Great job on the multiplayer bioware!! I just beat gold, now I can finally put this demo away.
More than a few notes-
Some of these may not apply just to multiplayer, but I'll put them here anyway.
1. Krogan and Turian mobility. Because the krogan and turian can not roll, they are severely hindered. They just don't translate well to higher difficulties because they have little ability to get out of sticky situations quickly. i don't care how you rationalize it, faster storm is not an answer.
2. The krogan soldier, a class that relies heavily on melee for both survivability and damage, has the worst attack animation in the game. Krogan should melee just like other classes. A missed power melee (which is frequent if you aren't careful) can often get you killed because the animation can put you so out of position, with no roll to recover.
3. A group that is well-planned, well-coordinated, and well-equipped can easily beat gold. Maybe a higher difficulty in final version?
4. I love stasis, but I have to rip on its imbalance. When stasis breaks, the target shouldn't fall haplessly to the ground as if it was stunned, but rather resume its action. Treat it like a time stop, not a stun (barring stuns that hit the target while its in stasis, of course).
5. A better in-game explanation of tech blasts and biotic explosions would be nice. Took me a long time to figure out their mechanics on my lonesome. These combos make big plays at higher levels, and I think players should be made aware of exactly how they work. Maybe stick them in tooltips somewhere? I don't know, this one is hard.
6. Combat drones and sentry turrets are just so, well, meh. I wish they lent themselves to a little bit more "active" playstyle. I don't know what I'm trying to say here. I guess they are just boring, really. You just kind of throw a turret or combat drone out there and hope it does something, and at higher difficulties, its more of a distraction for enemies than a threat. Perhaps working as intended? If so, I'm falling asleep now.
7. While playing multiplayer, sometimes it feels like you are playing alone, simply because teammates spell effects, sounds, animations, whatever, just aren't that pronounced. I hate to mention another game here, but I think Battlefield 3 did one of the best jobs with this in recent memory. When you are in a foxhole with someone, the sound of their gun is blistering, and it actually feels like you are playing alongside someone. This applies to enemies as well. Mass Effect 3, not so much.
8. Give us a radar to put in armor equipment slot.
9. Don't let the overwhelming hate of the random upgrade system on this forum dissuade you, Bioware. It is fresh, it keeps you working (work is a terrible word to use) and encourages experimentation with skills, classes, weapons, and equipment. So tired of this 21st century gaming mantra of giving me what I want, when I want it. Bring back the 90's!
Don't let my feedback lead you to believe that i don't think that this is an excellent game. The multiplayer component is right at home here, the pace is perfect, and it is rife with drama. A few tweaks here and there and you go from pure gold to solid platinum (sorry about strip club analogy, LOL).
Final note- GIVE ME PVP
