Thing is, a console controller was MADE for gaming, keyboards were not. PCs are definitely not better for shooters.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Good joke, seriously.

Let's be more correct.......Keyboard don't work well with 3rd person action focused games.
PC were ment for fps....not tps.

I disagree wit hthat.

I started out with consoles and all that many years ago and it's absolutely no question, for me, that M/K feels superior. But that said i've used them for a long time now so it's second nature. Same probably for console people.

So platforming ,melee combos and fast agle movement is better on clunky pc controls?

They feel better to me personally, certainly not clunky.

I'm sorry but like how fps are better on pc because the elemenary features for it is build aroung a keyboard, the sameconcept goes for tp action games.

In your opinion, which is fine.

But not mine from my own, personal experience.

Unless you're talking about street fighter or similiar, then yeah of course.

Having had the opportunity to log some significant hours w/ the MP demo on top of the multiple playthroughs I did of the SP portion, I'm pretty comfrotable saying that this control system is superior to ME1 and ME2 at least as far as the 360 is concerned.

The primary issue with mapping so many things to the A button is that there are moments where the use option is highlighted but the game reacts as if you want to roll or take cover. This really only happens if you're too close to a wall.

Otherwise, the rolling, sprinting and vaulting are easy to perform and control. Once you've figured out that you can roll into cover, it can extend your survivability immensely.

It's not the best control sysem in the world, but it's not the worst either. I'd give it a B+ overall, given that I rated ME1 at a C and ME2 at a B-.

Most console shooters have aim assists. PC gaming doesn't need that crap. Ask yourself why?

This is absolutely a very, very bad discussion to start. Controller vs K/M is right up there with Han Shot First and PC vs. Console arguments in terms of flame war potential.

Tap to roll,Hold to cover and sprint. simples

Okay this has turned into a different thread really quickly.
My 2 Cents.

1. Mouse is King. Always Has Been King. Likely always will be king.

2. Anything done with the Keyboard - I do ten times better with my dualshock.
ESPECIALLY HOTKEYS. The keyboard has more keys obviously. The problem is
It doesn't have more of the CONVENIENT Keys.
I can put over 60 Hotkeys on my Dual Shock 3.

3. MOUSE = SUPERIOR
KEYBOARD = INFERIOR
DONE

I play most of my Pc games with my Dual Shock 3. ALL of my shooters I play
with my DS3 - including Multiplayer. I do things with my control setups
that no console game on the market has. You've never played a shooter
with a controller the way I do.

I played the STARCRAFT II campaign Start to finish with a DS3.
I assure you. It's very doable on consoles. As far as winning a match
against Koreans with Ghost In the shell Robot hands - Mental Telepathy might help.

Mouse is not king if you like to lounge and want a big screen. Still have nightmares about nineties internet cafes and lan parties- did wonders for my back.

Mouse is king for accuracy.
That being said - My current PC has never been connected to a monitor.
HDTV Only.

Side note - Wireless mouse, small table/ stand.
As I type this I'm sitting on my bed the screen is across the room.
PC Doesn't have to = slumped over in a cubicle anymore.

It sounds like the PC could have much better controls for mouse/keyboard.

I've only played on the 360, and I am doing everything I intend to do in multiplayer. Swat turns, dodging grenades, going into cover, and even running away from Atlases, all of it is great. And curving powers is much better this time around too, I hardly ever accidentally fire off a power that doesn't home in on an enemy.

On PC I found the controls a bit strange at first because I was trying to play it like ME2. Multiplayer trained me up pretty fast, so now I don't mind at all.

Separation of the run button from the cover button would be nice though.

I love the demo, the controls are pretty good for the 360 version......but, I think the aim sensitivity is just ridiculous....even when i switch it to low, it's still ridiculous. Also, when sprinting I think you should be able to move the left thumbstick in any direction.....when I do that, I stop sprinting.

Also, the A button needs to stop being the "everything button".

The test for good controls ( at this point ) can be summed up in one question for me:

How often do you have to use the power wheel ?
How often is it REQUIRED for you to pause the game in order to get something
done?

That is why I only play Mass Effect on my PC.
I have a PS3 but ME is PC ONLY for me.
I'm an aggressive Chaotic kind of player the more things I can get done
while on the move - the better. Pause and Play is not my style AT ALL.

Soldier is one of the simpler classes - Not as many powers to choose from in combat.
Primary powers anyway.

Wassis " A is for AWESOME " silliness I keep seeing.
I miss somethin' ?

I found the controls fine. I changed the mapping of one key to the TAB button instead of the shift key because it's more comfortable/natural for me. But other than that they seemed extremely similar to ME2. I never had a problem with Shep doing anything but what I told her to do.

I am unsure of what the "EVERYTHING" button that I keep hearing complaints about is? I play on PC but I'm assuming it must be a case of too many controls being mapped to the same button on consoles? I know I have experienced similar issues in other games on console.

As for consoles being better for FPS' and TPS' than mouse/keyboard I have to disagree. One of the reasons I have ME on PC is that I absolutely cannot aim guns on console but have no problem on PC. I cannot run and aim at the same time very well on console but can on PC. Although my PC now can play things better (graphically and such) than my PS3, before I got my current rig I had a ****ty laptop that could just barely play the games. I still chose to play on PC because I could aim better.

Of course, other people might have the opposite issue. But that's my two cents.
