Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Demo feedback. What did you think?

Most of the problems I encountered were caused by hosts leaving, etc.
What is required, imho is an option to escape the "communicating..."/"loadin" screens that get shown when searching for games or when joining.
The game has a tendency to get stuck there (I assume because the host went offline or something like it), but there is no way to escape out of it, forcing me to kill the process (this is on PC, by the way).

Please - please - please, do the PvP multiplayer mod, and CTF, and TDM, and DM and so - and so.
Not so hard to invent a suitable reason `why does one group of intelligent life-form fight another` in a postapocalyptic world.
It's not often - when I buy games, but I WILL preorder ME3 in upcoming few days. And i designed to do so after i played multiplayer.
Hope my post will not go unnoticed by BioWare.
Sorry for English.

The only real issue i got is frequent hang ups at loading screens before getting to a lobby or into a match. (playing on pc)
There are some minor stuff like not being able to reassign the quick bars items order, so that the similar powers get to the same key. (if playing different classes one can hit inappropriate power for a situation)
Otherwise, im totally loving it! It is so much better than i ever hoped it will be!
Oh and for the complaints with random loot: You could put in some crates which would give a random _new_ species for like 20K. So ppl who really like to have x race playable could get there quicker. And perhaps a separate box for only weapons related stuff like upgrades, ammo stuff and new weapons.
This way, if you want to get more bang for the buck, you go for the veteran pack, but if you have something specific in mind you can increase the chance of getting it by buying the appropriate box.

I'm almost positive they'll be resetting everything again when the game is released as that wouldn't really be fair to folks that didn't play the demo. Priest can likely confirm.
Fair or unfair? It's entirely coop. I don't think anyone will be complaining they got a strong, experienced team member.
As far as what I thought about the multiplayer? It's pretty good when it's not CTDing or telling me I've been disconnected from the server, and communications are almost nonexistant. I'd also prefer some extra mission types. Escort is an easy one to think up, but that'd be something new players would be clueless about, so it should be a silver or gold mission type exclusively. There could also be recovery missions, or missions where you have to have squad members be in two places at the same time. Stuff like that could add a *little* extra spice. But it's pretty fun.

Some very minor issues:
- Leaving and starting a new match finding is faster than staying ans waiting for the lobby to refill. That seems strange.
- Sometimes (5%) connection is lost or loading takes unusal long (~5 minutes).
- More individual character design features (armor, especially helmets and shoulders) would be appreciated.
- Character Name instead of the account nick would be more rp-ish. Maybe add an option for that?
- Finally found a good team, and then they are gone; we need a friends-list!
- We need to be able to re-distribute powers!
- Leveling seems to be too fast for having only 20 levels.
- The equipment is too rare to really use it on most rounds. Get a noob group and you just waisted your rare speed or cooldown-booster.
- The three-function-button is an annoyance, mainly because when you want to sprint you roll and vice versa, or you suddenly land on a nearby cover - mostly facing the wrong way and getting shot in the back. Yeah, happend soooo often to me already -.-
- Gold matches seem only to be difficult because of insanely high life on the mobs. That is boring. How about some added difficulty e.g. by removing ammunition refills? Then finally those ammo pack equipment would make some sense.

The game should have several leaderboards like "most kills", "most assists" etc.

-There is a lobby instability problem as 75% of the time one player gets kicked upon the countdown starting.
- Once I got stuck in a wave where there was no enemies.
-Turrets for quarian engineers even fully upgraded, are still under powered and don't do much compared to the vanguards godly biotic charge.
- I would like to be able to matchmake with friends for other random players. As of now i end up playing private matches with only 2 players.

