The enemies would still react to me and attack me but nothing would happen. The round was still going on and my squad was moving and fighting successfully. I ultimately ended up just standing in front of enemies and distracting them while they focused on me and my squad shredded them apart. Eventually I realized AOE attacks (like when an Atlas stomps the ground, or if he fires a rocket into the wall behind me) can damage me, died, and when revived everything was back to normal and I could fight / be hit normally.

It seems like people new to ME enjoy the MP more than the old timers, generally.

I'd say this is what EA wanted.

a self serving statement based on nothing but your own perception.  Could be true, but from nothing but my own perception everyone likes the MP not just people that have never played ME.

Just a question, the demo we have isn't the finished product, is it? BioWare can still go back and fix all the stuff that we're talking aboot?

I keep having to wait 3-4 minutes almost every time I get in a four player group because someone always forgets to hit the ready button. I have no idea why that's even there, it seems overly repetitive, just replace it with a 15-30 second timer.

-The utterly random nature of literally everything in the card pack system is extremely annoying and needs to be overhauled. I've bought literally dozens of recruit and a number of veteran packs and have not been able to unlock the Krogan Soldier, Asari Adept, or Human Male Vanguard, which are the three classes I want to play most. On the other hand, I just unlocked the Human Male Adept 3 times in 10 seconds. This is unacceptable. There absolutely needs to be a method of gaining some form of control over what characters you unlock. It's ridiculous that I've spent as much time as I have and haven't unlocked a single character I want to play.

-The Phantom is a ridiculously overpowered enemy. High health, high mobility, invisibility, and extremely high damage all rolled into a single unit is too much. Take a lesson from the Atlas, which has extremely high health and damage, but is essentially immobile. There has to be some kind of drawback somewhere in the enemy's design.

-The overall interaction with the environment is clumsy too often. Half the time you go to a downed opponent and press A, you stick to a wall for no apparent reason. Often, you also randomly jump into cover when trying to sprint, or go from cover to cover when trying to go from cover into a sprint. Obviously it's not possible for these issues to be entirely eliminated, but the same control system works much more smoothly in Gears of War.

-Loading screens everywhere. I don't see the need for this. I've been playing other XBL games like Halo and Gears for years now and they all had smooth lobby systems that let you transition from party to party without getting a load screen all the time.

That being said, I think there's a lot to like here, and a lot of potential moving foward. The two maps are pretty well designed, the different enemy combinations provide for some challenging situations, and most of the powers are pretty good. Teamwork is rewarded, lone wolfing it is punished.

But seriously, I'll reiterate. Change the random nature of unlocks. Change it, change it, change it, change it. It's frustrating and bad.

I think like other people have said, there needs to be some changes made to the unlock system. While it is nice to unlock things and get new upgrades, we should be at the very least able to choose the gender we want to play as instead of having to pick either a class we dont want to play as or a gender we dont want to play as. With the exception of the Asari, i think we should be able to choose what gender we want and gender should not be an unlockable option. Like for example we should just unlock a human sentinel rather than a female or male human sentinel. I know this lowers the number of unlockable things there are, but really i am sure we all know that adding gender as an unlockable is just a way to fill it and make it seem like there are more options.

Text chat in lobby at the least would be really great, and in game too. Also would be really useful if the time between waves was longer, or at least if there was an option to pause it between waves so that the team could have a chance to discuss strategy. This would greatly help new players, and while i know that voice would work just as well, some people dont have mics.

Oh back to the topic of the unlocks, to give more options to the store rather than just the starter pack and the two usual packs, you could add in specific unlocks that cost a bit less than the packs, but more than what the average cost of an item in the pack would be. Like i think there are 5 items in each pack? At 5000 credits each for the basic one that would be an average of 1000 credits per item. So say if a specific unlock was 2000 credits then it would cost more than if you got it from a pack but less than the cost of the pack because you only got one item. This could allow people to pick what they want to unlock, or still use the random. It would be especially useful for when you just cant get a certain unlock from the random and get everything but.

Of course that would only really be for the characters themselves, for weapons i would say that if you put them in as specific unlocks then you should make them more expensive than the packs because say you get a weapon from the basic pack which costs 5000, say it took you 5 tries to get that weapon. That would be 25000 credits, so even if the weapon costs 10000 it would still be cheaper than buying the 5 packs but more expensive than if you got lucky and got it from one pack.

