I haven't played ME1 in years and ME2 in months, and the controls were pretty easy to adjust to. Of course, it would be even easier if spacebar wasn't used to roll, take cover and select something. There are more than twelve keys on a keyboard.

as with GoW3 and even ME2, once I got use to the controls I had no problem. Same with this, I felt with time I will get the hang of em

what happens if your holding forward already when you press and hold the cover button...roll or cover? will need to try it out.
Bioware cant fix anything else the game has gone gold which means what we saw in the demo is probably what we'll get in the full game:DD4rkSektor wrote...
Just finished the demo, and had a blast, but there's one glaring problem: The controls are horrible. I found it extremely difficult and frustrating to control Shepard. He rolled when I wanted to sprint, rolled when I wanted to take cover, took cover when I wanted to activate a button, etc.
Hopefully, BioWare ironed out these issues in the final version, but if they didn't, they sure could learn a lesson from Warhammer 40k: Space Marine. The controls in that game are perfect. Shift to sprint, space + directional key to roll.
Shift: Sprint and enter/exit cover.
Space + Directional key: roll and context sensitive actions, like jumping over a gap.

Apparently, that's too much work for Bioware to bother...
What do you mean? I've found Bioware to be pretty responsive to their fans, especially compared to most of the large game developers and publishers.

A simple press of A/X/Spacebar will get you out of cover.raider_1001 wrote...
Is there a "unstick to cover" button besides pressing backward button and wait for a second? I find Shepard is prone to stick to cover like it is made out of superglue. If this is ME2 where enemy is mostly staying put I wouldn't complain, but when hordes of enemy tends to rush you (or your objective) with their new AI in ME3, this can be annoying.