I would also love to see this for Non-Human Races as well, although it would be trickier because the pieces for their models aren't as interchangeable. Instead, I would love to see maybe full body-swaps for the alien armor models as customization choices. For example, the Turians could have the default Armor Option (Based off of ME3 Garrus, I assume?), variant armor styles from ME1 (updated graphically, of course) or even palettes based off of Saren or Nihlus. Maybe you could have a changeable "Headwear" option for Turians that toggled combat helmets, or Garrus' Visor (whose color could change on what color your "Lights" were set to).
Krogan could follow the same principle. Default ME3 Armor, Default Armor w/Helmet, possibly a Grunt-Style Armor, Grunt-Style Armor w/Helmet, ME1-Style Heavy Armor model (with a helmet option, as well). Perhaps you could even do an entire swap of their exposed Head; so that you could use Grunt's facial model instead of Wrex's if you so desired.
Asari have a variety of options, too. The Default "Leather-Style" Armor, or Liara's ME2-3 Armor Design with the little Half-Caped Jacket. Also, in ME2 a few rare Asari models used an armor that was specific to that race, which had a unsymmetrical shoulder pad and what appeared to be Heatsinks bound to their biceps (Captain Wasea from Samara's first Mission is one that I know wore it for sure) that I wouldn't mind seeing or being able to use. Having Samara's Justiciar jumpsuit would also be a welcome option.
Salarians could utilize the default models, as well as Mordin's jacket with the wrap-around metal collar, as well as his custom helmet/breathing apparatus. There are also those versions of Salarians who wear helmets (the STG forces on Virmire in ME1 wore these, I believe).
Drell and Quarians are the only two races in this department that come up short. We've only ever seen on actual armor model for Drell (which is Thane's coat), and all Quarian armor look the same aside from coloration differences. Still, even adding Thane's optional Hood would be cool. I'm okay with the Quarian armor being pretty uniform, seeing as it seems to be an almost racial or ethnic practice to keep them so similar.

Having said that, there are a few things that I think could/should be improved. One, the lobby system/matchmaking, I was playing at my apartment with my friend, each on our own xbox and were trying to play in the same game but was more difficult than it should be. If we started a game, nobody would ever join (was set to public) and the only way we could do it was to have one of us do quick match and hope there is room to invite the second person and quick enough before someone else joins. I think joining quick match as a party would alleviate that problem.
Another thing is certain aspects of combat seem buggy from time to time, some times I can be shooting an enemy square on with my pistol and the first bubble of their health flickering with each hit but no matter how many shots their health wont budge, or throwing warp and it either hitting them and doing nothing or passing straight through the enemy.
I am not sure of why but when I was playing a Turian Sentinel, there was no roll or similar action. That was very frustrating, I am not sure if that is by design or not. But if not, please add in a roll or similar mechanic for all class/race combos.

No serious comments on the bugs, as it is indeed
an early release demo. I think there was a bit of frustration
encountered by many due to 1 or even 0 ability action
bars, and the disconnects that led people to believe
that some were dropping group on purpose.
The difficulty level seemed perfect. I had no
problems, and quite some challenge completing
bronze campaigns with groups of level 1-3s Less
difficulty in groups with a few higher level players.
Very different experiences, equally good.
I managed to complete 2 silver campaigns in groups
where we had 1-2 experienced players level 16-20.
One of those groups even included a level 3. These
games were intense, but very much possible for
pugs that understood the level.
As for the rewards, in my opinion they were awesome!
The sprinkling of character rewards seemed good to me.
Sure, they were a bit rare. But that made encountering
one in game more exciting. Not to mention actually getting
one. I have this great looking krogan soldier bonus, but can't
seem to get around to playing it because...
The asari adept! Just wow. The sounds, visuals, and team
play presented by a stasis/throw/"pistol only" asari adept is
way, way too much fun. In strong shooter groups, I'm pretty
sure they love having that kind of adept around. The super
fast chained throws can slow and throw the enemy into
disarray. Allowing your team to set up great aoes. And
fully evolved stasis is every bit as good, and often better.
Especially in groups with lots of "headshot" chasers.
As good as the asari was, the other classes I managed
to try for the demo were every bit as useful, and fun to play.

