Please hear me out on this: Vanguard feels extremely over powered. With most of the videos going on youtube showing people playing as this class, I can see it becoming way to popular, making it a breeeze to blast through waves of enemies.

The biggest problem is Nova. Yes, it does take away your barrier, but as soon as Nova is activated, you can use your biotic charge to regain your shields and knock back your enemy, creating a doubleplus situation. If you add the shotgun and heavy mele, you can easily destroy enemies in seconds.

Nova deserves the regular cooldown so that charging will not create this unstopable combo. Maybe give Nova a slight damage boost to compnsate, but please, please add the cooldown to Nova to balance this class out a little more.

Thanks.

Other than that it has been really fun. Have not played campaign though. Don't want spoilers

Seems really great, but I ran into a few probkems where enemies either didnt seem to be taking damage or their deaths were delayed. Also I seemed to disconnect fairly often on loading a match, never outside of that, not sure why.

Also some annoying things were when the host would leave after they died, I was last person left but was holding the fort reasonably well about 3 waves in, and the host leaves and we all disconnect and get nothing.

plz have it like bulletstorm where the game adjusts for how many are in the game so one person can actually do fair but when more add it adjusts on the fly.

That would be good for solo players.

That, and they should add filler bots for empty slots as well, so you're not boned when randoms quit out.
Just check out Section 8: Prejudice on XBLA, that's how you make good Horde-style bots (called Swarm in that game). It's guaranteed they will save your hide at least once a mission.

Pro: Most fun I've ever had with fellow BSN regulars, ever. EVER.

So far I'm really liking the Multiplayer, I do get stuck into cover a lot when sprinting away from enemies (might just be me). Still hoping that you'll make the Volus playable in dlc.

Edit: I know that my level and unlocks aren't transferring over to the main game, Is there any extra bonus you might get for having played the demo? ( Like loading a save from ME1 into ME2 would get Starting bonuses...just curious)

The random packs that you purchase sucks, we should be able to know what we a getting for our time and effort.

Also her should be a way to adjust the difficulity for how many players are playing, I entered the arena with just one other guy and we were murdered.

Another thing is if the game would display the character name instead of the gamer tag on the kill list that would be cool.

Aside from those things it's as good as I could have asked it to be, a really good time. 4 out of 5

Which makes sense until you play above Bronze. Or Charge wrong. Or there's an Atlas. Or there's a sentry you didn't know about. Or you don't have a safe spot to escape to. Or there's more than 1 Guardian.

It's fun. Maps are somewhat small, and the random rewards are quite frustrating if you want to play a certain race/gender/class combo. Besides that it's surprisingly entertaining. I'd prefer if the character name would be shown ingame, not the account name.

However - the matchmaking system is somewhat off. Quite often there are only two or three people in the lobby, and no one would join, even if you wait for minutes. And, of course, random people do random things - they quit. And you are stuck in a wasted game.

I am not special enough for multiplayer yet. Is the regular run speed better than the runspeed in single player?

Likes:
Smashing things with melee
Being able to hit Sentinels through their shield's peephole
Secondary objectives

Dislikes:
Krogan heavy melee attack flys through enemies and is generally buggy
Difficulty for starters is a bit high

Hates:
Random Unlocks (WHY!?!)

Multiplayer is very intense, fun and when you and your team triumph over a particularly nasty round its exhilarating. Only issues i have is the random unlocks system, which always fails to provide me with the items i had hoped for or any item that would be of use to my desired class. I would also like for all possible race and class variations to be made possible (Krogan vanguard would be a terror to behold)

I love this mp demo,

I just managed to finish a Silver Challenge on Firebase Ghost for the first time, with only three of us, a Sentinel, Vanguard and me as Infiltrator. Several times we ended up with me being only one alive and I had to move to a side picking up the weaker targets first while they slowly move towards my uncloaked position, then use Tactical Cloak and run through em to the other side, rinse and repeat... Especially when we hit Wave 10, I ended up alone again... being hunted by two phantoms, a Nemesis, several Assault Troopers, Engineers and the cherry on the cake, TWO Atlas golems. Had to finish the rest of em off, then kite around the Atlasses using 8 shots to deplete their shields and then the remaining two to hit their armor... Took about 40 min, but when we hit Wave 11 and finally made it out of there, now there I had the thrill of I havent had in ages...

Yeh sorry, i doubt anyone is interested in a personal story like that...

I feel that Infiltrator is a bit OP as you tend to have to lone wolf at above bronze level while the rest keeps their attention. You can cloak and then arm an objective in the middle of enemy groups, (fully and then still run away), cloak and revive teammates...
Krogan charges seems a bit over the top as well...

I agree with what everyone has been saying about Vanguard. Me and a friend were playing the game and testing out what classes and characters we wanted and all was going pretty well. We were loving the game other than a few bugs and such due to it being a Demo (those are listed below). However, the moment he became Vanguard, he started killing off enemies a bit too quickly and then would run over and kill mine. Granted, that's kinda how he is, but the fact is that Vanguard is too overpowered and I can easily see it making people frustrated that they can't get kills in or are getting nothing but assists cause someone on their team is Vanguard. I won't go into deep specifics, but it's just too overpowered, especially with the combos that one can put into play with it.

