It was kind of ridiculous.
I didn't like that if someone staggers a guardian no other stagger will affect them until after the entire animation has completed, when stacked with the fact that these are just a 'cop out' difficult enemy fighting them isn't challenging, just annoying.
As I'm sure others have mentioned, the unlock system is just ridiculous, and feels as though multiplayer was just an afterthought.
My friend played with me and another friend for eight hours as a soldier and unlocked nothing but pistols despite buying dozens of verteran packs. We have played many games since the multiplayer went live, and he still hasn't got a mattock.
It was ridiculous that the identical male and female characters within the classes counted as separate unlocks.
The eliminate missions were not fun, the targets usually run and hide and the ridiculously small time frame you're given is barely enough for one player to make it across the map in time, let alone finish the enemy.
Phantom instant kills are stupid, I plan everything, so randomly dying every now and then when really screws up my strategy, especially if I know I have enough time to revive a squadmate and use my spec ops pack and then tech armor before I die.
But no, random death is the enemy of smart tactical thinking.
It wouldn't be so bad if it were a one hit kill if you were unshielded, you can learn to work around that, but random instant kills are silly.
Once again universal cooldowns kill gameplay, there's almost no point in using anything but throw as a sentinel unless you're facing an armored target, as the cooldown on warp is uncomfortably long when you take its minuscule effect into account.
Tech Armor is still useless, besides providing a puny amount of damage mitigation, there's no point in detonating it as all it does is make the enemies immediately adjacent to you take a step back.
And if you upgrade the damage, you still have to contend with the uncomfortably long cooldown and you will lose its only advantage if you don't capitalize on the damage mitigation.
Aliens not being able to roll is ridiculous.
Physics based powers not working on shielded enemies feels wrong sometimes, particularly singularity.
Controls are too clunky to keep up with a competent player, too often we lose the wave because I roll instead of taking cover, or cancel a sprint accidentally because I need to be over precise, or take cover when I try to revive a squadmate, or miss a melee when I have done nothing different to other connecting hits.
Besides the problems the multiplayer is really fun, I could put up with the boring and messed up gameplay, but there's really no way to justify random unlocks in a game where class, weapons and equipment matters so much.
You could play 100 hours and not get the right unlocks, simply because they are based on luck.
That's pathetic.

Oh, i also somehow managed to get on a ledge w/ biotic charge on the snowy/open map place and ended up falling down through the map, left the game so it wouldn't make a never ending game if team mates died, joined another game....it was the very same game (which i left after wave 6 so i lost the credits from it dang it

No it isn't, there is no need to overcomplicate things.

And what is the point of staggering them twice when they are already staggred .. you are supposed to be shooting them while they are staggred not staggeing them again .. this is to prevent players from cheating and locking Guardians in infinite stagger loop ... and you clealy can't recognize a challenage when you see one .. they are some of the most fun enemies to defeat .. there are already dozens of ways to knock them out (Stagger them / Shoot through the shield openings or shoot their limbs outside the shield / Pull their shields / Flank them / Throw grenade behind them / Use Engineer Bot to harass them ... etc etc) .. there is nothing anoying about them at all.
As I'm sure others have mentioned, the unlock system is just ridiculous, and feels as though multiplayer was just an afterthought.

I bought a few and i got Salarians and Asari ... it is jsut fine .. many people actually like it, it is fresh and different from teh boring linear progressino systems identical in all games these days (that completely de-value unlocks), i'd have that exciting system any day over the boring linear systems in other games.
i wish to unlock Drell, Quarians, Krogan and Turians (haven't even seen a single Turian so far in action) but i don't go whining about it .. i paly the game more .. earn more cash .. try my luck on Silve and Gold Diffculty (for extra cash) and keep hoping to get one of those classes .. not becasue it is detrimental to my enjoyment that i don't have these characters yet .. but becasue i want more options to experiment with .. however and whenever they come i'm ok with that .. this system taught me not to lock myself into a single class, race, weapon all the time.
The eliminate missions were not fun, the targets usually run and hide and the ridiculously small time frame you're given is barely enough for one player to make it across the map in time, let alone finish the enemy.
And don't know what's worng with the AI in your game but they never run anywhere .. if you mean the Nemisis .. tehy do that wether they are targets or not .. Guradians never run .. they confront you even if tehy are assassination targets ... besides .. that's the whole idea of it being a challenge XD
Phantom instant kills are stupid, I plan everything, so randomly dying every now and then when really screws up my strategy, especially if I know I have enough time to revive a squadmate and use my spec ops pack and then tech armor before I die.

