Your metaphor isn't exactly apt; usually they don't remove my spark plugs and slash my tires when I go in for a tune-up.pirsquar wrote...
My guess is server-side tune-up.

Looks like at this moment there is also something wrong that is being blamed on distributing the award packs. Causing 100% failure, I can only rarely find a game, then it is lost very quickly even in the first round. Guess the old network dog learned a new trick, hopefully this trick will be fixed in a couple of hours.
Yeah, it definitely looks like it is related to the commendation packs distribution (and/or the latest patch - incidentally, does anyone know what that was supposed to fix?). Victory pack arrived all right for me several hours ago (it was basically a Jumbo Equipment Pack this time around).
If I had to guess, I'd say certain servers are not updated to the latest code or something - some of them already run the latest changes, the others don't. And these problems are the result.
Anyway, nothing to do here, I think I may as well go to bed and hope this will be resolved ASAP. Good luck to anyone patient enough to check and re-check the status of this issue

How many pages of connection problems do you think we'll need to post before EA offer any sort of aknowledgement of this isuue?
Is there place where this info is posted?

Hmm. I was online a couple hours ago, and also pulled down my Victory Pack. I have friends that didn't get the Victory Pack, never saw the PSP, and can play just fine. (They're playing now. Jerks.)
So: anyone on here who is having connection problems without receiving a Victory Pack?

well I'm having the same issue here in the US, so that probably doesn't help geographically ... but I am 1/2 Czech, perhaps its a racial issue?
You and your knedliczki. That's all your fault.
I forgot to mention I'm also 1/2 Italian, so that'd be a knedliczki bolognese
Edit: And I still can't play ... I can get to the MP menu but thats about it ... I did get the Victory Pack a few hours ago though ... but now I no longer see the Deluxe Spectre Pack which was here earlier, just the base three packs
Edit 2: Able to connect now but I'm only being thrown into the middle of games already in progress (I loathe that)
Edit 3: back to not being able to play again

I actually just came to this conclusion myself but I thought it was probably jusy coincidence. It seems like people who got their Victory packs as they came out are having trouble connecting now. I was trying to play earlier with a friend, and he can connect just fine, while I can't. I got a Victory pack and he didn't.

I haven't gotten either of my packs and I'm not even able to create a multiplayer match. I just get "A network error occurred." message. It just searches forever when I try to do a quick match.
Well, so much for that idea.

I was able to get it working for a bit by restarting my router and modem, but we (me and the other players that connected) didn't even make it past wave 1 before everyone froze/started running into walls and the pop up cam that said "Lost connection to game".

Had to call them on the telephone. FYI, I no longer believe their answer that this would be fixed within a couple of hours. Been more like 5 or 6 hours and it is still failed.

Again, I can join random public games just fine. But now I cannot join ANY friends' games via invite and they can't join mine. WTH?
All I can join are games in progress. Those always lock up and fail within about 10 seconds.

Took us 40 minutes to do one silver match though, because, unfortunately, others were glitching out, dying quickly, then I'd try to revive but they'd die as quick as I'd revive (didn't seem to be player error, well, except for one idiot) then I ended up having to solo for last wave on almost all waves. I suck at sniping as my SI but love to do it. Okay, this last part wasn't necessary but have never done that before so I had to toot my own horn somewhere
Finally got a message that I haven't seen for awhile about 'error' connection to EA down and it rebooted me all the way back to the resume game, new game, multiplayer menu thingy rather than just back to my character. That's when I quit playing. I am on Xbox.

I'm having problems too. I was able to play earlier, and got my Victory Pack when it came out for me. I proceeded to play a few more matches to try and get the credits for a PSP, but after 2 matches I suddenly couldn't connect to any games, and whenever I tried to host a game it would pop up saying "A network error has occurred". The PSPs disappeared from the store, and I now cannot buy any packs.

Per EA Support, it's something along the lines of unscheduled maintenance:

that is a desk monkey giving an answer just to get the guy asking the question to go away.
seriously if that was the real answer then they would have put a post up explaining it already.
basicly they did the patch that they didnt test before going live with it and it broke MP.
now they are either running around like their head is on fire trying to figure out what happened with no results as of yet.
or
they dont care because its not definable as "Game Breaking" acording to the way they describe other major bugs that make some class's halfplayable/unplayable.
so they will fix it when they feel like it.
i may sound harsh, but not adressing your customers/clients with what is happening is just bad tact.
also as a large company they have no excuse for not informing us, even with a small one sentence official announcement.
