Had some major problems last night, hoping someone maybe has some tips? I'm on PS3 using wireless router.

I've not had any real trouble connecting to matches when doing a quick search. I can do that all day long and be fine.

However, it seems to take an Act of Congress to join a friend's game when I get an invite.

The first day I tried, I accepted the game invite. I then got stuck on the "joining session" screen for an extended period of time... up to the point that the little "communicating" spinning disc message in upper left-hand corner of screen disappeared. I quit out of the game entirely, messaged my friend to send another invite, then re-booted the game. This time, I was finally able to get into her lobby.

Last night, after a multitude of attempts with a different friend, I had to stop. First, my husband just finally got his own copy and online code for the game so we could play online together. I set up a private lobby and sent him a game invite. He connected to my lobby, no problem. We play a few bronze matches before he quits for the night.

I then had a friend send me a game invite afterwards. My first attempt to join put me on the endless "joining session" screen. After about a minute and a half, I quit the game and asked my friend to send another invite (because your invite disappears after you make an attempt to use it, even if you don't successfully make it into the lobby). He did, so I tried joining again. This time, on the "joining session" screen, I got an error message saying something along the lines of "a network error has occurred and your connection to this game has been lost". Friend sends me a THIRD invite. I try again, get to "joining session" screen, then get a "this session is no longer available" message. I message my friend and he gets confused, says he is sitting in his lobby  right now.

We try something different. I create MY own private lobby and invite him and several others. He tries several times, but also gets stuck on a "joining mission" screen. However, a different friend managed to enter my lobby. First friend never could. We gave up after 30 freaking minutes of trying to troubleshoot this.

My real problem is that there seems to be no real discernible pattern here. If I had trouble connecting to any games at all, private friends' or public lobbies, maybe I could understand. If I could NEVER connect to a friend's lobby, I could understand (but I HAVE been able to before, but never on the first "try"). If NOBODY could ever enter MY lobbies, I could understand. But this just seems totally random... some friends can use the invite to get in with no problem on first attempt... others can't ever get in... and I usually have to try via multiple invites to connect to a friend's lobby, if I can ever connect at all in some cases.

Any advice? 'Cause you can color me confused here.

I had the same troubles with joining friends games last night. Don't know what it was, but we finally both got in someone else's lobby, and we couldn't get a 4th random to join. We started the match and someone was able to get in then, but the host left a few games in, and the same thing happened where it got stuck at 3 people. Eventually we got 4 people in the middle of the next game, and someone left after another match at the score screen and this somehow kicked me, and sent me back to the "joining session" screen freeze.

Have no idea what the problem is, but I find the whole thing where it kicks you to the menu and has to reconnect enitrely pretty clunky, and don't get me started on the disconnects...

I've had it up to *here* [hand held at eyebrow level] with the connection problems.

From the beginning I was able to get connected, no problem, without altering my router/firewall configuration. Now? I'm lucky if I can get into a game at all, and if I do get in, I get disconnected within the first few rounds.

Putting my PC in the DMZ makes no difference, BTW. I don't care what Support says, this isn't a TCP/UDP/IP problem. If it were, it would have been a problem from the very beginning.

I'm beyond fed up.

Ouch, just had 2 gold matches disconnect in a row. One I joined the other hosted. Roughly 40-50 minutes waste of time... :/

My apologies .458. Yes some ports do need to be open...I have opened them as far as I know. Still the same problem though. Sadly the advice on turning off the firewall was the best they had. dispite what I said earlier I haven't completely given up in the hope the issue will be solved. It would be a great game if it was. till then back to steam.

Don't blame you. In any case, if the leader has YOU blocked for some reason, then you also can't join. Sometimes it is a bad route to a specific host, sometimes the leader has incorrect set NAT...there are a lot of reasons. As an experiment, you should try hosting...that would cause a change in how there is a failure (or possibly no failure) if the issue is related to outside networking, and not your firewall. I don't know the specifics of the game's network requirements, so I don't know the exact nature of how that would change things...but if you host it should be different than if you join someone else...assuming there is some network issue possibly related to configurations. Just an experiment. The other experiment being to turn off the firewall completely just as a test for one game.

they like to say it are Internet. but the lag out and that. but the fact is its on there end. none of the other ea games i have the problem like this.