Oh also, one way to extend the "life" of the packs in the store would be to have unlocks be available only to the character that they were gotten on, if thats not how it is already. So if you unlock a weapon using a Human Vanguard then you dont have that same weapon on a Turian Sentinel. Now i know that some people may not like that, but think about it for a second. It would make it more realistic since if one person buys a weapon from a store it doesnt mean that all the others have the same weapon.

The easiest way to fix it, would be to make it one time deals, IE you max a level on a class no more of that class training shows up

You get a weapon mod at level three, one and two and three now longer show up.

The problem is that would lead to a finite number of times you'd have to buy packs - granted that might not be a bad thing- or some times you just get the powerups and nothing special

First than first sorry for my not perfect english guys. I hope that you will read and understand my opinion about the demo anyway..
Since I downloaded the demo I've played it like every day..I am lv 104 and I found this multiplayer
very interesting in all ways..

What I like:

No lag problems
Maps are very interesting and immersive..(reminds me the old missions of ME and ME2.. :') ).
Game chat is ok, no difficultys to speak with team mates.
All races and classes are pretty balanced, so the player is not compelled to choose the race-class that is best than others but the one that he likes straight from singleplayer experience..
The time that the team takes to complete a mission is about 20-25 minutes on bronze and silver difficulty. A perfect time for a play, and people will not get boring..

What I dislike:

The random package system. I've played for hours and took a lot of credits for veteran package but I didn't find nothing really considerable like races or customizzation..just updates for weapons that I don't use and things like that..
I think that the best way is to fix that..leaving the random packages as well, but give the possibility to "buy" a race, a weapon and customizzation for more credits..(example: Race - 100.000 credits, Weapon - 75.000 credits, Character Customizzation - 50.000 credits)
Enrich the multyplayer with more races and customizzation, give the way to choose a geth, or batarian, (vorcha and maybe a volus, I know that is a slow race but maybe can run fast like other races using a jetpack or something like that?why not.. ;) ) in the future by some dlc or update..
Same thing for customizzation..for example, when I use a human is ok because he has the armor that covers all his body and face so I can select a color for it, but when I use a drell, and my team mate uses drell as well there is not difference between them..same thing for krogans, asari, turians and salarians..they are looking the same like gemini, maybe if you give the way to choose the skin type and color with armor color as well since the race is unlocked it will be a small but very significant thing, I'm not the only one that likes a fully 100% customizzation.. :)
Like for armor, I'll like the way to customize my weapons color..is not so important to say but anyway it will be great to have this possibility..
I didn't found so important to choose a male o female human because they have the same stats and abilitys..But I don't know why you didn't gave the way to choose a quarian male but only female for example..
I think that customizzation will be better if a player choose a simple human and then using customizzation he can choose a male or a female..same thing for all races where it's possible..
The heal button is A,the same for run, jump, cover and activate..in my opinion is not the best button for healing because it happened for a lot of times that my character ran or jumped when i was trying to heal a team mate..maybe should be fixed for a other button..like X..
Cover sistem is not so perfect, sometimes my character jumps when I try to let him cover..

I think that there is nothing else that should be fixed in the multyplayer..I really like Mass Effect since it cames with first episode, honestly I did'nt believe in multyplayer becuse I thought it wasn't that type of game that needs it, but I changed my idea since I've try it out, beautyful.. :)

Great work for all Bioware Team.

Apart from disconnects and some bugs I find one thing saddening in the balance:

Melee rewards... you get the gold medal for 15 kills, I understand that not too many people do this, and it might seem like something ridiculous to do, but you can spec a character for melee only and be quite successful on the battlefield.

I'm playing a Krogan soldier right now, and the only situations I use my shotgun (for reasons other than the melee bonus from mods) is when I have to direct face a Guardian, when in rage I kill the regular troopers with one light melee and pretty much every other type of infantry with one heavy (Centurions, Engineers and Phantoms take one heavy followed by a light hit)... I can faceroll turrets and after the shields are down I charge Atlases.

Basically I can round up 50 to 70 melee kills per round and getting nothing for it makes me sad. I mean, hearing a Krogan laugh every time I destroy someone and laugh even harder every time he gets into rage is a reward in itself... but still, I say it should be rewarded just like the weapon medals.

I noticed when cloaking (I play Infiltrator) the enemies will slide (sometimes a great distance!) into cover, without a walking animation. They crouch, and sliiiiiiide behind something. Happens in SP too.

Is this a known issue (which is probably already fixed?)

This is on the 360.

For me it would be just perfect - you buy a pack, you get a class specific booster with weapons, customization and such things and you can choose to open it and take the booty or throw it up for trade on some sort of market.
