Are you getting a "We're sorry, but you do not meet the requirements to download this game" like me? or something else?

I have the PC version of BF3. I hit "get it now" under the ME3 demo, and now it starts up at 0% as a paused download. I hit resume, it says calculating, then disappears from the download queue and then repeats from the 0% paused download. What's happening? There are no error messages.

I can't download the demo either. It's stuck at "Preparing". I've tried restarting Origin several times, yet I get the same thing.

The first time I clicked the store link to download the demo, I noticed another window on the Windows task bar for a "End User License..." I couldn't actually see any EULA even if I clicked the task bar button for it. It's like it was hidden behind the main Origin window. Would this have anything to do with not being able to download the demo?

I just tried restarting Origin. Now it's just like the post above says: It's stuck between "0.00%" and "Preparing" with the occasional "Ready to Install". No error messages but no hint of other windows opening either.

Before anyone asks, I preordered BF3 and got the LE as well. I got the multiplayer working one day after launch. I'm using 64-bit Windows 7. Hard drive storage space and RAM should not be an issue.

Correction, it's actually "Ready to Download" instead of "Ready to Install". It's just stuck in some kind of loop. Just like when I installed Battlefield 3 actually.

But mostly it's just 0.00% and Preparing, so consider my problem the same as Cooris's problem.

It's probably due to the fact that you're underage to download it. I got Battlefield 3 LE and cant download any M games/demos on origin, even though I bought BF3.

@Cooris how did you get it to work? Please tell me! Don't leave me here without the goodness of ME3!

...of course he's left me here and left after finding the answer. How considerate.

The OP, Cooris, had a solution, but then he just left without saying what it is. Extremely thoughtful of him.

If you pull up your task manager you can see the DirectX Setup TRYING to boot up, but it wont because of errors in the .bac files or something... that's all I've figured out so far, still wont install for me. Oh, hes probably playing ME3, lol.

I have no idea about DirectX or anything much computer related, so I only have a preliminary understanding of what you said. Thanks for sharing though, hopefully someone will come along and present a solution.

The best I can do right now is keep the thread going and hope someone comes with an answer or the OP finishes playing the demo and comes back with an answer.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure your problem isn't mine because I'm stuck at 0% i.e. game can't download while you've got the game downloaded but unable to finalise the installation.

Update: It's working for me now. I don't know what I did to fix it was though. Last night I just exited Origin and put my PC on Hibernate. Today I restarted Origin and now everything works fine.

If it's working, a window pops up asking whether you want a Desktop/Start Menu Shortcut and then asks you to agree to the EULA

Howdy people,

I’ve been having a fight with origin for the past couple days because it gets stuck at 0% and keeps pausing/resuming the download but never actually downloads anything.  Same with all games which is a real pain.

But I have figured out a workaround that works for ME3 and probably most others, here’s the details:

First, trigger a download attempt.
Go to the Origin Games folder and find the mass effect 3 .manifest file, open it with notepad
Copy everything starting from “http” up to but not including the “:eadvalue” into a new notepad file
Close the original file and cancel the download attempt
Replace all instances of “%2f” with “/”
Replace all instances of “%3f” with “?”
Copy the new link into your browser and download the zip file
If it isn't there already, under the Origin Games folder create a new folder called “Mass Effect 3 Demo”
Extract the downloaded .zip into it
Fully exit and restart Origin
It should now detect the downloaded files and allow you to install the game

There were no prompts right away for me but give it a few minutes and it does work! :D

I'm still seeing my Origin Games folder as completely empty, even while downloading... when you go in is an ME3 folder just there, with the.manifest in it?

Arnill, if you make creating the subfolder “Mass Effect 3 Demo” the first step the .manifest should appear inside it a moment after you've triggered the download attempt.

Then carry on with the steps.

Ok, so I've been having the same problem and did this, but when I wnt to extract it a message came up and told me that it could not be extracted because the file was the wrong format or damaged...also this is with dowloading Mass Effect (the first game).  Any ideas?
