As the title says, I own BF3 for the PC, but when I try to access the MP, it tells me I am not permited yet.
Is there anything in specific I need to do to get into it?

Did you attempt to play multiplayer in BF3 at all?
You have to ping the server first. Boot the game up and hit the multiplayer button on battlelog to give yourself the entitlement.