Nope they aren't, they only instant kill you if you aren't paying attention to your surroundings, other than that you can easily avoid it, i'm lv.37 (the N7 rank) and i haven't been killed by their instant kill grap attack once .. if i see one i either confront her and take her out with my teammates or keep my distance until i'm ready to pummel her.
Once again universal cooldowns kill gameplay, there's almost no point in using anything but throw as a sentinel unless you're facing an armored target, as the cooldown on warp is uncomfortably long when you take its minuscule effect into account.
Want faster cooldowns don't use too many heavy weapons or use a single weapon or upgrade skills that lower wieght penlaty so that cooldown goes faster (up to 200% faster) .. i play an Adept Asari and mainly use my skills instead of my weapons .. it is just fine.
And Warp isn't minuscule in any way .. it is a great skill to cause Biotic Explosions .. and very good at removing armor (very useful when dealing with Atlas or Sentry Guns), and for other enemies (probably husks or whatever enemies we will have in the full game) it prevents healing.
Aliens not being able to roll is ridiculous.
Quite the opposite .. it is one of the best things made to diffrentiate teh races and make each feel unique .. i don't see any reason to complain about this !!!
Physics based powers not working on shielded enemies feels wrong sometimes, particularly singularity.
Nope, it is just fine .. if they worked players would be abusing them .. and that will remove a lot of challenge from thr game ... besides .. even if the physical effect doesn't work .. they damage them.
Controls are too clunky to keep up with a competent player, too often we lose the wave because I roll instead of taking cover, or cancel a sprint accidentally because I need to be over precise, or take cover when I try to revive a squadmate, or miss a melee when I have done nothing different to other connecting hits
Controls are jsut fine .. they just need a little getting used to .. the only problem is placing the revive button on the movement/cover/running button.
You could play 100 hours and not get the right unlocks, simply because they are based on luck.
That's pathetic.
Fact is .. there is no such thing as RIGHT unlocks .. the game isn't supposed to spoon feed you .. this system is great for making players experiamnet with all sorts of classes and weapons .. i and it takes a lot of time to unlock everything .. which is great.

1. Sometimes when you stasis bubble them they fall out of it even if they're dead center in it and haven't taken any damage. What's worse is that sometimes when they fall out, they get frozen in their getting up animation, and are invincible. Then, suddenly, they start attacking you even though they're still frozen on the ground. Basically, you can't shoot them because they're invisible and they instakill you from a mile away; literally, your character will be warped 20 yards away to her, and you're dead.
2. Phantoms (and all other enemies, really) being able to kill you as you revive yourself with a revival pack. Example:
I revived myself not knowing there were 2 Phantoms behind a wall near me. The second I get up they run at me and kill me in less than 2 seconds.
When you use a revival pack, you should be impervious to all damage/getting knocked back for 5 seconds.
"Oh but Cossack, that's undermining the difficulty."
Yes and no it isn't.
Yes, it would be unfair if there were no consequences, which is why I'd suggest if you shoot your gun or use ANY powers during that 5 second window, you can start taking damage again. And no, it isn't undermining the challenge. Challenge is facing down 4 Phantoms and 2 Atlases while trying to complete a "capture the intel" objective; getting killed while you're getting up from reviving yourself is fake difficulty.
Oh, and invisible turrets, but I think I mentioned that a few pages back.

But I do have some issues and suggestions.
First, Phantoms are absurdly over powered. The presence of more than one on the field pretty much guarantees that we are going to all die.
Second, engineer turrets are far too underpowered, given the threat they pose when enemies deploy them, you'ld think they'd be a bit more valuable. maybe make it so you can only have one active at a time to compensate.
It would be very nice of you to make unlocks from the demo available once the game is released.
A friend of mine really wants to play as a batarian, could you help him out there?
And for that matter there are a lot of characters we would like to play as and hope we'll see in the final release or as DLC (please don't make DLC too expensive just because you know we'll pay.)
Batarians
Male Quarians
and more variety for classes, why not a Turian Vanguard? etc...
could you make it so we could purchase specific characters with an impressive expense, maybe double the cost of the veteran packs?
that's what comes to mind

I found that I was able to play the multiplayer demo today. To my great surprise. I made a character, got the colors, picked the weapons and set the powers. I was ready to go play on my level 1 adept. Things were looking great. But you know what kills the hype for an idea like this? I understand its a demo/beta but nothing lamer than creating a match and no one joins because your level 1, and no matter what quick match I get into, I get kicked because I'm level 1. A LEVEL based search would be a great idea as I'm sure MANY people have already thought the same thing and would make sense for many reasons. Some of which include a balanced team, a fair chance for new comers, and being placed in a group with people of a similar level/skill. Please add this as it is hard to level if you can't do anything but play by yourself and get killed in the first wave on bronze. Otherwise thanks for a good single player demo and I look forward to the game itself.
I have to agree with that. I had two people leave a game as soon as I joined because I had just started up the demo. A level search would be a great addition if at all possible.

