 the first thing that came to mind for me when playing the demo MP was 
the inabillity to effectivly play as a sniper using soldierclass.

with smart enemies that get up and close really fast in overwhelming numbers
trying to utilize sniperrifles becomes a pain in the *** ( pardon my french, no pun intended to canadians LOL! )

2 things that felt overlooked is that sniping requires weaps with fast handling (reload) or "stay in zoom" (several shoots in clip) in fastpased close quarters MP to have any chanse of beeing effective.

ME1 and in many cases ME2 had statistic enemies holding there ground, and the snipergamestyle was then possible but as it in the ME3 S and MP has changes to a very much more fast pased (enemies charging) game,
the problems with longdistance rifles becomes ever so more noticable...





Problem: Sniperrifles that require reload after each shot fired does not reload automatically,
that for me was extreamly annoying, makes me push buttons way more than i should need too.
(perhaps cus im used to that function in other games i play MP in ;-) and having consistancy when switching amongst games would make ME3 MP feel less frustrating from unnecessary button mashing to reload)

sulution:  change this so they do autoload after each shoot for a smoother sniperstyle gameplay while on the move in the maps :)  OR add an item than makes sniperrifleclips hold xxx shots before reloads are required, with the possebillity to stay "IN SCOPE FOCUS" ( both changes would be prefable by me)

Also the reloadtime with sniperrifles are terrible, takes forever to reload and makes you stand there like a fool while the enemy overruns your poss....

FOV too narrow, making playing a pain (literally), and the key bindings could use a bit more love on PC, i.e. not all the actions bound to the same key. Also, need the MP files hosted server side to prevent cheating. If you could rectify that, that would be great, thank you.

Loving the MP, but I really hope the bugs we have run in to get fixed soon after the release.

Suggestions:

o) Have a separate key bind option for sprint, revive, activate, get into cover etc. By all means have them all bound to the same key by default, but let me change that. When I need to revive someone there is very little margin for error. I don't want to get in to cover when I want to revive, and I don't want to revive if I actually need to run awaaaaaaay!

o) Keep the random loot system (I like it, even though the game is trying to persuade me to play an Infiltrator..) but consider adding a simple trade option for non-consumables where, if you get something you don't want (Krogan Soldier, for example) you can select an unlock of a similar type (in this case, a class / race combo) and mark it for trade. The trade is registered on a server and if there is already a corresponding trade registered, it happens immediately. If not, it is added to a list of identical trades and they are processed sequentially as corresponding trades become available. I'd also keep it on a one-for-one basis to keep things simple.

o) Add an extra top-tier appearance unlock that allows the face to be picked from a small number of presets - and in the case of humans, have the option to remove the helmet and pick from a small number of heads.

o) Tag team melee! Highly unlikely to get added but hey, wouldn't it be nice to see a different animation if two nearby allies perform a heavy melee attack on the same guy? I really want to see a pair of Krogans clothes-line a Phantom!

o) Add a simple 'marking' system that perhaps outlines a visible enemy in yellow if an ally (e.g. anyone else but you) hit that enemy in the last three seconds. I'm not to fussed about the benefits to prevent kill stealing since I'm in the "Hey, it's a co-op game!" camp but it should help groups target more efficiently, which I guess is particularly helpful on Silver and Gold.

Bugs:

o) Not being able to activate powers. Particularly frustrating with Biotic Charge. It's ready, I have clear LoS and the targetted enemy isn't too far away. But when I want to charge, the game just beeps at me. In fact it happens so often with Nova that I didn't even realise I COULD use it after a charge.

o) Invisible Turrets. Nobody likes those. Please turn off their cloak ;)

o) Lag based glitchyness. Sort of vague, but I've had games where my pistol ammo would mysteriously stay at full, then function normally, then stay at full again, all in the same round. Also, when the server starts to lose track of where the player is, it needs to handle it a bit more intelliegently. I can always tell when the game is about to catapult my character up into the sky because a few minutes before hand I will find myself walking over cover instead of being blocked by it.

Oh yes, forgot to mention; text chat doesn't work and neither does the mic. Is that supposed to be happening?
I can't communicate at all with teammates, we just have to play silently.
It's happened occasionally that I hear someone trying to use a microphone but they only get like half a sentence out before it goes silent again?

I have a problems with skills that aren t in shortcut mode and that you can t change the shortcuts in multiplayer mode.

e.g: The stasis skill is nice but if i have to acitvate it with shift and then go there with the mouse i need 15 sec at least and then i am dead.(the time to target again is in it).

