I am sorry, but not everone has enough money to have a computer that would run Battlefield 3 on highest settings... or at least at normal settings.
Wanna high textures? There will be mods done by some users and fans - download them.
But I have no problem with textures, everything looks amazing in ME3 so far.

It really does not matter what you think about people has enough money to have a high end computer.
It about offer PC gamers a choice. You can choose the setting of the texture. If you have a low end PC, then choose low setting.

HD texture is difficult and not sufficient by mod. The game itself was difficult to mod in the first place. Using texmod, I need to load to game 3 min before start. That's ****ty.

PC has the power to drive the game. Why the **** not to? Giving customer choices is better than developer think what is best for your PC because it will never work perfectly.

You do know that there's this thing yeah, called a Polygon, right? And higher resolution, and better looking textures require more Polygons, and more Polygons require a larger download, a better CPU, a better GPU, and more work on the developers end; they can't just press a button that retextures everything at 1000% to what it previously was. Don't just post about subjects you know nothing about.

Sorry console user, your head doesn't understand how textures work.

Go back to shooting aliens on your funbox, k?

I understand a hell of a lot more than you do, since I'm actually a 3d modeller...And I'm more than likely positive my pc is better than yours, so try again after you've finished school, k?

Then you would know that textures have nothing to do with polygons, and there's no reason not to have high res textures.

They just didn't bother because they wouldn't work on consoles.

Not technically a texture per se, but has anyone noticed the mini-husks running about ground-level on the first portion of the demo? They look like 2D graphics you'd find in an arcade game circa 1993. Hilariously awful. They run sideways.

THIS!!!!!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL I just played the demo and I couldn't believe it when I saw them. I was like OMFGWTF??? REALLY BIOWARE IN A 2012 GAME??? This is so embarrassing for a studio like Bioware looked like a game frm the 90s. BAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA a clear sign of laziness

For those who don't have a clue what this is about in the first part of the demo when you are escaping with Anderson after facing the first pack of husks just look down below for a MASSIVE LOL

In all honestly most people probably didn't notice since it's just something in the background. What would be the point of making something hardly anyone would look at for longer than a second look really high spec?

Though i guess it bothers a certain type of person who look at every single detail to find the tiniest thing wrong and then go on the forums all like "WORST GAME EVER!"

I think people needs to cool down a little, is obvious that A LOT of things were cutted from the demo, not only dialogs, but high res textures, animations, even facial options.

I have a system very capable of running the game, i7 920, 6GB RAM, Radeon 6850 1GB and even after messing with the config file the game looks bad.
I think they cutted some of this things because the so called "2GB limitation" in file size.

Unfortunelly we PC users need to wait and see how the graphics are in the full game.

The funny thing is that these pc-gamers keep ****ing about graphics, but as soon you talk about configuration utility for graphic cards they will look at you like some dumb ****.

Btw Textmod doesnt work cause the .ini files are not available. Has nothing to do with Origin, cause Origin is basically a downloader/installer of games. It doesnt integrate in your games like Steam does.

Demo's have never been good. Anyone remember the PS3 Me2 demo? It was really ****ty, but the game itself was very finished.

A lot of gamers tend to go by the "it has to look good to be good" mentality, which is often farthest from the truth, but they need those wicked visuals to justify the money they spent on 3 displays and a $700 (or more) video card I think.

I'd rather a game that looks "ok" and plays wicked than a game that's Hollywood CGI quality and plays like crap.

Neither ME1 or ME2 were "state of the art" visually when they came out, and why anyone would expect ME3 to be boggles me.  BW isn't known for their kickass graphics, they are known for telling great stories (usually).

With some cfg file tweaks and a custom NV profile, I think ME3 looks pretty good, but I was far too busy doing diving rolls and shooting Cerberus agents to notice just how low rez the floors and walls were.  Forest?  Trees?  Yeah.....