Unlocks- I'v unlocked every thing for my human soldier yet i keep unlocking the human soldier and only being given XP. I have yet to get my Quarian Engineer. My friend has it and we thought based on the image of the turret she get's it would be like that of the Cerberus. Instead, it's a puny little rinky dink flying saucer that dies in one hit.
Next are the Phantoms. I don't mind how hard they are to kill but the amount of them forced onto the player on Gold is as astounding amount. 7. 7 is the number that killed me by cloaking and killing us from behind in ONE BLOW.
Tone it down. We are all level 20's and by the time with get to wave 10 we are out of supplies.

I searched for quick match games about 60 times.
I played 1 Silver challenge for my first game (I used the default quickmatch settings), and when I died in the game, everyone said they wouldn't revive me because I shouldn't have done a Silver challenge with a level 1 character. I was stuck in Spectator Mode, so I left the game and lost my points.
I completed 1 mission successfully, and it was a lot of fun!
I played 1 mission with only 3 people, and we lost horribly. It seemed clear that you only stand a chance with 4 players.
About 25 times, I joined the lobby successfully, but someone left. Usually everyone else would leave immediately after that, but even if they didn't, I would leave, because going with 3 players didn't seem practical.
About 25 times, I was disconnected while searching and had to search again.
About 8 times, I started a mission successfully with 4 people, but was disconnected during the game. I received error messages like "The host player has left. Restarting current wave..." and "You have lost your connection to the game." Sometimes one after another. In these situations, I gained 0 credits and 0 experience.
After a while, I spent about 40 minutes just trying to start a game successfully. That was when I got a lot of games with only 3 players, or games where I was disconnected as we were starting. At that point, I stopped playing.
All told, I played for about 3 - 4 hours, completed 1 mission, unlocked 1 Starter pack and 1 Recruit pack, and got to level 7. It was fun when I got to play, but the disconnections were discouraging! Even for a demo, it seemed pretty bad. I probably won't even bother trying the full game's multiplayer.

Weapon pack (1) basic weapons (2) uprage basic weapons (3) semi rare weapons (4) upgrade semi rare weapons (5) rare weapons (6) upgrade rare weapons
Weapon Attachments (1) pistol upgrades (2) smg upgrades (3) shotgun upgrades (4) assault rifle upgrades
(5) sniper rifle upgrades (7 ETC...) and so on for upgrades on the already acuired weapon mods one for each class of weapon. and finnaly 1 pack for each type of equipment (cobra missles, medi gel, special ops pack, ammo pack. and finnaly upgrades on armor to custimize the armor.
such easy fixes they can make this a ground breaking multiplayer its already pretty dam good just needs little fixes as well as races. wont give away any spoilers but a certaian character that was leaked would be cool to have in mp as well as the other that was leaked unmasked humans and in the special forces triler that krogan made a bad ass scream while running and heavy meleeing i would like to see that put into the krogan instead of the childish one we have. unless the krogan sentinel is different? and put every race that can possibly apply to every class that works turian infiltator anybody? male quarian soldier? and the drell needs more shields of health he sucks so bad i use him when i need a laugh

For the bottom option, where it says random, you should change it to bronze. There is bronze, silver and gold and gold is pretty difficult. You maybe have been there. I started out on bronze and I don't remember being kicked out of any games. It's pretty easy too. That should give you enough experience to not scare people off at the higher difficulties.

Whenever you see a phantom moving towards you, turn the gun on yourself. It's the only way. They shoot their little palm guns at you annihilating your shields (1350 as Krogan) and down you. Now you know that your teammates are going to try and save you. So, to reduce collateral damage you would use your medi-gel, correct? Wrong.
When you self revive whilst a phantom is anywhere near you, you will stand up and quickly die as one of two things happen.
1. She insta kills you.
2. She hits you sending you stumbling into a corner to be beat on like a piñata until you've probably chucked your controller into the TV.
I hate them. Truly I do. They aren't fun and often they whipe out everyone. Every. Single. Teammate.
Reduce their finger gun damage. Just do it. They already come at you in two's or three's. Why can they kill me (again a Krogan, 1350 shields) in two seconds?

1. Gun customization? Color options? Unlocked with packs?
2. Level restriction for host
3. Pistols are OP. The Carnifex is basically a miniature sniper...
4. The falling through the map glitch, encountered it a few times.
5. Freezing, I've frozen a few times. So have a couple of my friends.
6. MORE Co-op options. Infinite mode? I'D LOVE INFINITE MODE!
7. An option to fight all types of enemies at once.
