I had to outright disable my firewall to get it working with my friends. Opening ports is... difficult on my router apparently.

My friends and I played countless matches yesterday with no problems. Today, none of us can even join each others' games, no matter who starts up the lobby. Very frustrating. =/

Yeah, yesterday I was playing just fine, but I can barely connect anymore.

Damn I was really hoping to actually get on this. Probably due to the large amount of people instantly trying to play multiplayer.

Its annoying because I can barely start a game without somehow losing the connection.

I've been trying to host PC lobbys... and I can invite my friends to my games; and I can even join games fine... but lord help me if anyone will ever join my hosted/lobby. I'm DMZ'ed and no Software Firewall.... I promise it's not my Router/Firewall/etc

Finally managed to play a game through, though it resulted in defeat since 2 of the other players did disconnect, finally nice to get some xp credit for all this at least...

I was playing a couple of games, lag problems started quite soon, and now I can't even connect to the EA server in the menu (it says it's unavailable). Is that just what everyone's experiencing? I can't even get into the multiplayer/character menu.

Ok. So I'm not the only one having connection issues here. Playing on PC and I played lag free all day yesterday. I log in today to play and MAN. Its a total lagfest. Takes several minutes to find a game or lobby. Then once I start playing, everybody (both teammates and enemies) is jerking/teleporting around the place. I'm trying to level my Infiltrator and sniping is pretty much impossible when you're constantly shooting where the enemy was 2 seconds ago.

I have a AT&T U-verse broadband router. It does have a firewall with a NAT/Gaming section so that I can configure it so I can play the ME3 demo by adding a profile under the Custom Services, except it asks for a Global Port Range, a Base Host Port, and protocol (UDP, TCP, or both) and I have no idea what to put in for those fields.

Okay I can now play some full games without disconnecting. Don't know what the problem was originally. Maybe the connection?

Are you playing on PC? The easiest solution there would be to check your firewall, it should tell you which ports the game uses and which protocols are required.

For the Xbox

Taken from XBOX Live:
  • Port 88 (UDP)
  • Port 3074 (UDP und TCP)
  • Port 53 (UDP und TCP)
  • Port 80 (TCP)

This opens the NAT for your games and should allow smoother p2p connetions.

I've always been able to play the ME3 Demo (PC) through full games; and I think the lag depends on the Host (at least it seems to). At first I would try joining a game and once I did join a lobby it would just sit there with just me and the Leader... no one else would ever join. So, I thought either hardly anyone has it on PC right now or something is just messed up. Soooo, I quit/leave that lobby and then just Search for another one and I either get tossed into a full lobby, or just another one with only the Leader. I just keep leaving/joining until I get into a full game.

However, I have never been able able to host a public game it seems. No matter how long I sit around waiting... No one ever gets into my Lobby (I'm in IT and it's not my router/firewall/ports; and my bandwidth is the top tier). I personally think there's something wrong with the matchmaking *or* there's just so little people that have access to the ME3 PC Demo Multiplayer right now.

You are correct, I am playing on the PC but your info doesn't help me too much. Here's what my U-verse router configuration screen looks like for the NAT.

UPNP is enabled and I can't connect to any matches on the 360 version of the game. Right now I'm playing the PC version and it takes me less than 5 seconds to get into a game. Personally I think something is just wrong with the matchmaking on the 360 version. NAT is open.

I've been on wave 9-10 a couple of times today, when the "Host loses connection," or something like that, and I'm kicked out to the lobby with no XP or credits to show for it. Is there any way you could adjust settings so that players will at least get to keep any money or experience they earn if their connection fails? It's been getting very irritating.

I hate it the most when the game bugsout for me and doesn't connect to the actual game. After that Xbox freezes up when I try again and my level is "0". Really annoying bug you got there.

AHH!. Less than 20 seconds to extraction and lost connection to the server! I was hosting too. Guys, I swear it wasn't my fault.

I'm having tons of lag issues and some that I don't even know if they are lag issues like my guns disappearing and not being able to use them. Or I get stuck in one spot usually on an object and can't move from it until the mission ends. The ports are forwarded and UPNP is enabled...don't have this issue in any other multiplayer/online games...(I play SWTOR all the time with almost no latency)

There seems to be a problem in the demo where if you set up a public game, no one joins. It doesnt seem to be linked up with the quick match search.

Me and my friends have no trouble getting into quick games or joining each other.

Any idea if this will be fixed in the retail version?

I don't have any problem on on my xbox, but playing on my PC last night everyone else just started running in place and after a while I was disconnected. May ofcourse have something to do about me being in Norway and the host across the pond or something.

My setup is like this:
Router<----Wifi---->Laptop sharing connection<----cable---->Xbox
The router has uPnP activated but when I run a diagnostic on the connection it says something about NAT and how it could affect my connectivity or something like that.

Anyone know a way to fix this? I don't have one of those fancy wifi-antennas for my xbox but I should probably get one, would be nice if I could fix this in the meantime however.