I also wanted to touch on the unlock packs when it comes to weapon and character parts. I can understand how it works and it's done well, but what I don't like is how it keeps giving me mod parts for weapons I don't use, and characters that aren't even in the class I'm using or have used before. That friend I mentioned earlier got a Mattock rifle from the starter pack just when we started where as I'm still stuck with the first weapons, barely any mods, and what new weapons I do have is only the lvl 2s and 3s of these starter guns. I just believe that it would work better if the random system that's used for this at least recognized what weapons we use most and what class we use and try to give us items for those first. Not saying give us all of those first, just put in a percentage chance for getting these based on the class we're in or weapons we've used most so far.

Lastly, a couple months ago, I read about being able to hijack the Atlas Mech if you can kill the pilot without the Mech getting destroyed. I've attempted this throughout the Multiplayer and even a few times on the Single Player. Each time the Mech gets destroyed. I don't know if you can hijack it yet here in the Demo, but if so, I would suggest some sort of way to get the pilot out. I've done nothing but shoot at the open area of the cockpit and still, that glass shield thing never drops or breaks. Not saying make it easy to do, but actually making it doable without the Mech only having a sliver of health would be nice (if that's how the hijacking aspect has been designed).

Now, for those glitches I mentioned before.
1: Enemies getting stuck on that snow map (forget it's name, Firebase White or something) over the ledge of landing pad with the fighter. I noticed that they tend to get stuck there from time to time and won't move either for a little while or until somone goes up next to the ammo on that catwalk nearby and shoots them from there.
2: When climbing the ladders, the animation seems to put us up a bit farther than needed so it looks like we're standing in midair (around the height of the ladders top struts) for a few seconds until we move away a couple feet. Not really much, but hey.
3: When I'm using cryoblast, I noticed that even if it hits the enemy and they are dodgerolling, it almost never effects them. I've had it effect them only one time when they were dodgerolling. These didn't miss or anything, they just didn't take effect. Hopefully an area of effect to that power helps this.
4: The guardians are tough and all, but I'd think that if a sticky grenade was planted on their shoulder from behind the shield, it wouldn't take into effect the defense of the shield. I did this and it didn't damage the guardian at all, but instead killed the trooper next to him. I know it landed on the guardians shoulder. Hopefully something can be done about this or fix this glitch (I only managed it once so not sure if it's a glitch or what).
5: Speaking of the sticky grenade, I think the arc of which it's thrown is just a little high. If I aim at the ground, it goes a good 4 or so feet infront of me. Makes it pretty hard to stick a guy when it keeps getting thrown over them and you don't always think to look down before throwing when you're in the middle of a firefight.

Normally, I wouldn't bother with such a detailed listing of what I've seen in a DEMO, but I've had a couple good games go bad because certain things weren't brought up. I really enjoy Mass Effect and would like to avoid this so I feel that a long detailed list like this can only help. Hopefully what I've written here will be read and taken into account.

The prospect of having to waste time playing a character I care nothing about while earning credits to possibly get the race I want to play eventually puts me off MP entirely. Let us at least choose our first character combo then unlock others later for those who want the variety.

I really wish that you could see when you get headshots, multikills, etc. when the kill score (or whatever it's called) is registered. That would take out a lot of annoying guesswork.

Oh, almost forgot. When a guy was climbing a ladder and I froze him just as he stepped up, he fell back over the edge, unfroze and then suddenly appeared atop the ladder like he had never been frozen. I think that needs to be fixed. I will also disagree on what 3GX said in his post before mine. I think Infiltrator is just fine because if you don't cloak in cover, enemies WILL see you and you'll have cloaked for nothing. Plus, the ability to do things such as in that little story he wrote is what players like me want. It shows that Infiltrator has it's ace in the hole (the camo) like the other classes, but can use it best in situations like that just how other classes use theirs in their own situations. Engineers have turrets that can cover a spot for instance (especially with the rocket installed). It's just basic for that. Now, if the Infiltrator stayed cloaked for quite the long time, could do all this stuff and such, and still get out cloaked, then yes it's overpowered. However, knowing the time it takes to activate certain points or such other than the one where you just activate it and stay in the area, and the usefulness of being able to revive a teammate while cloaked, these only show that Infiltrators cloak is pretty much good. Now, I haven't upgraded my Infiltrator all the way, so maybe there could be something wrong, but I'll be sure to come back and submit a repost about it if that's the case. Otherwise I feel that only Vanguard is truly overpowered.

To each their own I guess, though.

I would really like a way to trade species unlocks, guns, mod, etc. with other players. Maybe then people will stop whining about the random unlocks.

Just played 2 games... loved it. Opted for an Infiltrator an am loving just popping people in the head, especially now i've started using Cryo Blast, is jus a case of freezing and head popping over and over.

That said, I have not been able to play in a full room as of yet, which is disappointing. It appears the people playing this are rather snobby considering so many high levels are opting to leave a lobby if there is a low level person like myself in there. That's rather embarrassing for a co-op multiplayer. Hopefully later on can get some games going with people here and have a full team.

Finally got on. Me and my buddy managed to hold out for 8 waves before they finally caught up to us. Played as a Soldier. This is INTENSE. The fact I can't pause or use radar really raises the heartrate and can make one easily frantic.

I still have files to finish on ME1 and ME2. But the MP demo might be too distracting.

pros:
blast to play, characters control much better than in ME2. leveling up is addicting and easy enough to be very rewarding

cons: it's really hard, especially with less than three people. i can make it to wave 10 easy with a decent group but then i just get slaughtered by those assassin people and mechs. i've only managed to complete the maps twice. i've kind of just had to get used to the idea that i'm not playing to win, i'm playing to level up and see how far i can get.
