Yeah like everyone is saying most textures are fine but the ones that aren't are HORRIBLE and I quit playing for that reason gonna wait until someone makes a mod for it cuz EA/Bioware != bethesda

Just.. bump. Is it REALLY that hard, Bio? I know how this is done, you scale PC-made textures down for console. Well, just release an option HD patch with original textures like Crysis 2 did! Come on! I am sick of this low-rez crap, I did not spend 1500 euros on my machine to see this.

You won't get anything out of them.. They actually baked the wrong texture for Garrus in ME1 and didn't fix it. It was half the resolution of the 360 version at least.. That was an actual fault they never fixed, I wouldn't hold your hopes for anything that isn't an error

low res textures are mostly bad when they stand out. As long as you can create something consistent you can get used to pretty much anything (Minecraft). However, every Mass Effect game so far had high res textures right next to very low res textures which, might I add, is exactly what Bethesda fixed for Skyrim recently.

Pretty much this, on top of pop-in and various other graphical issues.

People saying play for the story are missing the entire point of complaining about graphic issues like
this. It pops you out of the immersion that the story tries very hard to give. It takes you out of the fantasy that you enshrouded yourself in and makes you realize it's just a game after all. You're not Commander Shpehard, you're just a player controlling a character in a game.

I think some people also forget PC gamers don't all play sitting six feet plus away from their HDTV (though some do, I have done before). Normally you're sat a couple of feet away from a monitor. Low resolution textures stand out alot more under this condition in comparison.

Could have been better and should have been in my opinion.

ahhh . . . the PC elitists

So people who want a developer to make the most out of their chosen platform are elitist?

There was once upon a time when things like FoV, offline LAN, mod support, private dedicated server support, among other things were a PC standard.

Nowadays we're lucky to get anything like that with a majority of games (especially EA's). Nevermind consistent high resolution textures.

We're not elitist, we just want the developer to actually make a proper effort with our platform and cater to it's strengthes. I'm sure if a game was poorly coded to your platform from PC, lacking standard features and having inconsistent graphics for what it was capable of you'd probably have something to say about it too.

Bump so this STAY UP TOP!
There are enough immersion breakers in this galaxy... You don't need to add to it.

I don't quite understand why PC users have to suffer because of console limitations. They're making a game in 2012 to comply with 2005-2006 hardware. Wouldn't mind a high resolution texture pack from Bioware though. Skyrim received one, so I suppose it is possible.

Even the Xbox 720 and PS4 are just barely faster than what we have today in terms of hardware.

Way I see it, you pay $300 for a piece of hardware to run a game, you should have the image quality of a $300 piece of hardware. For PC users who have $2000 computers, then they should receive image quality which they paid for and not that of console users.

The Unreal 3 engine is capable of so much more, but it's potential is wasted on developing for outdated console hardware.

To me the Skyrim felt like it didn't add anything. PC users are suffering because devs want MP in everyone of their games which leds to half-baked games and dev not working on making the best game they can. It also don't help that devs/publisher think that PC users are using pirate games only.

Nothing wrong with the graphics in ME2 or 3. Just tweak the settings and use ambient occlusion in performance and Skyrim settings. Makes it look great. Odd shadows here and there, but other than that, i have no complaints.

Maybe just the close up character textures. The world textures look fine. Most of them.