Discovered a bug where my character could not walk or run but I could roll. Lasted for the first 2 minutes of opening round. Another bug was when I was unloading a shotgun into a Cerberus engineer setting up a turret and he took no damage.
Rewards should emphasize teamwork. Kill and assists should enjoy equal reward and reviving team members should be highly rewarded as well. Some players go out of their way to rack up as many solo kills as they can, to get the highest rewards, leaving the rest of the squad vulnerable.
In the brief controller layout overview you see the use of the D-Pad to issue commands and yet it doesn't seem to work in game. Characters yell stuff out but there is no "Regroup," or "Fall Back," etc. commands that I can hear or utilize. I'd like to see the ability to place locational target markers so team leaders can assign positions or other players can mark the immediate infiltration points or targets.
Finally, it would be nice if the maps were a little more dynamic. Objects could be moved and perhaps some weather or time of day thrown in like rain and night operations.

1) When spawning in a game, on some occasions the player will be unable to move conventionally, can still roll and enter cover, and once leaving cover will return to normal (will render Krogans and Turians immobile for the first few minutes, as they cannot roll into any cover to escape the bug)
2)Grenades appear to refill completely randomly, in some cases restoring none, others, refilling 1-3 (tested multiple times, appears not to be a grenade limit for each wave)
3)If downed and the player immediately uses a Medi-gel, they will spend it, but not be revived, despite recieving messages to say that you can use medi-gel to revive yourself
4)On occasion, while firing/aiming out of cover, player will enter hipfire mode and in some cases will zoom in with scope onto players back
5)When joining a match the player may see slots filled by unnamed people at level 0, followed by recieving a game crash that requires complete reset.
6)If a match is left while downed, on occasion, in the next match, most general sound will be blurred as it is when downed.
Some of the points I find a little dodgy:
1)Turians are unable to barrel roll to evade oncoming fire, yet will still do a front roll if moving into an adjacent piece of cover (can't do it for lore reasons, yet can do it when it's least needed)
2)Grenades are useless on difficulties silver and gold, damage is too low that throwing three at once is required for any target
3) Concussive shot is incredibly weak, dealing not only little damage, but barely even pushing targets when at high levels
4) Warp is incredibly weak against armor and barriers and yet overload is seemingly effective against shields, barriers and armor.
5) Revenant could do with a recoil buff (realistically, weight lowers the effects of kickback from a weapon, and this thing weighs a ton and yet has so much recoil and deals so little damage)
6) Phantoms are a little too resistant to staggering from conventional objects and should not be able to insta-kill teammates who have just been revived (I was instakilled a few before I even recieved the ability to move again)
7) Atlas conventional fire needs more lighting/sound effects, its too difficult to tell whats hitting you (and I'm using an audio headset on high volume)
That's pretty much it, other than that, no male quarians (or male quarian soldiers) and no turian/drell infiltrator are what bother me.

1. The ability to purchase specific things for A LOT of credits. I think even if you made it 100,000 credits to unlock a race option, some people would do that simply because they can see what they are in for. "I'll have that unlocked in a week" as opposed to "I may get it in a month, or a week, or who the heck knows..." You have made a game that has cross genre appeal. It is slightly silly to then pigeon hole progression to cater solely to the type of people that will camp a super rare spawn in an MMO for the 5% chance he will drop some weapon that will increase your DPS by 1.3%...Just saying.
2. Leave in the current system for the people that like the randomness obviously. No sense in taking away something that has appeal so some of your players. The random packs have the added benefit of getting multiple items in one purchase vs. one specific thing for a lot more money.
3. Perhaps add in performance bonus rewards at the end of completing a mission (based on time bonus or crossing a certain XP threshold or something). This would add to that excitement people get over random things, while giving the added bonus of promoting team work to just do better.
Just a few thoughts. I haven't spent this much time with a demo in EVER, so you obviously have a great product on your hands. I've actually been encouraging my friends to DL it (something else I NEVER do). I cannot wait until the midnight release March 6th. The fact that the multiplayer aspect is actually competition for the single player is a shocker to me. The multi-play dev team is to be commended.

