1: I have no personal firewall / antivirus
2: UPnP enabled on my router
3: I manually opened the 3659 and 6000 ports on my router.
Since the patch 1.04 it is dead. First I thougth because of the big traffic on the servers, but now I simply not able to play MP. From my last 12 matches I could finish without a connection-lost kick-off only 1... 12/1...
I'm playing since may... I had no problem at all before. My OS, machine, router, ISP is the same... And I can't play with a 80/20 Mbits internet... I don't understand what changed.
I also tried an online help by EA... but that is completly useless. So I don't know what to do...

What makes me rage is the fact that it always happens in 10-11th wave range, ESPECIALLY 5 seconds before extraction. Did I ****** off someone at Origin or what?
I guess my only option is praying to the Enkindlers by now.

If that were the case, then no one would be able to play the game. I had these same issues when I recently bought a new system. I didn't have any problems with my old system connecting or having disconnects, but I did with the new one, connected to the same router. I could have done nothing, blamed the problem on the EA servers and waited for THEM to fix it (won't happen because the overwhelming majority of people can get stable connections). But, since logic was telling me only the new computer was having a problem, I decided it was up to me to figure it out. I searched threads in the PC tech support section and made a lot of the suggested changes. That was like 3 weeks ago. SInce then, not one failed login attempt or disconnect on the later waves, whereas before the changes I had to try logging in at least 3 times every time to have the DLC recognized and mostly every game I would disconnect in the later waves. BTW, the latest patch and the new DLC have not affected my connection in any way. Still rock solid.Zhuinden wrote...
The problem is with Origin....
Here is what I posted on two older theads about connection problems (which I found on a different thread or forum, bu someone else:
I was having this problem with a new computer I just got last night. Trying to get into ME3 servers today, I kept getting the "...servers are unavailable..." messages. I tried a bunch of times and finally got in, but kept getting disconnected from games in the later waves. I then searched, and found the following solution in an old thread. Since I made these changes, I've had five games to extraction - no disconnects. I don't know if it's really a fix, or if things just got better connectionwise, but it SEEMS to work, Maybe it will work for others having a problem. Note that UPnP was enabled in my router by default, and I disabled it at the same time as I made these other changes. Also, I port forwarded ports 3659 and 6000 in my router. All these things together is working now. I hope it lasts!

Kind of fix - Windows 7 64bit
Edit: Discovered a kind of fix for it - however - sometimes 'quick match' sits there at connecting for eternity - and lag increase seems higher more frequently - however - have only experienced one disconnect in 5 games. Worth a shot if you're having trouble.
1) Go to start and run Services.msc (it will have a little cog icon when you search for it)
2) Scroll down the list and disable UPnP Device Host - (should be set to manual)
3) Scroll down and set SSDP to manual and stop if running.
4) Go to your Network and Sharing Center - Advanced Sharing Settings - and tick 'Turn off network discovery'
Seemed to resolve the issues (also to note is I had UPnP disabled in my modem settings prior to doing this steps from previous trouble shooting - so unsure if that would make a difference, but at this time, justy happy to be able to complete a few MP games).

You have to go to page 4 on the first link above to see my post. Following that, I believe I added some other things that helped the connection more, like port forwarding.
I know it sucks to have connection problems. I hope you guys can figure it out an enjoy the game.

Cause - I discovered that Origin dropped me every time my network was listed as local only. I also discovered this local only issue was absurdly irritating and had nothing to do with my actual connection. My OS--I use vista home x64--thought I was losing connection every so often even though I wasn't. I monitored this closely and found it to be the cause of my issue. Every time it displayed "local only" I was disconnected from origin and ME, which prevented me from logging back on till the local only message was gone. I tried many methods of fixing this error with no luck so in the end I was forced to remove the source.
Solution - Enter services and "disable" network list service. Apparently Origin's first method of determining if you have an internet connection is the list service, which is simply idiotic in my opinion. By turning this service off you are basically forcing Origin to determine if you have a connection through your actual connection. After this change I've left Mass effect multiplayer online for 12 or so hours straight without a disconnect. Not exactly proof of a full fix, but considering half an hour was a miracle before I'm willing to bet it helped.

When I played MW3 with a friend, she couldn't join my party and I couldn't join her's. But then they released a patch and we could join each other's party.
But then they released another patch and we couldn't join each other again.
I had done nothing with my routher, she had though.
Gonna turn on the UnPn later, becaus I have a brother who is annoying, and the router needs to be restarted for it to kick in.
But I couldn't figure out how to change the ports thing.
It would be nice to try and join someone's party first though, but I have no friends who play this game
It's weird though that I can join random parties in every multiplayer game.
And when I host, the people who join have no issues with lag, the enemies are visible and the other people too.
When I played Black Ops 1, we used a router that wasn't wireless, then I had NAT type 1.
But the friends who joined me and the other people with NAT 1 had NAT 2, and it even said that someone had restricted NAT and that it might affect the game, but they could still play with us and they had no issues apparently, they did great in the games.
So I'm very curious about BLOPS2 and that friends from MW3.
Treyarch is better programmers than they devs for ME3, that I'm sure of. And BLOPS2 had another net system.

I occasionally get this and am instantly booted out of Origin even though I can obvisouly still connect to the internet. I tried a bunch of things and some must have helped because I only get them occasioanlly now (as opposed to constant before). If disabling this doesnt have any other side-effects I'd give that a try.

If you are experimenting difficulty connecting to other players online and your Internet connection is behind a router using NAT (Network Address Translation), you may need to take one of the following steps to attempt fixing your issues:
Does that mean anyone? Like not being able to join quck matching or getting people to join your party if you're host?
Or does it only mean "joining friends"?
I have no issues finding matches, though if the host is bad I might get the "Lost connecting to game" or "Waiting for other players" that won't go away.
I haven't tried to join friends in this game, but ever since I couldn't join a friend in MW3 I've been reluctant to play with friends.
Stupid wireless ****
I used to have a router that wasn't wireless, and then I had NAT type 1 and no issues. But it only gave out 4 ip addresses, not enough for this household.

A bit of a necro again, but just an update and a late response to this post. In the past month I've disconnected from Origin a grand total of 2 times and both times were due to Origin going down. The fix has worked wonders for me. Disabling the network list service--for a wired connection at least--has had no negative impacts on my connection. It simply makes it so the network sharing center doesn't know if I'm online or not, which is primarily just a notification function anyway.elconejito75 wrote...

a) Make sure you have all the free DLC installed. Not having it installed will prevent you from connecting with people who do.
c) Nice neco.
