You don't understand. It's not about personal preferences, it's about not being able to use powers at all. Fiddling around with the menu is not an option, if a phantom is after you...

There is no reason for this not to be implemented. Especially since so rare used abilities are on (RB) and more common ones are on (LB). The thumb can rotate but there is absolutely no comfortable way for a person's index finger to aim with (LT) and press (LB). It'd ridiculous that this even made it past testing. We absolutely need a way to remap these.

I just kind of realized while reading this that I use my middle finger for the triggers and index fingers for the bumpers. Not saying you should be forced to change or anything but if a change isn't made perhaps that could help your LB troubles.

Now I got nothing as far as fixing the Y problem, that's something I never really thought about but if theres really no issue adding it to multiplayer I am by all means for it.

I found that this happens to me when I switch to a new character, the new one will only have one power mapped.

The solution that has worked for me is to simply play one round by myself with that new character, just start a server, hit ready, load wave 1, quit game.  Next time I join all my powers are mapped - although I still can't adjust them.

The same thing happens if I switch back to my old character again - the workaround is OK, except for times when you decide to change character after finding some guys to play with, you run the risk of loading up and not having powers mapped.  But as I have no idea how to textchat to people and can't get my headset working (PC) I can't let them know I'll brb if I quit the game so meh.

Thanks for posting this. I started a new round with only overload mapped on my Sentinel. Very frustrating.

You Sir are a real lifesaver! Thanks a ton.

If you mean swap between your two weapons in game, then you hold down the X button (the one you tap for reload) until you swap.

I really hope this is fixed in the full version. The powers were mapped out on the hotkeys fine with my Sentinel, but when I went to play an Infiltrator only the sticky grenades were mapped out. Made all my powers really hard to use. I have the PC version.

Edit: Oddly enough, now they are mapped out O.o. This happened randomly. But either way, I hope we'll be able to map out the powers in hotkeys in the full version :S.

Wow. You have got to be kidding me, that's rediculous.

It's a HUGE deal because the Y button is a pain to get to while you're trying to keep your thumb on the right thumbstick to aim. So any powers that need aim (most of them), are awkward to use when mapped to the Y button.

-EDIT: changed trigger to thumbstick to avoid confusion

The workaround is to

Lb= shockwave
Y= charge
RB=nova.

Whats the problem.

Unless your thumb is 1 cm you shouldnt have a problem

its a real problem for me since my grenades (soldier) seems to have disappeared from my hot-key bar. I'd really like to remap it onto my bar.

Glad I finally found an answer to why I couldn't get my powers to work..no wheel. Which makes sense as you can't pause the action in real time. I'm a bad one for pausing and using my wheel since I have little to no dexterity UGH. Time to learn some new skills.
Also, this is my first experience with MP and I felt like a frekkin idiot trying to get things to work so I just kept shooting as many as I could, but I also died like 3 times. Although, we did make it to wave 6 and that was my first try. Which is why I'm glad they have the demo so I'll be able to practice and get the hang of the multiplayer before I'm playing from my saved games.

"I don't get teh feature I wantz so I wanz devs to justify this atrocity to me!!!!!!!!!"

This is the feeling I get from every critique and feedback post I see on BSN. It's not a matter of "Hey, I'd like to request this feature because I enjoy this playstyle. Is there anyway you guys can accommodate for this or what's the issue preventing you from doing so?"

There is no search for understanding, it's just complaints and demands. Over-inflated expectation, treating the people who have worked their bums off like second class citizens.

It's like tact and politeness has completely been lost. I don't have any problems with the criticizer that exists on these boards, there some very nice requests being made. However, they're betting bellowed on a soapbox with a megaphone with picket signs in the free hand.

That doesn't need to happen, and the fact that the internet culture does it on a regular basis degrades the value of such uprisings for when we really need it.

So yes, I would like to see button mapping features in the game, Multiplayer and single-player. And not just for powers, but for other functions as well, if possible. If not, I'd like to understand more on why that's not possible so that I, as a player can make more intelligent suggestions or perhaps make these requests earlier in the process before the issues become impossible to fix.

This is necessary, I play on PC and for some reason some powers won't move to my quickslots, forcing me to bring up the pause menu and click it.

I play on PC, and all 3 powers are 1, 2 and 3, which is really comfortable to use. I don't see what's he problem.

I'd prefer to be able to remap Warp to right bumper instead of left on my adept, so yeah, I support remapping. It doesn't break the game at all the way it is, but it's kinda awkward. Like brushing my teeth with my left hand. I can do it. I can even get good at it. But it's never going to feel right.