Everyone has their own opinion and is more than entitled to it, but don't get so hung up on one thing that you miss out on the fun you could be having.

Those who think the textures are any better in final game are delusional. Can you name a single AAA game demo that for some reason didn't have exactly the same textures as the final game? All you can hope is for a texture pack update or a mod if possible. Meanwhile Shepard will only save the world of 8-bit outfits.

I'm not talking about textures, but if you look at sprites, some smoke, fog, the water, they all look worse than ME2 equivalent.

I think they are indeed low res versiosn and in the game they will look much better.

Man, I am not talking about the back. It's the character and the cutscene you use. It is in your face the entire time and whenever you have a conversation.

Personally, the background texture is fine. But in the amazing cinematic opening of the game, having a very bad texture clothing in Anderson and Shepard. it's totally kill. If you think the graphic fine, it's okay for you too.

But at least, offer PC gamers a choice to tune their game. This "it's not a big ideal" attitude is really not helping the gaming industry to move forward and care for the technology.

Each element in the game is important, including, gameplay, story (unlike David Jaffe), pacing, Graphic, etc. To hardcore players and faithful players, they might not care about the graphic quality or game play. Imagine playing the game with same gamplay and 8 bit graphic, it's really did not add the attaction and immersiveless into the game.

Game like this (Specially Story involve heavy) should have a little bit graphic texture. Beside, it's not like killing your PC by running it. Skyrim does it too.

Duke Nukem Forever demo had actually better textures than full release, and that was fixed like half year later, it was weird.

I don't get why they would lower textures for the demo, just to give us bad impression. I don't think higher resolution ones would make the file that much bigger, so the demo looks the same as full version.

I'm loving all the armchair psychologists in this thread. I can't guess at anyone else's motivations for their "complaints" but me, personally, I just thought the little 2D crab-people looked funny. I happened to notice it, had a chuckle, and then moved on. Did it prevent me from enjoying the demo? Not at all. I've played it 5 times so far. Will I cancel my N7 Collector's Edition pre-order because of it? No chance whatsoever. The demo was a blast and, if anything, it has only made me more eager to play the full game when March 6th arrives.

I just think, with today's technology, they can do better than this.

I, too, believe it is a great demo. Especially, the emotional session (the kids) is perfect. The music is also great when the Normandy first arrived. I felt like honor to be a hero who has this big burden on my shoulder.

Technological, they truly have the ability to do better than this because they did it with the 1st ME. The texture is better than the 2nd ME and the 3rd ME demo.

I will keep my pre-order because of the story and the quality of the game. It just very very disappointing with their laziness. If they want to correct that I am wrong, then fix it in the final retail release.

I really only have a couple of complaints about it. The uniform shep is wearing in the first level is ridiculously low res. The armor on fem shep in the second level is also lower res than it is on male shep, the n7 logo is blurry and the rest of the armor isn't right, on male shep it's perfectly fine could just be a demo flaw. Other than those couple things, I actually think the game looks pretty good. Really hope thay release a high res pack for it though, they did with da2.

Dunno, I don't think it's a demo issue only since it's also present on the promotional FemShep stuff they've released.

To be honest, I don't understand why PC version of ME3 demo have bad texture.

What were they thinking? Nobody will notice it?

From ME2 PC, the community has been anger with the situation. Now, 2012 ME3 demo, still carry on with the same thing.

What is really going on?

I just hope they will have more options to customize graphics options (e.g. lighting, shadows, particle effects, etc.) in the final game. It was a little choppy on mine but it got better when I restarted the game. Anyone know anything about this?

the full configuration is in somewhere like this:

C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\Mass Effect 3 Demo\\Binaries

Check it out. You can change more setting than in game setting.

Hope It helps you.

Oh, Yeah, the game definitly need more customize graphics options, just like what I suggested in the first place.

It isn't a matter of liking it.  It is a matter of this not being a discussion forum.  It is a tech support forum.  ****ing about textures here is pointless.