Drell vanguards...their shields suck. They need to be doubled.
Powers still dont activate 100% of the time. Its more like 60-75% of the time. Too many times you hit your powers 3x over and still fail to activate your power and die because of it. You should have 100% accuracy if the power isnt in cool down.
Power aim is sometimes erratic as well and doesn't always hit what you aim at.
Cover sometimes doesn't work right, might leave you sticking out.
Only a stomp when your killed gets boring.
Lack of team attacks
team high fives
Lack of connection bar to find good connection to players

I liked it, the new power system is very interesting and it's a good balance between the different races as in the pro's and cons. Krogan's killer melee but inability to roll is a good unique trait. Would have liked the ability to pick Race from the start rather than unlocking them just to give variety to team make ups. In one multiplayer instance I was a Krogan on a team of three human soldiers. It was kind of jarring from the overall story arc about a universal war when most teams were predominantly human. Now maybe I was just unlucky with my teams but more often than not the ratio was always more human than anything. Hope in full release to have a more varied team build up.

MP is very good. But of course there is room for improvement.

I like:

- the box system with random stuff (as with loot in mmo or diablo-like you always "wonder what you may get this time"). But this system should be push further with more stuff variety, and "unique stuff" like in diablo.

Need to be improved:

- I'm not against being push in a game that has already started but please add levels of the players in the score menu (when you hit escape), because I want to know if I'm with lvl1 in a gold game or people with good level enough to have a chance to win the round.

- I dislike that for each class there is already 1pt spent in a power. Please give us the point instead and let us place it where we want.

- I think it would be better if using a power wouldn't lock all powers. Because if I make a char with incinerate + cryo I should be able to send both without any delay between them, as I have sacrified another line for that (a more powerful char but a weak one, with no pt in HP / shield line)

- weapons are not on par regarding DPS. Some are even totally useless (all SMG).
The best choice being a phalanx or Scimitar or Mattock or Viper, the rest is not really worth using, you lose too much DPS.

- piling up everything to button A (running, rolling, wallhuging, activating things, vaulting...) (© Arppis)

- I like the bosses idea (© Catsith). Several bosses and each endgame we have a random one.

Question: do we already know how many different maps and ennemy set the real game will have ?

I really like the MP so far but there needs to be some changes.

I'm betting that this will be the case but the store needs to have at least the races as something to purchase. Have them cost more then a verteran pack so that you can play the odds, maybe 50,000cr.

I do think that the weapons so far are fairly well balanced out so far though i haven't used all of them.

Why no Krogan vanguards?

It does need a server browser of some sort of filter so that if i'm trying to get in a game with only 2 players so that my friend can hop in i'm not jumping in and out of lobbies.


To the post above just use a pistol and you'll be cryo-fire blasting everyone (think i have it down to like 2 seconds for a delay). SMG's aren't useless i love running around with my Tempest that have over 80 rounds in a clip and they weigh about the same as pistols. As for the Mattock the difference in weight affect that largely because for classes like the adept you want to just be putting down your abilities as often as you can.

Firebase Ghost is a very very well designed level!

It might go down among some of the greats, it has a classic deathmatch feel to the level which is a welcome relief and breath of fresh air for an old dude like me.

 I quite enjoyed the demo MP. I found both maps to be well designed, though I admit a preference for Firebase Ghost. I look forward to playing the actual MP and seeing the different enemies one can fight against.

My playthroughs have been fairly Bug free. However, I have run into two bugs which made playing the demo impossible in one case, and unpleasant in the other. Fortunately, they have happened very rarely.

The first bug, which rendered the demo unplayable, is what I call "Permanent Death". This has only happened to me once (fortunately). After having my health depleted, I was waiting to be revived when an assault trooper came by to give me the finishing blow. I attempted to use Medi-Gel to revive myself just before being executed, but failed (the Medi-Gel was used up however). Immediately afterwards, my squadmates finished the wave, at which point I should have been revived. Instead, my character (Turian sentinel) was stuck in the revival animation, while I was stuck in spectator mode. I stayed for two additional waves, but my character never became playable again whithin that particular playthough.

The second bug, I call the "Invisible Teammates". This one has happened to me on three or four occasions. Upon entering a game already in progress, I am unable to see the other players within the map. I can see their bullets and I can read their actions in the bottom right corner. However, I cannot interact with the players themselves. When one of them is down, I receive the in-game message saying a squadmate is injured, but I cannot interact with the player to revive him, even when he is directly next to me. They can however interact with my character.

