Apparently, this can be fixed by quickly changing your Origin name to something else and then resetting it. That worked for someone here who encountered that issue.

Go to profile.ea.com and set your default profile. Then restart Origin. Alternatively, try the change Origin ID (although I never changed it, I just went to the change page).
