And the award for most out of character line goes to... [from the demo]

How the heck is Wrex a Mary Sue? Because he respect's Liara's combat skills? That's not what makes him a Mary Sue. If anything, it's his becoming King of all the Krogan, but it's still a stretch. people are too willing to slap the "Mary Sue' label on anything. It's ridiculous, and doesn't even apply to this situation.

It feels out of character for me, as I never felt wrex had much connection to liara. However this line of dialogue might have come from events during ME3, or maybe wrex see's a little of that old asari he used to know in her now that she has toughened up.KotorEffect3 wrote...
Not really that out of character for him since they all took down Saren together in ME 1. They all got to know each other and they have been through war together.
Out of context in the demo though? Sounds wierd as hell to me.

Krogans respect power, and Wrex was quite impressed by Liara's biotic abilities in ME3.
I used them both exclusively for a ME1 play-through.

[It doesn't spoil much, only that Wrex is on it]
Ok, anyone else think this line sounded forced as heck?
Wrex: "I appreciate that, Liara. I wouldn't want anyone else along for the ride."
Seriously, where does that come from? [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/lol.png[/smilie] It sounded so freaking out of character from Wrex. It comes out of nowhere, and slaps you in the face with a mary-sue-ish strength that I frankly was not ready for.
I can picture the writer's team working on the writing prior to ME3:
"Ok guys, I've been thinking, and I got some ideas to improve Liara's character. One, she has to look tougher, meaner, and have access to a time machine. Two, whenever she's not onscreen, all the other characters should be asking "Where's Liara?" Three..."
Good thing it prompted Garrus' appearance a second later. That defused the awkwardness somehow. Him and Wrex were, otherwise, glorious.
Also, if you come across other "out of character" sounding lines, feel free to post them here. There's not much to work with so far, though.
It doesnt bug me. Wrex sees Liara and Garrus as squad mates and as friends since everything they went through in ME1. You are just looking to far into the details you are not seeing the big picture.
Look at in ME2 when you first see Wrex on Tuchanka. He runs up and gives your shepard a big hand shake (Might as well of been a hug lol) and says "Shepard! My friend!"

As far as I can tell, the demo line that was most out of character was Shep's "this isn't about strategy or tactics, it's about survival" line. This coming from a career soldier...who is (was) also a Spectre.
* A single line which isn't all that out of character, given that Liara and Wrex spent several months as part of the same combat squad fighting to save the galaxy. And a line that totally fits some people's playthroughs, if they happened to use Liara and Wrex a lot and listened to all of their elevator conversations.

The only iffy lines I heard were the ones with Shepard saying the live or die lines. And since I had no choice in the chosing I don't really mind. The game better have more dialog choices.

Replayed ME1 month ago or so. If you go to Therum last, characters won't shut up about how we need to recruit her (humans even ignore human colony, Feros, and suggest to go after possible enemy). If you do Therum first, then characters won't shut up about how they feel for her and, after Noveria, then you should comfort her.
So... yes, this line looks OOC - especially considering that the only time they were relatively close was when Liara was goody-two-shoes and Wrex is definitely a fan of paragons - and no, this doesn't surprise me the slightest.

Sheesh, if people are getting this worked up about a single line* then I totally hope you're prepared for the aneuyrisms that will arise when your carefully constructed head-canons start exploding during ME3. Better have a doctor standing by.