I am unaware if these bugs have been reported before. ( I will admit that I did not read through the 70 pages in this thread) I did feel that I should mention these experiences. If these bugs have been mentioned before, then I apologise for making you read my overly verbose post.

Beyond these issues, I have been playing this demo with an almost obsesive zeal, seeing as the game will be out in stores in less than a week. I have forfeited any social life I had in the last week.

From what I played it is great. Fun and addicting. I like how it feels like the single player still, and not a different game all together.

I have really been enjoying the MP portion so far, so much so that I have only done the SP demo once. I love my quarian engineer, although, would be awesome to have a male quarian option.

Also, I don't enjoy the randomization of the items. After being able to save up and buy exactly what I want for both previous games, having that control taken away from me sucks. Especially when it comes to weapons (my shotgun that I never use is upgraded to level 5) and character options.

I know that the demo wouldn't support this, but I would like to be able to use my pre-order bonus weapons in MP... PLEASE!!!

I would like an option for text-based chat, particularly in the lobby.
Really, really good multiplayer, otherwise (various bugs notwithstanding).

It seems like a lot of people don't understand the unlock system. You are not unlocking the same thing over and over again, but when you keep getting something i.e. Mantis or Human Male Adept, you are UPGRADING the weapon (if you'll notice it'll go from Mantis I to Mantis II etc.) and with the class characters it gives you extra xp for that class along with another option to customize them.  I really like the unlock system, it makes things interesting. 

My only suggestions would be to 1) allow parties to join public games. It gets really hard if I have 1 or 2 friends playing to find a game because we cannot search for a game. And 2) enable some sort of targeting system like in Gears of War 3. It would be REALLY useful for something like that.

No female salarians for lore reasons, been stated a bunch.

Personal gripe, but for me I feel the hud on consoles is way to big and obnoxious. I understand it being larger than pc since you sit farther away from your TV, but in this day where most TV's are running 720p -1080p, they could have made it smaller. I just feel like there is clutter everywhere on screen. When I'm in cover at a chest high wall and I wanted to look at the gun my character was holding, the giant shield/health bar was just covering it. When I saw the game on pc it just looks so much more organized and non-intrusive.

Look I am crap and have naybe played 16 or 17 matches total and I can beat him by myself when teammates have died earlier in the wave (not because of phantom necessarily). 

(Then again, I did get Asari Adept with my first verteran pack and maybe killing the phantom was a fluke)

But just go on youtube and watch some vids of people playing Gold who take out phantom's like it's nothing. It's just perserverance to develop your character and skill.

Otherwise people are welcome to stick to the Single Player and play *cough* "story" *cough* mode and have pansy enemies. Right? Nobody kept playing a game for a long time because it was easy... People who play MP are usually pretty hardened gamers so it's right that they make it a challenge.

Wrong.

Any enemy that can one-shot you, regardless of how strong your shields and health are, and give you no chance of even resurrecting, is overpowered. Period.

Don't take this as a grief, I respect the power of the Phantom palm-cannon and their katana. I've taken down many of them numerous times. I'm not a n00b. But having said that, when an enemy can move like they do, 1-shot your shields down with the palm cannon, mortally wound you with 1 swipe of their katana, or outright KILL you, that's too much.

The Atlas can do the same thing, I'm well aware, but the trade off is that the Atlas is slow. The Phantom is not.

Take away the Phantom's instantkill, and I'm happy.

This game is really glitchy. Dont get me wrong but every game I either go invincible or somehow glitch into way above the map and die just to respawn at the end of the round and die again instantly. Then other times i will see an enemy use a skill on them but they will be up against a wall or glitched in it so it wont hit them. Really not cool when it happens with phantoms and I am a vanguard. Also why does rolling away from a skill like throw stop it. I could understand like dodging it but when its coming from behind and you roll forward and it hits you at the end of the roll I dont get that.
Also in love with this game so much.

The lack of reload in key moments is a problem I think... but it's particularly a big deal with the Mantis which is a terrible rifle for MP. The same problem occured in ME2 to a much lesser degree but because of the increased speed of ME3 MP the problem of missing a reload with the sniper rifle is really annoying. It's one of the reasons you see lots of people using a heavy pistol with a scope - it's just more effective than a mantis or viper especially when you factor in the fact that you have a better cooldown reduction weight penalty from a pistol. The only real sniper rifle I would use in MP (although I haven't got it yet) is the Widow - at least then it is actually one shot one kill a lot of the time.
