I don't know about anybody else, but during gameplay, I get horrible framerate drops by moving the camera around. If I keep it still, or watch during any cutscenes, it's a perfect 60 fps. I think this might be a coding issue.

I5 2500k at 4.7 ghz
8gbs ram
gtx 580
(shouldn't be a hardware issue)

glad to hear I'm not the only one with a problem (well, not glad to hear, hopefully this doesn't happen with the retail version)

Do you have vSync on or off?

dump the motion blur.
It's annoying anyway.

Origin settings -> in game tab -> uncheck first box. Had the same problem.

The problem is origin overlay. The game was unplayable...

How can i disable Vsync in this game? Theres no option for that in the config.exe and if i force off in the driver the game crashes on startup.

It's just your computer not being able to render a new scene fast enough. Spin the camera around when you start up, and you should have no problem for the rest of the game, until you load a new enough area.

Doubt it.

I would try disabling Origin in game feature and skip the motion blur feature also.

I have a feeling that the revision of the game was made much earlier in development, and as such the performance will be lacking. Lets wait until the final release to tell us anything.

No change (and I disabled all extra features like AA, MB, etc; disabled the Origin overlay, and dropped a few CCC settings down to balanced), it's an optimization issue or something... they better have it sorted out by release.

Yup same problem with me. If I don't move the mouse I get great F.R., nothing stutters, Reaper blows crap up and it all looks good. Once I move that mouse, it's unplayable, and this includes dialogue choices and menu options. I'm running these specs

i7 720 qm
ATI Radeon 5870m
8gb RAM

Could it be an issue with it not being optimized or something with the ATI cards?

Update!
That fix of going to Origin settings, game tab, and unchecking that first box fix the issue for me. I'm moving the camera around no problems and zero stutter. Try the fix and hopefully it works for you too.

I have the same issue when running the game higher than 720p, but if you keep the game at 720p and you've got the hardware, you'll get a solid 60 fps throughout.

Come on Bioware, ME3 is going to be my first ME game lol.

I solve the low frame rate issue for my laptop.

"I have a laptop...
ACER Aspire 5750G
Processor: Intel Core i3-2310M
Operating System: Windows 7 Home (x64)
RAM: 4GB (633MHz?)
GPU: NVIDIA GT 520M

The demo of Mass Effect 3 is... (/drums) UNPLAYABLE!
The lowest details, resolution 1280/720
At the cutscenes fps rate is about: 20-40 (!)
And when I'm finally able to move, also have to shoot to someone, the fps rate becomes:
5-20.
I don't know why there is such a big bounces between fps rates.
Now I have a problem. So.. I have saves from ME1 and ME2, and I can't play ME3 joyfully on PC... However I still have the PS3... It's really hard to choose between hard-earned saves and clearly new start ME3 story on PS3. ~~sorry about my english"

The solution is that I had to force my graphic card to run with MassEffect3Demo.exe.

In my case:
Just run NVidia control panel, then add the .exe file

Easy enough :P
Now I can play with the highest details! (huh, I'm so glad..) ~without antialiasing~

Yeah! The same problem was on my Samsung laptop(i5.6gb ram, nvidia 540).I just add the exe file to nvidia control panel and now it runs with all max settings with 16 antialiasing and anisotropy at 40 fps avg:)