Asari's Dodge.
Asari's have a neat "biotic" dodge system but why does it eat out of their Shields? Please I think that should be scrapped. It's bad dodging out of fire only to lose all your shields and start losing health. You could put a limit on the amount of time "dodge" can be used with say after 5 times in a row the character goes into a dizzy animation.
Asari Vanguard.
Unlocks.
Pretty much what has been said by everyone. It's a nice idea but implement a system where you don't unlock what you already have. And maybe have a another box that costs say 30,000 credits with a guaranteed race unlock or something. Once all races are unlocked then that box becomes greyed out or something.
Other than that. Great work guys. really good work. I know we complain alot but you have really outdone yourselves.
Thanks for a great game.
EDIT: Having leveled up Stasis I would say it's a neat addon. Not sure what lift grenades are but they sound cool. So Stasis for the Asari Vanguard can stay. But please no shield drain from dodge, really defeats the point of dodging.

If I had to boil what I loved about it down to one word it would be "flexibility". 6 classes, 4 characters, appearance customization (thank you so much!), power selection and upgrades with branching trees, weapon customization, weapon loadout customization, etc. etc. etc.
There were a few times my head exploded yesterday:
1) Setting up my first character and catching a glimpse of the depth of the systems.
2) Realizing I could take an assault rifle as a sidearm for my infiltrator in exchange for slower power cooldowns. (I stuck with a heavy pistol to mitigate the penalty, but what an awesome choice that was to make!)
3) Getting in game for the first time and experiencing the new combat system. Wow, that feels good.
4) Pulling headshot after headshot with my mantis because there was almost no lag at all during gameplay.
5) One shotting a cerberus guard through their shield's view port. What a great reward for spot on aim!
6) Watching the lone remaining squad mate take on the whole wave via spectator mode only to be revived for the next wave after his epic win. Bravo Bioware! Later this made being the only one alive even more exciting because I knew I could bring them back if I could just hold on. Plus, everyone just saw me pull off that point blank headshot through the shield.
The list of negative experiences is much shorter and less important to me:
1) I can't seem to get text chat to work. (Maybe I'm doing something wrong)
2) I've yet to have anyone join my game after I've created it, and trying to join a quick match will fail 3 times out of 4 within 10 seconds. (Again, perhaps I'm doing something wrong)
I'd just like to add that I'm quite positive on the "store" system. I think it's a fun way to get nice "surprises". Also, when playing games such as Battlefield 2 and 2142, I would run up the unlock trees very quickly and from then on out the progression aspect of the game stagnated for me. I think this will provide a nice and long lasting additional progression system that provides fun bonuses for my main character while also tempting me to try out other styles.
I knew I was going to love Mass Effect 3. The first game knocked Deus Ex off the top of my list. It's my favorite series of all time. The multiplayer wasn't even on my radar until the special forces trailer smacked me in the face. Now that I've played it, I couldn't be more excited. Bravo Bioware! Bravo!

Pros
- great pacing wave to wave
- so far good balancing as far as powers, upgrades, weapons
-I can finally play as a drell - Ive dreamer about this scenario
-game runs smooth and virtually lag free
- its a lot of fun to play
Cons
- I don't like character unlock system and how you randomly obtain cards. Id prefer if it was class based and you unlocked the various character based on your level.
- this may be a mater of only two playable male being available but a couple of larger maps would be great.
I cant think of any other cons at the moment. Thank you so much bioware the coop is a joy to play.

Also hope for a wide variety of enemies, Geth, Reapers, Rachni, Collectors, Mercs.
Different gamemodes: fight thru the map with different objectives and then boss fight. Or hostage rescue. More gamemodes than just survival.
Iconic maps: Noveria, Citadel, Earth (London, Vancouver), Ilos, Tuchanka, Omega etc
