Don't worry the demo was a during development build.
The build that went gold recently is by far better than what we've seen in the demo.

I haven't played ME1 in years and ME2 in months, and the controls were pretty easy to adjust to. Of course, it would be even easier if spacebar wasn't used to roll, take cover and select something. There are more than twelve keys on a keyboard. <_<

I haven't played Gears,but in ME3 it isn't only the cover and roll actions assigned to the same button.It's also sprint and interaction with npcs/objects.Mr. Gogeta34 wrote...
The problem isn't the scheme... as Gears incorporates the same roll/cover system. The problem is the polish/fine-tuning. It's not as precise as Gears yet.
