Cmmon people, it is not Crysis or BF3.
Yes it's not. But there's no reason for it not to look as goog as them, especially since the developers of those 2 particular games are working with/for EA as well and have their own engines and I really don't see a reason why Bioware isn't using the newest Frostbyte or Cryengine and make the game look more beautiful on PC. Even if it's not a PC exclusive, there's no reason to not make a good PC version... like BF3 or Batman Arkham City for example.
Actually Bioware has a valid reason to still use UE3. Helps with transitioning your Shepard over to the next game easier. Plus it simply costs more money and time to create the game on a new engine. UE3 is still a great engine, and Mirror's Edge which runs on UE3 has some scenarios which in my opinion that give Crysis a run for its money; and guess what, it was a multiplat but still ended up looking great on PC.
From what I"ve seen in videos of ME3, improvements in the lighting, object motion blur, and that faux-reflective effect on the N7 armor are nice touches in my opinion to the graphics. It's just the low resolution textures that are so jarring.

Disgusting pig-like pug-like low-brow low-poly badstuffs. Can't play these frightfully low-blow alias-sympathizer electronic games without sighing heavily.
Protip: Don't play BioWare games for their graphics engines. Alternatively, learn to stop worrying and love the storyline.
The script is somehow even worse this time around though!

Also you veryfied exactly what I posted a few minutes ago. (http://social.biowar...71509/5#9273811)
The only reason Consoles are the main focus right now is simple.
Because you can buy USED GAMES.
Once they put a stop to used game sales you guys are done.
Please refrain from puking out dogsh!t all over your keyboard and clicking post.
Also, I heard you can buy a brain on amazon.com, assuming a yank knows what a brain is I suggest buying one and using it to it's fullest potentional.

I don't play BioWare games for the graphics but the textures really caught me off guard after having been playing stuff like Skyrim and Batman AC, coupled with the sprinting animation, the toy-like Vancouver and what seemed an overly rushed intro it did detract from the experience quite a bit. Mass Effect isn't a series that an be judged by a demo thought so I'm not all that worried but I was expecting a bit more to be sure, the screens seem to suggest later levels will be better however.

This game looks and feels good and the gameplay+story will make up for everything else. But if its at least as good as ME2 then it just cant be bad.

The problem is that the PC version has the same crappy textures as the Xbox 360 version. How is getting the 360 version an improvement?CerberusSoldier wrote...

For a console game this looks great and while the PC version looks better thanks to high resolutions and anti-alias, it's still below the current-gen standard.

No the problem is the same with every game that comes out you pc players want to be treated differently than us console players . you want special stuiff because you are on pc. thats all this is about and us consoles players have not bashed you pc players but since you so badly want this war well consider it a war . I was actually listening to the pc players issues until I realised its the same ol issues of wanting to be treated differently because we play on pc . I am sick of pc players demanding special things us consoles players do not get .

You pc players have a choice but how dare you think you are entitled to anything special when us console players made this dam franchise the start with .
You didn't do anything besides buy mass effect.
Let me quote you here:
how dare you think you are entitled to anything special.
WOW O.O
Just... WoW...
It's just amazing how self-centered one can get.
Mass effect started on consoles right? so you enjoyed it on a console, and I enjoyed it on the PC because I like to use a mouse and keyboard to shoot.
As time goes on, technology changes and better graphical fidelity become the norm. (take a look at older console games, they look horrable compared to new ones)
The graphics become better and better on console, but also on PC.
Atleast the PC has the advantage of being able to upgrade to better hardware, which means they are capable of more stuff.
As more and more PC games come out the standard is moved up a notch, so when a game comes out that just flatout ignores half a decade of technological progress we have every right to speak up and say that this is unacceptable.
And just for the record.
No one, and I mean, ****ing NO ONE would give 2 sh!ts if the PC version of Mass Effect would be cut.
Unlike consoles, we have to deal with DRM which makes Piracy very, VERY appealing.
If we get a bad game, with **** graphics + added DRM to ****** you off, we have every right to complain.
FYI, True hardcore PC games won't even consider buying ME3, they pirate it to boycot origin.
So why don't you read up on the internet about PC gaming while you drink a nice cup of shut the **** up!
Well you knew that you could never have nice things when you bought the console right?CerberusSoldier wrote...

right!
The console simply can't handle what a PC can.
Here's something to consider.
The new Xbox720 will have a graphics card that no computer store on the planet will recommend to anyone buying a new PC.
The card is incredibly outdated and my card alone is 5,5x faster then the to-be-next-gen console card...

When you are playing in your couch, at some feet from the screen, in 720p resolution you are not going to notice many things, you are not going to need Anti-Aliasing or high res textures but if I'm playing in front of my screen at a 1920x1080 resolution I'm going to need some good textures and Anti-Aliasing or else the game is going to look bad, if BioWare (or any company really) is going to release a product for the PC I'd like for them to think of me too, the PC consumer, and do a little adjustment in line with my platform of choice, nothing more, nothing less.

Cherry picking your screenshots eh? The ground texture looks bad, armor textures look bad especially when in a dialogue scene. Yea the faces look good but looks like once again were getting good looking faces **** armor textures like in ME1 and ME2.
Come on this is looks so ugly.
As for Best looking UE3 game that's laughable. Mirror's Edge is gorgeous and obviously Arkham City.

Yes Arkham City has some problems at max for some people (not me) but at least Rocksteady bothered to give us DX11, highres textures, better LOD and other stuff. Just look at Batman!

A high res pack for the pc is doable, so pc gmaers will ask for it, heck i would even pay for it.
why is this a problem for console gamers?
