I was excited when I joined my first Gold game today after the operation started and we won, despite being as random a group as it gets. Even topped the scores, but what do you know, wave 11 - lost connection to servers.

Great.

Happened to me the other day. But lost connection about 5 seconds from extraction.

I could still shoot but I noticed no one not even the enemies were moving and then the timer hit zero and "You lost your connection" FUUUUUU!

Considering EA's apparent desire to move ME into a multi-player action game (much cheaper and quicker to make then RPG's), I'm shocked over the almost complete lack of interest into this rather serious issue, or at least it seems they aren't interested.

Several aspects of ME3 seem to be quite rushed, or not really thought out.

Perhaps BioWare/EA are intentionally trying to ****** of their customers, I can't understand why they have been acting the way they have been.

between waves took ages to get started bronze wave 10 it starts lagging. enemies are stuck there after the wave we sat there about 20 mins for the extraction to start. everyone leaves apart from 2 of us. sat there for another 10 mins. it counted down to 0 twice before i got the extraction

This isn't the only thread on networking. Just wanted to suggest that in a way this is like having someone wait in the lobby and not knowing why they are not starting. If we could text or communicate and know someone is there, it would help greatly. Maybe there is some policy about not discussing some bugs or technical issues...all people really want is to know is that the issue is being considered. Doesn't matter if the reason is slow to fix because of XBox approvals, or even because of technical difficulties. Hearing nothing is like hearing that the issue is not taken seriously. If there is a policy on non-comment, it would be better to break that policy. To know the issue is recognized.

I've had a fairly bad afternoon of trying to play with either dropped connections before the game or part way through. Got to the evening and was much better.

I saw a message that I've never seem before "Hosting Player left the game Restarting Level" was on wave 3 and the game continued to the end without a problem. Is this a new fix or just something I've missed out on before?

Just means that probably the hosting player lost his connection. You never know why, maybe they actually left. 99% networking disconnected that person. If it is YOU that disconnects, it will say the same thing sometimes, and restart you solo on the level...nobody else around. The error messages in this game are a lot like other software: Very little meaning. Ever seen the cartoon about the customer service guy in a software company asking exactly what is wrong, and the guy at the other end keeps repeating things like "It don't work" or "Its broken"? :P  I've found some patches coincide with more network issues...and only once when my provider went down was it ever a real network issue.

Just finished another failed mission...the enemy, when going up ramps or ladders, continued up...levitating. Wonder if he had tower approval for takeoff? Then I died, and upon revive, was stuck looking down at my body, till I was killed again. Then I was moving around under the map...till they killed me again. This time I was so far under the map that it was a blackout. A few times prior to all this, there were short "rewinds" of my location, but mostly things seemed ok. Silence is a bad idea on this one.

3 times yesterday I lost connection to the server during Wave 11 extraction, once with less than 20 seconds left. Beyond frustrating to have spent 20+ minutes and have nothing to show for it.

Same issue on xbox... i quit for about 2 weeks and came back to find the same problem...

@ EA GAMES: This IS a serious problem, I don't know how you expect any of us to take you seriously anymore when a problem that YOUR COMPANY has had for the past 7 years (Battlefield 2)... STILL hasn't been fixed yet.

Get your ass into gear and sort this problem or you WILL CONTINUE to lose players, sorry to sound like a complete ******, but 7 years is enough time to fix an issue.

WTH is wrong with ME3 servers today. Last time I lost connection to ME3 servers was weeks ago. Now I have lost connection to servers 4 times in one frikkin game. I join back and loose connection to ME3 servers within 2 minutes of joining. Internet is working OK at that time. No problem with browsing/streaming etc.

---

Still happening after four hours. Piece of **** Internet Service Providers from 3rd world countries have stable servers than this...

