Yesterday i played demo twice and it works perfectly, now it lags terribly and looks like ingame camera starts to live it's own life when you touch the mouse, it's totaly unplayable.

Origin settings -> in game tab -> uncheck first box. Had the same problem.

The problem is origin overlay. The game was unplayable...

Works for me, Thanks:D

It doesn't work for me though. Since I don't like Origin I have put every option by default to the most restricted in concerns of privacy (including no Origin in games).
Anyway the demo has so many framerate drops that I really hope it was taken from an unoptimized version of ME 3.
The demo of ME 2 in contrast was very well playable and you were even able to save the game. But maybe I played another ME 2 demo than the pre-release demo.
The framerate drops start the moment I enter the defense comittee (?) room and do not stop until the demo finishes.
The newest driver is installed and ME 2 worked quite well on medium-high settings. As ME 3 is told to work with the same system specs I'm a bit confused why the demo is so laggy.

Moreover I'm wondering why there're nearly no graphic settings. What is with texture details, etc?

Same here this is pretty disappointing I am playing the game at max resolution with all settings available in the demo enabled and there is definitely an unusual stutter not present in other games I am playing like Metro 2033. FIX IT BIOWARE!!!

I think I know why the Demo has a Low FPS for Me: When I got my Laptop back, I was given the Wrong AC Adaptor. Posted ImagePosted Image

My adaptor was a High Performance AC Adaptor. The AC Adaptor thatI have now reduces the Performance of My Laptop. It even said it in a Message on My Laptop.

It can't be My Laptop because:

17.3 in HP Pavilion

ATI Radeon 6550

6 GB RAM

4 GB Graphics

Seriously, sometimes i ask myself what kind of **** people do with their pc's. I have never had problems with lag/stutter or anything compared to the whole ranting you read these days on different game forums.

It works perfectly here.Phenom II 945 & 5770

Same here, the game stutters/freezes whenever I move my mouse around. But disabling Origin in-game/overlay seems to fix the problem. Hope the final product isn't like this, cause I can't play with my friends.........

My Laptop:

17.3 in HP Pavilion

ATI Radeon 6550

6 GB RAM

4 GB Graphics

Everything for ME1 AND ME2 is on Maximum Setting, including the Screen Resolution: 1600x900, and the FPS Mostly Ranges from 40-60 FPS.

Why is the ME3 Demo having a Problem with the FPS? Is it just the Demo? Surely It Can't Be My Laptop.Posted Image

I have very similar system and I played demo without any fps-issues. Just worse GFX card.
2600K @ 4.4Ghz
8Gb RAM
GTX 560 Ti, using latest WHQL-certified drivers.

Tho I had similar problem with other games, only when moving mouse fps drops terribad. My reason was weird as gaming mouse refresh rate was too high. Happened both Steel Series Xai and Logitech G9x. Lowered it from 1000 times sec to 500 fixed my problem. Didn't happen in every game.

I don't think most of your problem is the same, or maybe not any of you, but worths checking out if you're using gaming mouse with software and you're sure your computer is capable to run the game well.

Yeah, it's *totally* our fault.

No, you're wrong. My system is same as yours (except different CPU series) and has definite stutter and lag, so obviously it's not just "what kind of **** people do with their pc's." I defrag weekly and run virus scanners and systems cleaners weekly as well.

Finally got it fixed. Try changing to borderless windowed. Not mine runs at a steady 60 FPS, minus a few spots (large amounts of particle effects, such as when the bridge outside the chambers is hit, or when the Kodiak is landing. Even though, only hits the mid 50's, high 40's at the lowest. Not great, but a hell of a lot better than what I was getting.

Found out how to disable v-sync in the demo, add ForceFullVSync=false in your GamerSettings.ini (\\Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 3 Demo\\BIOGame\\Config).

Much better.

Unit Alpha: This may have been what you were experencing, as running a game in a window automatically disables v-sync.  Try that tweak and run it fullscreen, should be much smoother.

I was having terrible frame rate drop, so much that the demo was pretty much unplayable. Disabling the Origin in game and setting it to run with Nvidia graphics seemed to solve the problem. My system is nothing too special.
Dell xps 15
i5 M480 @ 2.67GHz
Nvidia GeForce GT 420M
4gb ram
Windows 7 x64
But it's running well now. Playing at full resolution with Fraps running the frame rate stays around 30-40 whilst in combat. I'm happy with that for my system. Thanks a lot to all the people who suggested solutions to the problem. Wouldn't have been able to figure it out myself.

No luck with that fix, sadly. The framerate should be nowhere near this low (mid 40's at times). Mass Effect 2 ran the entire game without ever falling below 58-60 FPS.

I have the same isue, FPS random drops, very low textures and other graphich problems as in bad rendering.
I'm palying on an Alienware M14x
i7 2,4Ghz
6Gb RAM
Nvidia GT555M 3GB

I mean ME2 can run at full spec in excess of 80 FPS, jeez I can run BF3 comfortably @60FPS (not maxed out but on Ultra textures).

Disabling Origin in-game solved it completely for me. Had no idea the overlay was a such a piece of crap with certain games.

Hello,
i have low fps in ME3 Demo 20-40FPS ingame SP and MP, when in ME2 50FPS+. Tried disabling origin overlay, AA, AF, even all settings off, resolution 800x600 - than CPU usage <50%, GPU 20% and same fps. Comparing ingame CPU usage diagrams i see that ME2 have for me cpu bottleneck, but ME3 demo is far away from it... On max settings GPU usage in ME2 70%, in ME3 50% all time.
Here is diagram:

Used Settings in diagram: 1920x1200, all max.
System: AMD Athlon X2 5200+ (2.6GHz), ATI Radeon 4850 (tested newest and some oldest drivers), 4GB RAM.

The core clock on 4850 is 600-625MHz depending on the manufacturer while the 6550M is 600MHz. There shouldn't be a big difference between the two cards.

But average of 40FPS in the game should be normal for you.
