They've all experienced a disaster together and survived.....ofcourse the core team is all bonded now. Would you rather have them still be like "You guys suck can't wait till this is over so i  can cut loose". I imagine Jack is softer now too.

This.

Yes, that line stood out to me at first... but then this fact came to mind as well. He sure as heck should be a bit nicer and not have a chip on his shoulder after all they went through together.

Didn't you guys get the memo? Liara can do EVERYTHING important all the time because she's important. That being said, hard to judge that scene when it's likely very out of context. For all we know right before that she could have single handedly saved Wrex or something. Who knows.

I thought it sounded a bit weird too. Could just be that hearing Wrex say "Liara" was weird.
But I didn't think Wrex was so capable of being all please and thank you, maybe begrudgingly but not like that.

Really? I thought it was worse when he went all KROGAN AIR DROP and started using biotics on the Salarians...

As I posted in the Liara thread, anyone who wonders how it is that those two can be friends, need only refer to Henry V:

And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother

Combat has a way of forging bonds that are as tight as family.  Considering all they've been through together, Wrex talking to Liara like she's his little sister is a nice touch of realism.  It also isn't out of character for Wrex, as that is totally in line with what we saw of him in ME2. He has a similar reaction during his reunion with Shepard.

Wrex was badass. I hope he's a squadmate at least for a few missions.

Like I said she's a Mary Sue.

I don't think there was anything out of place with the demo dialog.

I dislike Jacob and such, but if I was about to go through combat, I'd be like "Glad to see you," or etc after ME2.

Brothers in blood and all that.

Perhaps they have grown as characters.

Goddamn you, then why did I put all this points into persuasion?

Since when it's news?

Replayed ME1 month ago or so. If you go to Therum last, characters won't shut up about how we need to recruit her (humans even ignore human colony, Feros, and suggest to go after possible enemy). If you do Therum first, then characters won't shut up about how they feel for her and, after Noveria, then you should comfort her.

So... yes, this line looks OOC - especially considering that the only time they were relatively close was when Liara was goody-two-shoes and Wrex is definitely a fan of paragons - and no, this doesn't surprise me the slightest.

So what? Wrex can't show some respect toward a fellow comrade once in a while?

When Prothy says "No, you can't."

The guy never uses contractions otherwise. Ever. He's too good for them.

A Mary Sue of who? Wesley Crusher from Star Trek: The Next Generation was a clear Mary Sue of Gene Roddenberry (No joke, Gene's middle name is Wesley) and he even stated Wesley was the character he mostly identified with. Who in Bioware does Liara represent as the Mary Sue?

She's not so much anyone's personal Mary Sue as she's their personal alien fetish fuel. The thought wasn't "I should make a Mary Sue of myself!" so much as it was "I should make a SUPER EASY TO SCORE WITH BISEXUAL CHICK who comes from a race of HOT BLUE STRIPPERS that'll have sex with ANYTHING and EVERYONE wants her and EVERYONE wants to be her friend but they can't have her because she has a crush on ME AND ONLY ME!"

Mary Sue simply means "A female character I don't like" for some people here.

Co-frickin-sign. The asari-slobbering they insist on making is old as all hell.

I'll be sure not to take Liara on that mission (though she was admittedly very useful) on all Wrex careers and pretend it never happened (wonder what Wreav will say to her lol).

I really have to ask.

Is this something you've experienced, or just heard second-hand? Because I'm aware of a lot of units in which combat didn't cover personal animosities.

Soldiers are professionals, by and large, and a good part of the training and conditioning is about being able to work with people you don't like. But the 'we're all friendly comrades once we fight together' piece is pretty silly.

Fortunately, that's not how Saphra uses it here.

More to the point, Shepard dear, you're an officer.

Political awareness and diplomacy come with the job.

I don't use Liara and Wrex together much, so I have to admit I don't know how they react to one another in those elevator conversations, or what opinion on one another they would have. Personally, I think that Liara probably got along better with Tali and Kaidan than the rest of the ME1 squad, but that's just me.