It isn't the servers. I can show no overruns, no errors, etc. Zero loss from east to west coast, and latency less than 40 ms. This is purely a software issue, with a bad error message. If the network were bad, this would be a good message. But the real problem is somewhere they have tried to develop an idea of "connected" or "not connected" of their own...reliable protocols...without using TCP. Their software is wrong. TCP would be worse, granted that technically a real time game like this can't use TCP, it'd suck. But their own software fails as well. Network is fine. Error message should itself have a bug report for being a bad error message. [However, it takes less technical support to blame it on you instead of the software]

I never ever post on these forums, but this issue I need to make a stand on. I'm in Australia and I'm fed up with these crappy server problems or whatever. Sure they tell me its a problem at my end, that I have to turn off my firewall. I shouldn't have to do that! It was working fine for me with the firewall on weeks ago. I'm not risking a virus just because they can't get thier act together. I'm tired of EA, Bioware and origin! I don't care who is a fault! I'm going back to steam. I Don't have to turn off the firewall to play multiplayer on it.

Firewalls do have to be open for the required ports. Don't recall what they are offhand, but two UDP ports for sure. The game talks between each player and the leader, so those ports must be open. Turning it OFF though is completely wrong. Just the proper ports, nothing else, and then only for the right protocol, UDP. Telling you to turn it completely off is just irresponsible laziness.

This isn't an EA game. Their help desk made it abundantly clear to me that they only publish.

My apologies .458. Yes some ports do need to be open...I have opened them as far as I know. Still the same problem though. Sadly the advice on turning off the firewall was the best they had. dispite what I said earlier I haven't completely given up in the hope the issue will be solved. It would be a great game if it was. till then back to steam.

I have very little issues with disconnects, but I pretty much always host games so I don't know if that has something to do with it.

Anyway, I had a full gold extraction, but instead of the score screen I got a disconnect screen, and I was host.

That is just bad, a game shouldn't be that sensitive to disconnects in the first place.

I got no credits, but its not that important, I was just messing around on FBWGG to try out my new Geth Infiltrator with nothing in fitness rocking a Javelin build. :)

Bioware is a software company and is owned by EA (still retaining branding). ergo Bioware works for EA and gets funded by EA. Servers are provided by EA. EA likes money. they cut down on things to save money. like no dedicated servers for pc platform. so yeah they don't like to optimize the server environment and such things for player's convenience. Cause it costs them millions of dollars. I love Bioware but hates EA.

Had some major problems last night, hoping someone maybe has some tips? I'm on PS3 using wireless router.

I've not had any real trouble connecting to matches when doing a quick search. I can do that all day long and be fine.

However, it seems to take an Act of Congress to join a friend's game when I get an invite.

The first day I tried, I accepted the game invite. I then got stuck on the "joining session" screen for an extended period of time... up to the point that the little "communicating" spinning disc message in upper left-hand corner of screen disappeared. I quit out of the game entirely, messaged my friend to send another invite, then re-booted the game. This time, I was finally able to get into her lobby.

Last night, after a multitude of attempts with a different friend, I had to stop. First, my husband just finally got his own copy and online code for the game so we could play online together. I set up a private lobby and sent him a game invite. He connected to my lobby, no problem. We play a few bronze matches before he quits for the night.

I then had a friend send me a game invite afterwards. My first attempt to join put me on the endless "joining session" screen. After about a minute and a half, I quit the game and asked my friend to send another invite (because your invite disappears after you make an attempt to use it, even if you don't successfully make it into the lobby). He did, so I tried joining again. This time, on the "joining session" screen, I got an error message saying something along the lines of "a network error has occurred and your connection to this game has been lost". Friend sends me a THIRD invite. I try again, get to "joining session" screen, then get a "this session is no longer available" message. I message my friend and he gets confused, says he is sitting in his lobby  right now.

We try something different. I create MY own private lobby and invite him and several others. He tries several times, but also gets stuck on a "joining mission" screen. However, a different friend managed to enter my lobby. First friend never could. We gave up after 30 freaking minutes of trying to troubleshoot this.

My real problem is that there seems to be no real discernible pattern here. If I had trouble connecting to any games at all, private friends' or public lobbies, maybe I could understand. If I could NEVER connect to a friend's lobby, I could understand (but I HAVE been able to before, but never on the first "try"). If NOBODY could ever enter MY lobbies, I could understand. But this just seems totally random... some friends can use the invite to get in with no problem on first attempt... others can't ever get in... and I usually have to try via multiple invites to connect to a friend's lobby, if I can ever connect at all in some cases.

Any advice? 'Cause you can color me confused here.