This isn't an EA game. Their help desk made it abundantly clear to me that they only publish.

Bioware is a software company and is owned by EA (still retaining branding). ergo Bioware works for EA and gets funded by EA. Servers are provided by EA. EA likes money. they cut down on things to save money. like no dedicated servers for pc platform. so yeah they don't like to optimize the server environment and such things for player's convenience. Cause it costs them millions of dollars. I love Bioware but hates EA.

If that is true, then multiple persons at their help desk lied to me. I was told, over and over, by their official representatives, that EA publishes for Bioware, and nothing more. I was directly told that their help desk does not even have contact with Bioware directly. I was told this repeatedly, on the telephone to EA.

Looks like they got some server issues. Last night I kept porting between two spots in several games (The client and server can't agree on the players position). In the last half hour I have disconnected from several games. I just ran speed test and got A ratings on multiple servers across the country BTW, so it's definitely not my connection.

I too am having major connection issues and all my firewall settings are accurate. A NAT error isnt going to throw me into a Silver match when I am trying to access a Bronze match, or the server just tosses me into a middle of a game, Gold, Silver or Bronze. Im ANGRY that all my MS Points and these Spectre packs are for NOTHING due to the fact that you LOSE them when you get tossed. I am FED UP with this. Money wasted day after day!

Just started having some serious connection issues. I can connect to my friend's game, but then I drop within 1 minute of joining. Also, currently available premium spectre pack is not available to me in the store. This started about 45 minutes ago.

EDIT
Also, I seem unable to join public games.

Even by my usual connection problems trying to play MP on a PC  tonight has been a stunning example of how to waste a couple of hours.

Up to now I had noticed that game 1 would normally play ok but trying to have subsequent games would lead to a dropped connection. Closing the game back to desktop and then restarting was the best chance to get another play through. Has anyone else noticed this?

Tonight has had just about every example of dropped connection mentioned on these pages with no sucessful games.

Note to EA/Bioware: it is NOT 'OK' that my connection has been lost, maybe reword your error message to a more contrite  'sorry for wasting your time we're useless' or a more sarcastic 'Ha!Ha! got you again with only 10 seconds to extraction, and you were doing so well'

I am not sure if it is of any consequence, but I am trying to play from Czech Republic (Central Europe). No luck, obviously. My friends from Slovakia (neighboring country) have no problems whatsoever. Maybe we could try to isolate the issue geographically?

Same here. At first - hosted a game, three other players just vanished into thin air. I logged off and wasn't able to rehost/join any match. Shut the game down, applied a patch trough origin, relaunched... same stuff, no go. Poland, Warsaw.

well I'm having the same issue here in the US, so that probably doesn't help narrow it down geographically ... but I am 1/2 Czech, perhaps its a racial issue?

Same problem, in Michigan: joined a game, was immediately disconnected, and now can't join nor host. Rebooting the console didn't fix the problem, and neither did power-cycling my modem and router.

Well, at least we now know the problems are not location-related :) It seems there is a major screw-up somewhere on the server side. One would expect patches to solve issues, but it certainly looks like the latest one might have introduced this problem.

Also, the "unable to re-join until the game is restarted" is happening to me too.

Looks like at this moment there is also something wrong that is being blamed on distributing the award packs. Causing 100% failure, I can only rarely find a game, then it is lost very quickly even in the first round. Guess the old network dog learned a new trick, hopefully this trick will be fixed in a couple of hours.

How many pages of connection problems do you think we'll need to post before EA offer any sort of aknowledgement of this isuue?

I thought it was just bad weather here, but if other people are having problems...
My guess is server-side tune-up.

Must have been one of the items in the reward pack, a special 'we're going to hack you off' item we didn't notice!
